Elfsight vs POWR.
Widget loads or form submissions?

Compare Elfsight Popup and POWR Popup for notices, signup forms and response delivery. Widget slots, submission caps and separate Shopify pricing matter more than the size of either app catalogue.

What do you need your website to do next?

Elfsight and POWR both sell a broad collection of website apps, but this comparison is about their Popup products. A feature in another widget or a large bundle should not be assumed to belong to the small popup subscription you are considering.

Elfsight is a practical candidate for a few notices or forms, with conditional field visibility and direct spreadsheet delivery. POWR is relevant when captured responses should reach Shopify Customers or trigger an automatic reply. The account offer matters because POWR’s standalone and Shopify packages differ.

The cost comparison starts with the unit being counted. Elfsight charges by widget loads and saved widget slots. The listed POWR Shopify tiers count submissions; Starter does not increase the free submission allowance. Plan the campaign volume before comparing the prices.

How the comparison works

15 rounds compare both platforms against the same 194 capability criteria, with 100 points distributed across the sections. Each round explains the practical differences and adds to the running score. The table beneath each round shows how the points are awarded. The conclusions bring those results together for different uses of the platforms.

Formats & content

Elfsight Popup can show information with text, an image and a close control, without a form or action button. It also includes a timer and element-level device visibility. Announcement Bar is a separate Elfsight app. POWR Popup focuses on signup and discount campaigns, with a floating tab or button to reopen the widget. Its standalone editor and Shopify offer have different packaging, so match a display control to the subscription you will use.

Forms

Elfsight Popup supports phone, text, hidden, choice and dropdown fields, multiple selections, consent and required inputs. Conditional visibility can show a field based on another answer. POWR’s confirmed Popup evidence covers email capture and a Terms & Conditions checkbox. For a more detailed enquiry form, Elfsight has the clearer confirmed field coverage; for simple contact capture, check the downstream response workflow as well as the visible inputs.

Surveys

Elfsight Popup forms offer text, choice and dropdown fields, multiple selection and conditional field visibility. This supports questions that depend on earlier answers, while result scoring and product recommendations are separate requirements. POWR’s confirmed Popup workflow centres on contact capture and consent. A wider catalogue of form apps should not be read as a promise that every survey operation is included in the Popup product or its selected plan.

Gamification

Neither Popup product has a confirmed reward-game library in this comparison. A coupon displayed after signup is not the same as a wheel with weighted prizes or a scratch reveal. If the brief needs chance-based interaction, compare a tool with the relevant game controls rather than purchasing a broad widget bundle on the assumption that its Popup app includes them.

Targeting

Elfsight combines page and device rules with scheduling, frequency, page-load, delay, scroll, exit and element-click triggers. Elements can have separate desktop and mobile visibility. POWR’s standalone editor offers immediate and scroll display, with exit, delay, inactivity, custom click and frequency controls marked as upgrades. A mobile-only content change is different from simply hiding a popup on phones, so specify which behaviour you need.

Experiments

The shared criteria do not establish a native Popup A/B workflow for either product. Duplicating a widget or manually changing its headline does not produce a controlled traffic split. For occasional notices that may be acceptable; for regular conversion experiments, a dedicated testing workflow should be a buying requirement rather than something inferred from the ability to save several designs.

Email & SMS

POWR documents an automatic response after submission, but access differs: the Shopify listing advertises it on Free, while the standalone Popup comparison requires Pro. Elfsight Popup delivers form data to destinations such as Mailchimp. An autoresponder serves a different job from a newsletter platform with broadcasts and multi-step journeys. Choose the response you need, then budget the sending system that actually performs it.

Team & sites

Elfsight Pro includes one collaborator and three projects; Premium includes three collaborators and nine projects with project-only sharing. Project members cannot create or delete widgets or manage billing, and custom project roles are not supported. POWR’s reviewed Popup offer does not establish equivalent team permissions. Elfsight is therefore the clearer option when a contractor should edit an assigned project without receiving full account control.

Developer

Elfsight Popup forwards form responses to a supplied endpoint and supports automation connections. These submission routes move visitor data; they do not establish external control over widget configuration or publication. POWR uses documented response integrations and Zapier to connect campaigns to other services. A response trigger can start an external workflow without establishing an API for changing the popup itself.

Support

Elfsight moves from basic support on Basic to priority support on Pro and live chat on Premium. POWR lists email support on Free and live chat on Starter. That makes POWR Starter relevant for the channel even though its Shopify submission limit stays at 25. Compare support and capacity separately: the cheapest chat plan is not necessarily sufficient for the number of forms you expect to collect.

