CWILL vs Pop Convert.
Shopify campaigns, email and testing.

Compare CWILL / EcomSend and Pop Convert for Shopify signup campaigns, announcements, customer targeting and native email. One scales by new subscribers and sends; the other prices paid access by your Shopify plan.

What do you need your website to do next?

CWILL and Pop Convert both combine Shopify signup forms, standalone notices, prize wheels, customer targeting and email follow-up. Pop Convert adds AI-assisted popup design and confirmed popup A/B testing; CWILL offers unique per-subscription Shopify codes. Both provide revenue reporting and subscriber notifications.

Both can show a shipping notice without collecting an email. In CWILL, hide the signup fields and action buttons to leave a message with a close control. Its sticky discount bar remains a separate post-subscription format.

The subscriptions also grow differently. CWILL increases new-subscriber and sending allowances across tiers. Pop Convert ties paid pricing to the store’s Shopify plan, with account-specific Free limits and trial terms. The comparison below keeps those limits separate from the tools available in the editor.

How the comparison works

15 rounds compare both platforms against the same 194 capability criteria, with 100 points distributed across the sections. Each round explains the practical differences and adds to the running score. The table beneath each round shows how the points are awarded. The conclusions bring those results together for different uses of the platforms.

Round 019 points

Formats & content

CWILL can show a standalone message by hiding signup fields and action buttons. It also offers a sidebar launcher and a sticky discount bar after subscription; that bar is separate from a general announcement shown to every visitor. Pop Convert combines smart bars with standalone announcements, countdowns and a floating button that reopens a popup. It can also trigger a follow-on campaign after another display closes or submits.

Forms

CWILL adds phone capture, separate GDPR marketing and TCPA SMS consent fields, and double opt-in before revealing a reward. Pop Convert offers phone, text, text area, radio, dropdown and checkbox-group inputs, plus consent controls. CWILL is the clearer fit for the confirmed subscription-confirmation journey; Pop Convert offers more documented answer formats for collecting preferences or feedback alongside a signup.

Surveys

CWILL’s confirmed form controls focus on subscriber capture, phone numbers and marketing consent. A signup incentive should not be treated as a survey system simply because it asks a visitor to interact before receiving an offer. Pop Convert supports text areas, radio groups, dropdowns and checkbox groups for feedback or preferences. These inputs extend a signup form, but conditional survey paths and calculated outcomes remain separate capabilities.

Gamification

Both tools offer a prize wheel with configurable reward probabilities. Pop Convert uses relative win ratios; CWILL documents a Chance control for each reward and can generate unique Shopify discount codes. A wheel label does not establish a losing outcome. Check probability settings separately from the reward and redemption rules; CWILL also offers email confirmation before revealing a reward.

Targeting

CWILL supports selected pages, devices, country inclusion or exclusion, a scheduled period and limits on repeat display to non-subscribers. Its mobile exit intent uses an upward scroll of 5%. CWILL also targets new or returning visitors, Shopify tags and purchases in the last 60 days. Pop Convert offers B2B status, total spend and order count, and can launch a follow-on campaign after another display closes or submits. Choose around the actual audience and sequence your offer needs.

Experiments

Pop Convert compares two saved campaigns in an A/B test on Growth / Unlimited. CWILL does not have an equivalent confirmed popup test workflow in the shared criteria. If the team plans regular tests of incentives or layouts, that is a practical reason to consider Pop Convert. Test availability still does not imply custom traffic weighting, automatic winners or a no-popup holdout.

Email & SMS

CWILL offers multi-email welcome sequences with delays and presets for unused discounts, abandoned carts, purchases and back-in-stock notices. Pro adds custom conditions and branching; Essential includes a custom sending domain and 5,000 monthly emails. Pop Convert also provides signup responses, delayed welcome sequences and store-event flows. Pop Convert’s paid offer lists unlimited emails. CWILL’s matrix includes presets on Free, although its Essential card presents them as an upgrade. Confirm sending access alongside the monthly allowance, especially when configuring an account that has not selected a paid plan.

Team & sites

Pop Convert’s account offers linking up to five additional Shopify stores under one billing account without separate linked-store charges; its public plan wording describes up to five stores. Confirm the applicable store total for your account. CWILL’s reviewed offer focuses on an individual store’s subscriber and sending allowances. Neither store coverage nor a higher email tier establishes granular staff permissions, so treat colleague access as a separate requirement.

