Getsitecontrol vs Picreel.
A broader workflow or a focused capture tool?

Compare Getsitecontrol vs Picreel: popup forms, targeting, games, integrations, pricing and task-based ratings. See the differences that affect your campaign.

What do you need your website to do next?

Getsitecontrol and Picreel both support notices and contact capture, but their useful buying comparison starts with the campaign rather than the entry price. Getsitecontrol combines forms, games and native email. Picreel packages a focused capture tool with additional capabilities distributed across paid tiers.

A simple exit-triggered email offer can use a much smaller feature set than a feedback form with conditional questions. Getsitecontrol supplies dedicated rating inputs and branching; Picreel’s text and choice fields can collect preferences without establishing the same survey workflow.

Pricing also changes once branding, experiments or support enter the brief. Picreel lists a separate branding-removal charge, while its test access has conflicting public descriptions. The scenario table keeps confirmed costs separate from unresolved plan conditions.

How the comparison works

15 rounds compare both platforms against the same 196 capability criteria, with 100 points distributed across the sections. Each round explains the practical differences and adds to the running score. The table beneath each round shows how the points are awarded. The conclusions bring those results together for different uses of the platforms.

Formats & content

Getsitecontrol builds standalone notices, slide-ins and bars, with teasers, countdowns and dynamic text. Desktop and mobile styles can be adjusted separately. Picreel builds promotional and lead-capture campaigns with animated entrances. Business adds countdowns and gamification. A message with a destination button can announce an update without requiring an email signup.

Forms

Getsitecontrol supports a more varied response journey, including conditional questions. Picreel’s familiar contact and choice inputs suit straightforward capture. Getsitecontrol collects email, phone, text, single-choice and multiple-choice answers. It adds star, NPS, emoji and binary ratings, hidden values and consent checkboxes. Conditional fields and page branching tailor the next question to an earlier answer. Double opt-in verifies email ownership, while reCAPTCHA screens suspicious submissions. Picreel provides phone, written-answer, choice, consent and hidden inputs. Its practical role is a straightforward lead form rather than a full contact-and-follow-up workspace.

Surveys

Dedicated ratings are a concrete Getsitecontrol distinction. A Picreel preference field can be useful without functioning as a scored or branching survey. Getsitecontrol collects feedback with NPS, star, emoji and binary ratings inside widgets. Picreel forms include written answers, radio buttons and dropdowns. These can capture a preference during signup, but do not by themselves establish a recommendation quiz, score calculation or branching survey.

Gamification

Getsitecontrol offers a prize wheel, a scratch card and a tap-to-reveal card. Prize settings include codes and relative weights, with replay controls. The wheel adds spin duration and a pause after spinning; the scratch card sets how much of the cover must be removed. Picreel places games on Business. Compare game selection and prize controls with that tier rather than the Essentials entry offer.

Targeting

Both offer common opening triggers and audience rules. The selection should follow the exact conditions needed for the campaign, rather than exit intent alone. Getsitecontrol combines page, device, location, referral and visitor conditions, including Shopify cart data. Widgets can open after a delay, on scroll or on exit intent. Repeat-display settings respond to a view, closure or action; schedules use dates, hours and weekdays. Picreel provides URL inclusion and exclusion, device and country rules, new or returning visitor conditions and cookies. Exit, delay, scroll and CSS-selector clicks control the opening moment, with repeat display from once to monthly.

Experiments

Getsitecontrol documents widget tests on Pro. Picreel’s conflicting plan descriptions mean trial access should not be treated as a confirmed long-term entitlement. Getsitecontrol Pro runs widget A/B tests with random visitor assignment and reports views, actions and click-through rate for each variant. Tests end manually. Its separate email-broadcast testing can select a winning email, which does not establish an automatic winner for popup tests. Picreel’s trial lets you select two to five campaigns for a comparison test. Its public Free overview and paid tier descriptions disagree on access, with the detailed list placing A/B testing in Enterprise.

Email & SMS

Getsitecontrol has its own email editor, broadcasts, contact segments and automations. A form submission can start a welcome sequence; workflows can add delays, apply conditions and respond to contact or store events. Email sends are billed as credits separately from widget views. Picreel sends captured leads to external email services, so the chosen destination is part of the workflow.

