# Alia: pricing, features and plan guide

Shopify brands that want to test signup timing, collect shopper preferences, and automate popup experiments rather than manage every variant manually.

- **Who is this app for?** Shopify brands that want to automate signup experiments and collect shopper preferences alongside email and SMS consent.
- **Main advantage:** Five game formats, outcome controls and working AI-assisted editing support repeated signup experiments. The inspected Basic offer includes all features.
- **Main limitation:** The starting subscription is $100/month. That is a substantial commitment for a store needing only a simple signup or notice.

<a id="pricing"></a>
## Pricing and plans

Alia bills by unique site visitors, rather than popup displays. The Shopify listing supplies the traffic tiers below. In the inspected account, Basic at 50,000 unique visitors per 30 days was $200/month with all features and a 14-day trial. Fully managed at the same allowance was $400/month with a 30-day trial and a service team. The subscription grows with visitors rather than the number of experiments you create. Start with the required visitor allowance, since the published tiers share their popup features.

The 50K Basic account price matched the Shopify listing. Other rows retain the previously checked listing prices; they were not individually reselected. The account offers a 25% annual saving and a separate Fully managed service.

<a id="plan-choice"></a>
**Why 20k visitors is a Papa pick:** The entry tier already includes testing and targeting. Pay more for traffic capacity, not to unlock those features.

| Plan | Price | Limits | What changes |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 20k visitors (Papa pick) | $100.00/mo | 20,000 visitors | All popup features · A/B testing with AI |
| 50k visitors | $200.00/mo | 50,000 visitors | More traffic |
| 100k visitors | $300.00/mo | 100,000 visitors | More traffic |
| 300k visitors | $400.00/mo | 300,000 visitors | More traffic |

## Features and plan access

The inspected editor provides wheel, scratch card, mystery box, pick a card and Plinko steps. Wheel and Plinko expose outcome probabilities and actions, even though the setup wizard starts with a guaranteed reward. Pick a card reveals configured offers; it is not a memory game.

Email, SMS and mini-quiz steps can share a journey. Answers become profile properties and can lead to different steps. Targeting includes visitor history, cookies, geography, Shopify markets and connected audience segments. The quiz evidence establishes preference collection, not a full scored survey suite.

Lia successfully changed a heading in our draft, with a before/after review and an Apply control. Smart Trigger, adaptive timing and Prism AI have dedicated reporting views. Their conversion impact and Smart Test execution were not tested.

<a id="announcements"></a>
## Formats & content

Reviewed popup documentation describes signup campaigns. Triggering a signup popup from an announcement bar does not establish a form-free announcement popup.

The audit focused on signup and game journeys. A standalone message without a form or action button was not tested, so Announcements remains unconfirmed. A floating button that reopens a signup flow does not establish that use case.

## Forms

Alia’s form controls include email capture, SMS capture, single choice, multi-step, and logic. Combine question, email, phone, reward and game steps in one popup. Steps can be reordered and duplicated. Answer buttons submit a value and can go to a chosen step or run additional actions. This supports answer-specific paths.

| Feature | How it works in Alia | Subfeatures | Evidence |

## Surveys

Alia’s feedback formats include quizzes. Mini quiz collects shopper preferences and stores answer properties. Answers can lead to different steps. Choose the response format around the question you want to answer. A recommendation score, a satisfaction rating and a quiz outcome serve different purposes; support for one does not imply the others or an automatic report.

## Gamification

Five game formats are available in the inspected editor: wheel, scratch card, mystery box, pick a card and Plinko. Wheel and Plinko expose outcome probabilities and actions. Lia can edit the draft by prompt, making Alia useful for teams iterating Shopify signup campaigns.

| Feature | How it works in Alia | Subfeatures | Evidence |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Spin the wheel (+1) | Configure slice labels, per-slice win probabilities and actions, plus spin and pause duration. The wizard starts with one guaranteed outcome, but the full editor exposes probabilities. | | [Alia](https://apps.shopify.com/alia), checked 2026-10-12 |
| Plinko (+1) | Set bucket labels, individual win probabilities and actions. The editor also controls peg rows, ball image and pause duration. The wizard defaults to one guaranteed outcome. | | [Alia](https://apps.shopify.com/alia), checked 2026-10-12 |
| Scratch card (+1) | A scratch layer hides an offer, with a claim action leading into the signup flow. The component includes a keyboard-accessible reveal. | | [Alia](https://apps.shopify.com/alia), checked 2026-10-12 |
| Pick a gift (+1) | The mystery-box template presents three choices. Each is an editable button with actions such as going to another step. | | [Alia](https://apps.shopify.com/alia), checked 2026-10-12 |
| Pick a card (+1) | Choose the card layout and offers to reveal. Reveal order can be shuffled, with actions after all configured picks. This is a reveal sequence rather than a memory-pair game. | | [Alia](https://apps.shopify.com/alia), checked 2026-10-12 |