Developer

CWILL connects new subscribers to Shopify Customers and can trigger Shopify Flow. This is a store automation route; it does not establish a separate interface for an external agent to edit or publish popup campaigns. Pop Convert posts form submissions to configured webhook URLs. Its AI assistant works inside the editor; outgoing lead delivery does not establish external campaign creation, editing or activation by an agent.

Editor & workflow

CWILL lets you build opt-in popups in a Free account and keep them switched off while configuring them. The next buying decision is usually subscriber capacity and email automation rather than access to an initial draft. Pop Convert generates editable copy and design from a prompt, then lets you refine the result visually. Save campaigns paused before publication. Free includes one AI generation; Growth / Unlimited includes unlimited generations.

Data & reporting

CWILL reports popup views, subscriptions, coupon usage and attributed revenue. Pop Convert’s email Flow Analytics reports sends, opens, clicks and revenue. Both can email the team when a visitor subscribes. Compare the same event and attribution window when judging campaign performance. Billing quantities such as new subscribers or sessions are separate from revenue reporting, and an analytics dashboard does not establish a downloadable lead export.

Integrations

CWILL centres on Shopify Customers and Shopify Email, with a Get new subscribers trigger for Shopify Flow. Listing Klaviyo or Mailchimp as compatible does not establish a dedicated field-level connector. Pop Convert has an email-provider catalogue including Klaviyo, Omnisend and Mailchimp, plus HubSpot and submission webhooks. Choose CWILL for a store-native subscriber workflow; choose Pop Convert when a named external destination is part of the brief.

What matters most to you?

Let’s put your priorities first

First, check that each tool can do the task. An absent or unconfirmed required capability means a dash with an explanation instead of a scenario score, and no winner highlight. Only qualifying tools share the points; a sole qualifier earns the full weight of each criterion it meets. 70 points go to the criteria directly related to it, and 30 to everything else. For “Popups without email marketing”, all 100 points go to the included capabilities and relevant popup pricing scenarios; unwanted features and email sending have zero weight. Both tools earn points for confirmed capabilities; unconfirmed ones earn zero. The first row keeps the original overall score.

How the comparison works

These scores are relative to CWILL and Pop Convert in this comparison. They cannot be carried over to comparisons with other products: each tool’s points depend on what the other participant offers.

  1. Relative scores, not universal ratings

The same capability earns half the points when both tools have it, and all the points when only one does. Changing the opponent can therefore change a product’s score without changing the product itself. The review pages separately show absolute capability ratings without price.

  2. One shared pool of 100 points

The 15 rounds cover 194 criteria. Each round has a set weight, divided equally among its criteria. These weights are our editorial choices.

  3. How features earn points

If both products meet a criterion, they split its points equally. If only one does, it earns all of them. An unconfirmed capability earns zero. If neither qualifies, those points are not awarded, so the two totals can add up to less than 100.

  4. How prices earn points

Ten scenarios carry 1 point each. We use the cheapest confirmed plan meeting each scenario’s traffic and feature requirements, billed monthly in USD. Equal prices split the point; a plan costing half as much earns twice the share. A free qualifying plan beats a paid one. If only one suitable plan and price are confirmed, it earns the full point.

  5. Which plans count

Feature rounds cover capabilities across the products’ plans. The total does not describe a single subscription; the pricing scenarios identify the plan needed for each stated use case.

  6. How your priorities change the score

A tool must first meet the task’s required capabilities. If a requirement is absent or unconfirmed, its scenario score is shown as a dash and it cannot be the winner; the status explains why. Only qualifying tools participate in point allocation and price comparisons. A sole qualifying tool earns the full weight of each criterion it meets; criteria it does not meet remain unearned. Standard priorities assign 70 points to their relevant criteria and 30 to the rest, preserving relative weights within each group. “Popups without email marketing” instead distributes all 100 points among its included criteria, preserving their relative weights and giving everything else zero. It includes lead capture, testing, reporting and external handoff. Its pricing criteria exclude email sending and feedback workloads. Included email features carry no penalty: only the required plan price counts. The evidence and scoring rules stay the same. The overall-feature row keeps the original weights.
