BDOW! vs Picreel.
An email list or a pipeline of sales leads?
Compare BDOW! and Picreel for confirmed subscribers, sales lead exports, email follow-up and the costs of contact storage versus pageviews.
What do you need your website to do next?
A newsletter publisher wants a reader to confirm their address and receive the next issue. A sales team wants an enquiry to reach the right CRM record with enough information to follow up. Either team can start with a popup, but it is buying a different outcome.
BDOW! combines signup forms, optional double opt-in and native sends for one site. Picreel can carry hidden context into the enquiry, export leads to CSV or Excel and let a read-only user inspect campaigns and leads.
How the comparison works
15 rounds compare both platforms against the same 196 capability criteria, with 100 points distributed across the sections. Each round explains the practical differences and adds to the running score. The table beneath each round shows how the points are awarded. The conclusions bring those results together for different uses of the platforms.
Formats & content
BDOW! combines popups with Smart Bars, Scroll Boxes, countdowns and a reopening tab. CTA campaigns can send visitors to a page without collecting an email, making them useful for a sale or download. Picreel builds promotional and lead-capture campaigns with animated entrances. Business adds countdowns and gamification. A message with a destination button can announce an update without requiring an email signup.

Forms
BDOW! collects custom text and choice fields, hidden context and consent. Site-level double opt-in waits for email confirmation before admitting the new subscriber to the list. Picreel provides phone, written-answer, choice, consent and hidden inputs. Its practical role is a straightforward lead form rather than a full contact-and-follow-up workspace.

Surveys
BDOW! forms collect written answers, single choices and checkbox groups. Those inputs can gather simple preferences, but a choice field alone does not establish a scored quiz or conditional recommendation journey. Picreel forms include written answers, radio buttons and dropdowns. These can capture a preference during signup, but do not by themselves establish a recommendation quiz, score calculation or branching survey.

Gamification
A BDOW! offer can reward a signup with a discount. A weighted wheel or another chance-based prize mechanic remains unconfirmed. Picreel places games on Business. Compare game selection and prize controls with that tier rather than the Essentials entry offer.

Targeting
BDOW! uses URL, device, location and date rules, plus exit intent, timers and a click trigger. Its frequency controls can distinguish subscribers and opted-out visitors. Picreel provides URL inclusion and exclusion, device and country rules, new or returning visitor conditions and cookies. Exit, delay, scroll and CSS-selector clicks control the opening moment, with repeat display from once to monthly.

Experiments
BDOW! Pro exposes traffic percentages for variants. Picreel’s trial exposed campaign testing, but its broad Free description conflicts with the detailed paid-tier matrix. Establish ongoing test access before committing to an annual package. BDOW! Pro supports popup A/B tests. The operator can adjust the percentage of traffic sent to each variant and compare conversions on the tests dashboard. Picreel’s trial lets you select two to five campaigns for a comparison test. Its public Free overview and paid tier descriptions disagree on access, with the detailed list placing A/B testing in Enterprise.

Email & SMS
BDOW! can hold the subscriber outside the list until email confirmation. A Picreel lead export records captures. Comparing those totals as if they were confirmed newsletter subscribers would give a misleading conversion rate. Pro combines form capture with native email sends. A success notification can alert the team, while an autoresponse can deliver the subscriber’s welcome message. Picreel sends captured leads to external email services, so the chosen destination is part of the workflow.

BDOW! grants access per site and distinguishes Users from Admins; administration includes billing and user management. Additional sites need separate Pro subscriptions. Picreel Business lists five domains and unlimited users. Read-only users can inspect campaigns, leads and tests without access to billing or account settings.

Developer
BDOW! Pro includes outgoing webhooks for subscription data. A submission webhook moves a response into another system; it does not give an external assistant control over campaign design or publication. Picreel provides a Webhook integration for lead delivery, while its published Enterprise offer lists API access and callbacks. Match the required operation to the plan; sending a lead is different from creating a campaign externally.

Support
The dashboard reserves live chat for paying accounts. For an existing Free user, the account notice sets November 9, 2026 as the end of legacy free access. Picreel Enterprise lists 24/7 chat, email and phone support, an account manager and training. Those services should not be attached to the Essentials entry price.

Editor & workflow
BDOW! saves campaigns as drafts before publication. Its current Pro subscription includes the campaign tools, while the legacy Free plan is scheduled to end on November 9, 2026. Picreel lets you edit copy and layout through ProProfs AI, save a campaign switched off and activate it separately. Trial access can expose controls from higher tiers, so choose the paid package around the tools required for ongoing campaigns.

Data & reporting
A site owner can export subscribers to CSV. With double opt-in enabled, a completed form and a confirmed list member are counted at different stages. Picreel can export captured leads as CSV or Excel. Google Analytics provides a separate event-reporting route, while Enterprise offers lead retrieval and enrichment through its API.