## Experiments

Alia’s testing tools include A/B testing. The campaign screen offers Add test variant, past tests and Create Smart Test. ## Email & SMS

Alia has no confirmed capabilities in this section in the current review. Capturing an address in a popup and sending a marketing campaign are separate jobs. Compare native sending channels, automation and their allowances independently from the popup subscription; an integration with a mailing platform does not include that platform’s sending service.

## Team & sites

The reviewed account runs inside Shopify. The inspection did not establish separate Alia staff seats or a granular campaign publishing permission model. API keys have documented read scopes, which is a different concern from editor access.

For a team, confirm Shopify app access and who can change billing or publish campaigns. Do not infer staff permissions from the all-features statement or from API scopes.

## Developer

Alia’s developer interfaces include HTTP API. Read campaign lists and aggregate event reports through an API with scoped keys. The scope of each interface matters more than the API label. Opening an existing popup, sending a submitted form to an endpoint and creating or publishing campaigns are different operations. Agent access depends on those operations and the permissions exposed.

## Support

Basic lists chat support. Fully managed adds white-glove onboarding, team-run A/B tests, a customer success manager and a Slack channel. Those are service differences; response times and service outcomes were not tested. Consider the support channel alongside the work you expect help with. Access to chat does not by itself promise round-the-clock coverage, a response deadline or someone to build your campaigns. Those service commitments need to be distinguished from ordinary product assistance.

Alia’s editing tools include AI popup assistant. Lia, the built-in assistant, rewrites campaign copy on request and shows the change for review before applying it. Editing, saving a draft and activating a campaign are separate stages of the workflow. Consider how changes are prepared and reviewed before visitors see them. An AI writing assistant also has a narrower role than an assistant that can change layout or targeting.

## Integrations

The inspected catalogue includes Shopify, Klaviyo, Omnisend, Dotdigital, Sendlane, Mailchimp, Drip, Privy, Attentive, Postscript and other email/SMS destinations. ZeroBounce is offered for email validation. Quiz answers can pass as profile properties; sending, consent synchronization and connected-segment matching were not executed.

The authenticated catalogue confirmed email/SMS destinations and Shopify. Partner, analytics and Zapier routes retain their linked documentation evidence. OneText was visible as a tracking pixel; its delivery route was not tested. No new integration was connected and no contacts were sent.

Our [integration guide](https://popuppapa.com/popup-integrations/index.md) explains the connection types and workflows. For store-specific features, see our [Shopify popup apps overview](https://popuppapa.com/shopify-popup-apps/index.md#comparison).

Rewards include code, description and expiry properties; poll answers become strings or arrays. The guide documents channel consent, consent timestamps and form versions, plus age_gated_date_of_birth when a birthday field is present. These are flat profile properties, not Klaviyo Custom Objects. Pass alia_offer at email submission so a visitor leaving before the success screen can still receive the code in a welcome flow. |

The capability score brings together the confirmed features in the sections above, excluding pricing. Each metric belongs to one section, and a feature’s score includes its subfeatures. The breakdown shows how much each area contributes and where points remain unearned. It measures feature coverage, rather than conversion performance or value for money.

34.87 out of 100 for confirmed capabilities, excluding price. Each metric is counted once; its score includes its subfeatures. Unconfirmed capabilities earn no points.

## AI agent readiness

Agent readiness looks at a complete working process: understanding a campaign, creating or changing it, operating it, reading results and controlling access. This assessment adds context to the Developer section without awarding extra points. In-editor AI assistance and an external agent’s ability to operate the account are considered separately.