Editor & workflow

Elfsight separates content, layout and style in its Popup editor. Plan selection depends on saved widget slots and loads; a subscription to Popup does not include every other app in the Elfsight catalogue. POWR’s standalone Free editor saves changes automatically while keeping Publish as a separate action. Advanced display controls and welcome email are upgrade features in that offer; editor access does not include every visible control.

Data & reporting

For both products, a response destination can become part of the reporting workflow. Elfsight’s billed widget load should not be labelled a visible popup impression; it can be counted before someone actually sees the message. POWR’s submission allowance counts a different event again. Keep traffic, displayed messages and completed forms separate when assessing campaign performance and the next required upgrade.

Integrations

Elfsight Popup has direct Mailchimp and Google Sheets routes, with Zapier, Make and a supplied webhook endpoint for additional workflows. POWR documents Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Google Sheets, store-contact sync and Zapier’s New Response trigger. For a spreadsheet-led enquiry workflow, both have a relevant route. For Shopify customer delivery, POWR provides specific documentation; confirm its integration access against the standalone, Shopify or usage-based offer in your account.

Shopify

POWR has a native Shopify app and documents synchronising contacts to Shopify Customers, with access depending on its billing model. Elfsight’s Popup feature set does not establish the same store-data operations. Installation is only the start: customer sync is different from reading cart contents, generating discounts or adding products. Choose POWR for the documented contact route, without treating that route as a complete ecommerce toolkit.

Pricing

Elfsight Basic costs $6 monthly for three widgets and 5,000 loads; Pro is $12 for nine widgets and 50,000 loads. Reaching the load limit temporarily deactivates the app. POWR’s Shopify Free and $7.04 Starter tiers both allow 25 submissions, while $15.29 Pro raises this to 1,000. Standalone Pro instead lists $15.84 monthly or $11.87 per month billed yearly. Do not combine standalone feature access with Shopify prices or assume a submission plan guarantees unlimited announcement traffic.

The final score

Choose Elfsight Popup for information-only notices, conditional form fields and a small set of widgets with a clear load budget. Choose POWR when its Shopify customer sync or response workflow fits the store, using the correct account offer. Elfsight’s load ceiling and POWR’s submission ceiling can each force an upgrade for very different reasons.

What matters most to you?

Let’s put your priorities first

First, check that each tool can do the task. An absent or unconfirmed required capability means a dash with an explanation instead of a scenario score, and no winner highlight. Only qualifying tools share the points; a sole qualifier earns the full weight of each criterion it meets. 70 points go to the criteria directly related to it, and 30 to everything else. For “Popups without email marketing”, all 100 points go to the included capabilities and relevant popup pricing scenarios; unwanted features and email sending have zero weight. Both tools earn points for confirmed capabilities; unconfirmed ones earn zero. The first row keeps the original overall score.

How the comparison works

These scores are relative to Elfsight and POWR in this comparison. They cannot be carried over to comparisons with other products: each tool’s points depend on what the other participant offers.

  1. Relative scores, not universal ratings

The same capability earns half the points when both tools have it, and all the points when only one does. Changing the opponent can therefore change a product’s score without changing the product itself. The review pages separately show absolute capability ratings without price.

  2. One shared pool of 100 points

The 15 rounds cover 194 criteria. Each round has a set weight, divided equally among its criteria. These weights are our editorial choices.

  3. How features earn points

If both products meet a criterion, they split its points equally. If only one does, it earns all of them. An unconfirmed capability earns zero. If neither qualifies, those points are not awarded, so the two totals can add up to less than 100.

  4. How prices earn points

Ten scenarios carry 1 point each. We use the cheapest confirmed plan meeting each scenario’s traffic and feature requirements, billed monthly in USD. Equal prices split the point; a plan costing half as much earns twice the share. A free qualifying plan beats a paid one. If only one suitable plan and price are confirmed, it earns the full point.

  5. Which plans count

Feature rounds cover capabilities across the products’ plans. The total does not describe a single subscription; the pricing scenarios identify the plan needed for each stated use case.

  6. How your priorities change the score

A tool must first meet the task’s required capabilities. If a requirement is absent or unconfirmed, its scenario score is shown as a dash and it cannot be the winner; the status explains why. Only qualifying tools participate in point allocation and price comparisons. A sole qualifying tool earns the full weight of each criterion it meets; criteria it does not meet remain unearned. Standard priorities assign 70 points to their relevant criteria and 30 to the rest, preserving relative weights within each group. “Popups without email marketing” instead distributes all 100 points among its included criteria, preserving their relative weights and giving everything else zero. It includes lead capture, testing, reporting and external handoff. Its pricing criteria exclude email sending and feedback workloads. Included email features carry no penalty: only the required plan price counts. The evidence and scoring rules stay the same. The overall-feature row keeps the original weights.