Integrations
BDOW! offers email destinations such as Mailchimp, Klaviyo and MailerLite, plus Zapier, webhooks and FormSync. A site-wide destination can be overridden by a campaign. Picreel lists email platforms, HubSpot and Salesforce, with Zapier extending the available destinations; Enterprise lists API access, callbacks and webhooks.

|---|---|---|
| +0.13 MailerLite, ActiveCampaign, Constant Contact, Flodesk, Kit, GetResponse, VerticalResponse: Set a site-wide destination, then override it for individual campaigns where needed. Standard, custom and hidden fields accompany the email address. Requires paid Pro / Plus. Mailchimp: Connect Mailchimp and choose an audience globally or per campaign. Coordinate BDOW! and Mailchimp confirmation settings to avoid duplicate opt-in emails. Requires paid Pro / Plus. | +0.13 ActiveCampaign, Constant Contact, Marketo, AWeber: Send contact information collected by Picreel campaigns to an external marketing platform. The connection handles lead delivery; newsletters and sales follow-up run in the receiving service. Klaviyo: Picreel lists Klaviyo, but its setup link leads to Zapier instructions. Confirm the direct or bridge route, receiving list and supported fields before planning follow-up. Mailchimp: Enter the API key and list ID, then assign the Picreel campaign. The connection sends both previously collected leads and future submissions to that audience. | |

Shopify
A general popup on a store is different from access to its customers, cart and discounts. BDOW!’s integration guide describes Shopify connectivity as being updated, so that connection is not treated as ready here. Picreel’s general capture features do not establish cart and customer operations. A store offer that needs more than contact collection should follow the individual store checks.

Pricing
BDOW! Pro starts at $25 monthly for one site and 1,000 stored contacts. Picreel Essentials uses a 50,000-pageview allowance billed annually. A growing archive of subscribers affects the first budget differently from a spike in traffic. BDOW! Pro costs $25 per month for one site and 1,000 stored contacts, with unlimited native email sends. Each additional site requires its own subscription. Picreel Essentials advertises $9.99 per month billed annually for 50,000 pageviews and one domain; Business is $39.99 for 200,000 pageviews and five domains. Branding removal is a separate $300 per year.

What matters most to you?
Let’s put your priorities first
First, check that each tool can do the task. An absent or unconfirmed required capability means a dash with an explanation instead of a scenario score, and no winner highlight. Only qualifying tools share the points; a sole qualifier earns the full weight of each criterion it meets. 70 points go to the criteria directly related to it, and 30 to everything else. For “Popups without email marketing”, all 100 points go to the included capabilities and relevant popup pricing scenarios; unwanted features and email sending have zero weight. Both tools earn points for confirmed capabilities; unconfirmed ones earn zero. The first row keeps the original overall score.

How the comparison works
These scores are relative to BDOW! and Picreel in this comparison. They cannot be carried over to comparisons with other products: each tool’s points depend on what the other participant offers.
Relative scores, not universal ratings
The same capability earns half the points when both tools have it, and all the points when only one does. Changing the opponent can therefore change a product’s score without changing the product itself. The review pages separately show absolute capability ratings without price.
One shared pool of 100 points
The 15 rounds cover 196 criteria. Each round has a set weight, divided equally among its criteria. These weights are our editorial choices.
How features earn points
If both products meet a criterion, they split its points equally. If only one does, it earns all of them. An unconfirmed capability earns zero. If neither qualifies, those points are not awarded, so the two totals can add up to less than 100.
How prices earn points
Ten scenarios carry 1 point each. We use the cheapest confirmed plan meeting each scenario’s traffic and feature requirements, billed monthly in USD. Equal prices split the point; a plan costing half as much earns twice the share. A free qualifying plan beats a paid one. If only one suitable plan and price are confirmed, it earns the full point.
Which plans count
Feature rounds cover capabilities across the products’ plans. The total does not describe a single subscription; the pricing scenarios identify the plan needed for each stated use case.
How your priorities change the score
A tool must first meet the task’s required capabilities. If a requirement is absent or unconfirmed, its scenario score is shown as a dash and it cannot be the winner; the status explains why. Only qualifying tools participate in point allocation and price comparisons. A sole qualifying tool earns the full weight of each criterion it meets; criteria it does not meet remain unearned. Standard priorities assign 70 points to their relevant criteria and 30 to the rest, preserving relative weights within each group. “Popups without email marketing” instead distributes all 100 points among its included criteria, preserving their relative weights and giving everything else zero. It includes lead capture, testing, reporting and external handoff. Its pricing criteria exclude email sending and feedback workloads. Included email features carry no penalty: only the required plan price counts. The evidence and scoring rules stay the same. The overall-feature row keeps the original weights.