**Edits with Lia; exposes campaign reporting.** Lia edited a requested heading in our unpublished popup and presented a review before applying it. External agents have a documented read API for campaign lists and event analytics; external design editing and publication were not established.

| Agent interface | Available | What it offers |
| --- | --- | --- |
| In-app AI | Yes | Lia changed the requested Plinko heading, showed before/after review and applied the edit to our draft. Smart Trigger, adaptive timing and Prism AI have performance panels, but their impact was not tested. |
| REST API | Yes | Documents merchant information, campaign/popup lists, aggregate event stats, distributions and survey-answer distributions. Authenticated requests were not executed. |
| MCP | Not confirmed | An official MCP interface was not established in the reviewed material. |

| Agent task | Status | What the agent can do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Understand | Partial | The public API lists campaign and popup identifiers, titles and publication status. Complete design and targeting configuration was not established. |
| Create | Unconfirmed | Lia edited a draft inside the app. External API endpoints for creating or editing campaigns were not established. |
| Operate | Unconfirmed | External account-level publication, pausing and scheduling were not established in the public API. |
| Measure | Partial | The documented API returns time series, aggregate statistics and survey-answer distributions. No authenticated reporting request was executed. |
| Work safely | Partial | The API documents separate read:merchant, read:events and read:segments scopes plus rate limits. Lia presented review/apply controls; external write approvals and rollback were not established. |

Checked in an installed Shopify test-store account after the owner selected a plan. Draft editing and a Lia text change were executed without publication. API scopes and endpoints were checked in public documentation; no keys were read or created. Live delivery, attribution and Smart Test execution remain untested.

<a id="costs"></a>
## What one display or signup could cost

At $100.00 per month, the selected plan allocates $0.100 per display and $5.00 per signup across 1,000 displays and 20 valid email signups. The table rounds to cents. The 2% signup rate is an assumption, not measured performance or a vendor charge per event.

The capacity check assumes one site and 1,000 visitors. Billing is based on visitors, which is distinct from the actual outcomes used here. For form-free announcements, compare displays rather than signups. Taxes, separately billed services and customer discounts are excluded.

| Outcome | Calculation | Estimated cost |
| --- | --- | --- |
| One display | $100.00 ÷ 1,000 | $0.10 |
| 1,000 displays | $100.00 ÷ 1,000 × 1,000 | $100.00 |
| One signup | $100.00 ÷ 20 | $5.00 |

<a id="alternatives"></a>
## Alia alternatives: which should you choose?

Shopify brands that want to automate signup experiments and collect shopper preferences alongside email and SMS consent. The starting subscription is $100/month. That is a substantial commitment for a store needing only a simple signup or notice.

Compare Claspo and Popupsmart against that requirement. The cards below explain where each is a better fit. Match the billing unit, required features and site or account limits before comparing headline prices; the cheapest subscription does not always cover the same work.

<a id="alia-vs-claspo"></a>
### Alia vs Claspo

Alia starts at $100/month for 20,000 visitors with automated experiments. Claspo’s Shopify 50K tier costs $39/month for 50,000 pageviews and includes games and A/B testing. Visitors and pageviews are different meters.

- **Choose Claspo:** For an unbranded game or signup campaign at a lower starting subscription.
- **Choose Alia:** When automated signup optimization is central to the job and the store can justify the higher starting fee.

Popupsmart Advanced costs $69/month for 100,000 pageviews across five sites. Alia’s $100 entry tier serves a Shopify-focused signup workflow with automated testing.

- **Choose Popupsmart:** For general popup campaigns across several sites.
- **Choose Alia:** For a Shopify signup program built around automated experiments rather than manually maintaining variants.

## About this review

We inspected Alia in a Shopify test store on October 12, 2026: an unpublished eight-step draft, five game formats, quiz answers, triggers, targeting, integrations, reporting and public API documentation. Lia successfully edited a heading with review before application. Smart Test setup was not opened; live campaigns, contact delivery, reward redemption, attribution and authenticated API requests were not tested. Dates beside sources indicate when the corresponding evidence was checked; publication does not imply that every source was rechecked that day.

“Documented” means the provider describes the capability. A named plan is shown only where we recorded tier evidence. “Not confirmed” means the evidence is insufficient, not that the feature is absent. Paid add-ons and higher-tier restrictions are stated separately. Conflicting billing information prevents a unit-cost estimate.

Recommendations are editorial judgments about fit and cost. Sources are linked next to the claims they support, and every calculation uses the assumptions above.