Getsitecontrol assigns None, View, Edit or Full access separately to widgets, emails and contacts on each site. Edit allows drafting; Full adds actions such as activation, sending or exports. Account admins can manage billing, sites and users, while only the owner can delete the account. Sites have separate subscriptions. Picreel Business lists five domains and unlimited users. Integrations

Getsitecontrol connects forms to email services, CRM destinations, Google Sheets, Zapier and analytics. Field mapping passes form, system and static values to the destination. Webhooks provide another route for submissions, and its own contact list can power native email campaigns. Picreel lists email platforms, HubSpot and Salesforce, with Zapier extending the available destinations; Enterprise lists API access, callbacks and webhooks.

Shopify

Getsitecontrol uses Shopify cart and customer parameters in targeting, and widget buttons can add a product to the cart or apply a discount. The main GSC Email Marketing + Popups app also connects store events to email workflows. The separate GSC Popup, Email Pop Up app carries the Built for Shopify badge and supports Shopify Flow; neither earns points for Getsitecontrol. Picreel’s general capture features do not establish cart and customer operations. A store offer that needs more than contact collection should follow the individual store checks.

Pricing

Picreel’s annual entry equivalent is attractive for a narrow setup, but branding removal and feature upgrades change the total. Getsitecontrol’s monthly site subscription and optional email credits form a different bill. Getsitecontrol Free includes 10,000 widget views per month. Pro costs $19 per month per site for 100,000 views; Pro Max costs $29 for unlimited views. Email credits are separate, so a popup-only bill and a popup-plus-email bill are different calculations. Picreel Essentials advertises $9.99 per month billed annually for 50,000 pageviews and one domain; Business is $39.99 for 200,000 pageviews and five domains. Branding removal is a separate $300 per year.

Getsitecontrol fits campaigns that combine capture with conditional questions, feedback or native email. Picreel is worth considering for a narrower promotional form when its plan covers the needed controls. What matters most to you?

Let’s put your priorities first

First, check that each tool can do the task. An absent or unconfirmed required capability means a dash with an explanation instead of a scenario score, and no winner highlight. Only qualifying tools share the points; a sole qualifier earns the full weight of each criterion it meets. 70 points go to the criteria directly related to it, and 30 to everything else. For “Popups without email marketing”, all 100 points go to the included capabilities and relevant popup pricing scenarios; unwanted features and email sending have zero weight. Both tools earn points for confirmed capabilities; unconfirmed ones earn zero. The first row keeps the original overall score.

How the comparison works

These scores are relative to Getsitecontrol and Picreel in this comparison. They cannot be carried over to comparisons with other products: each tool’s points depend on what the other participant offers.

  1. Relative scores, not universal ratings

The same capability earns half the points when both tools have it, and all the points when only one does. Changing the opponent can therefore change a product’s score without changing the product itself. The review pages separately show absolute capability ratings without price.

  2. One shared pool of 100 points

The 15 rounds cover 196 criteria. Each round has a set weight, divided equally among its criteria. These weights are our editorial choices.

  3. How features earn points

If both products meet a criterion, they split its points equally. If only one does, it earns all of them. An unconfirmed capability earns zero. If neither qualifies, those points are not awarded, so the two totals can add up to less than 100.

  4. How prices earn points

Ten scenarios carry 1 point each. We use the cheapest confirmed plan meeting each scenario’s traffic and feature requirements, billed monthly in USD. Equal prices split the point; a plan costing half as much earns twice the share. A free qualifying plan beats a paid one. If only one suitable plan and price are confirmed, it earns the full point.

  5. Which plans count

Feature rounds cover capabilities across the products’ plans. The total does not describe a single subscription; the pricing scenarios identify the plan needed for each stated use case.

  6. How your priorities change the score

A tool must first meet the task’s required capabilities. If a requirement is absent or unconfirmed, its scenario score is shown as a dash and it cannot be the winner; the status explains why. Only qualifying tools participate in point allocation and price comparisons. A sole qualifying tool earns the full weight of each criterion it meets; criteria it does not meet remain unearned. Standard priorities assign 70 points to their relevant criteria and 30 to the rest, preserving relative weights within each group. “Popups without email marketing” instead distributes all 100 points among its included criteria, preserving their relative weights and giving everything else zero. It includes lead capture, testing, reporting and external handoff. Its pricing criteria exclude email sending and feedback workloads. Included email features carry no penalty: only the required plan price counts. The evidence and scoring rules stay the same. The overall-feature row keeps the original weights.
