Elfsight Popup

24.21
Official website

Site owners who need a few promotional or signup widgets and value using the same provider for other site widgets. Capacity is measured in widget loads.

Who is this app for?
Site owners needing a few signup or promotional widgets with a small subscription and no complex campaign operation.
Main advantage
Basic removes branding and provides three Popup widgets for $6/month. Widget slots and capacity grow together on higher plans.
Main limitation
A billed view is a widget load, not necessarily a visible popup. The Popup subscription does not buy the whole widget catalog.

Pricing and plans

Elfsight Popup plans scale by widget loads and saved widgets. The subscription applies to the Popup app. Loads and saved widget slots can each force an upgrade. Page-targeting rules do not establish that only visible popups are billed, so compare loads rather than assuming a display-only meter.

Monthly prices. Reaching the load limit temporarily deactivates the app; annual subscriptions have different rates.

Features and plan access

Elfsight Popup provides timer blocks and simple feedback fields alongside promotional content. Basic supplies three unbranded widgets, which can be enough for a small site with a few recurring messages. This is a subscription to Popup, not the entire Elfsight widget catalogue.

Native Popup forms do not support multi-step forms. Embedding Form Builder introduces another paid subscription, so that workaround should not be counted as an included Popup feature. Higher tiers mainly add loads, widget slots and account capabilities; choose them for the limits or collaboration you actually need.

Formats & content

Build an information-only popup with text, an image and a close control. Hide the template's action button and leave the whole-popup link empty.

Frequency rules and page targeting can limit where a promotional popup appears and how often it repeats. A billed view is a widget load, however, not necessarily a visible message. The separate Announcement Bar app is another product, so its capabilities should not be assumed in the Popup subscription.

Forms

Elfsight Popup’s form controls include email capture, phone field, single choice, multiple choice, and free text. Control a form field's visibility based on values entered in other fields. Mark a native form field as required. The useful distinction is between collecting a contact and qualifying it: extra questions, consent and the next step after submission shape the signup flow. Phone-number collection and permission to send marketing messages are separate requirements.

Surveys

Elfsight Popup has no confirmed capabilities in this section in the current review. Choose the response format around the question you want to answer. A recommendation score, a satisfaction rating and a quiz outcome serve different purposes; support for one does not imply the others or an automatic report.

Gamification

The game is the way an offer is revealed; prize configuration and the signup flow determine what the visitor actually receives. Experiments

A useful comparison also considers traffic allocation, how a winner is selected and whether a no-popup control is available to measure the effect of showing a campaign at all.

Email & SMS

Elfsight Popup has no confirmed capabilities in this section in the current review. Capturing an address in a popup and sending a marketing campaign are separate jobs. Compare native sending channels, automation and their allowances independently from the popup subscription; an integration with a mailing platform does not include that platform’s sending service.

Team & sites

Pro includes one collaborator and three projects. Premium includes three collaborators and nine projects, with project-only sharing. These capabilities sit above Basic, our pick for a small set of widgets maintained without that collaboration requirement.

Project members cannot create or delete widgets or manage billing, and custom roles within a project are not supported. Choose Premium when project-scoped access is important. More widget slots on their own do not describe who may edit each client’s content.

Developer

Elfsight Popup has no confirmed capabilities in this section in the current review. The scope of each interface matters more than the API label. Opening an existing popup, sending a submitted form to an endpoint and creating or publishing campaigns are different operations. Agent access depends on those operations and the permissions exposed.

Support

Elfsight lists basic support on Basic, priority support on Pro and live chat on Premium. Enterprise tiers add an account manager. These distinctions matter if chat is a purchase requirement: the $6 Basic price should not be presented as including Premium’s channel. Hours and response guarantees are not established here, and we have not tested support quality.

Editor & workflow

Elfsight Popup has no confirmed capabilities in this section in the current review. Editing, saving a draft and activating a campaign are separate stages of the workflow. Consider how changes are prepared and reviewed before visitors see them. An AI writing assistant also has a narrower role than an assistant that can change layout or targeting.

Data & reporting

Elfsight Popup has no confirmed capabilities in this section in the current review. Use the reporting workflow to connect captured responses with the decisions you need to make. Integrations

Popup-specific guides cover Mailchimp and direct Google Sheets delivery. Zapier uses a connection token, while Make receives submissions through a webhook URL; a custom endpoint is another option. These routes concern Popup form responses, not features borrowed from another Elfsight widget with its own subscription.

These are Popup-specific connections. Features of Elfsight’s other widgets are not assumed to apply. Exact integration tier restrictions are not established here. Our integration guide explains the connection types and workflows.

Shopify

Shopify-specific capabilities for Elfsight Popup are not confirmed in this review. Installation, customer data, discounts and cart actions are separate capabilities. A Shopify listing alone does not establish support for all of them, and features supplied by a separate app need to be considered with that app’s access and pricing.

Capability score

The capability score brings together the confirmed features in the sections above, excluding pricing. Each metric belongs to one section, and a feature’s score includes its subfeatures. The breakdown shows how much each area contributes and where points remain unearned. It measures feature coverage, rather than conversion performance or value for money.

What one display or signup could cost

At $6.00 per month, the selected plan allocates $0.006 per display and $0.30 per signup across 1,000 displays and 20 valid email signups. The table rounds to cents. The 2% signup rate is an assumption, not measured performance or a vendor charge per event.

The capacity check assumes one site and 2,000 widget loads. Billing is based on widget loads, which is distinct from the actual outcomes used here. For form-free announcements, compare displays rather than signups. Taxes, separately billed services and customer discounts are excluded.

OutcomeCalculationEstimated cost
One display$6.00 ÷ 1,000$0.01
1,000 displays$6.00 ÷ 1,000 × 1,000$6.00
One signup$6.00 ÷ 20$0.30

Elfsight Popup alternatives: which should you choose?

Site owners needing a few signup or promotional widgets with a small subscription and no complex campaign operation. A billed view is a widget load, not necessarily a visible popup. The Popup subscription does not buy the whole widget catalog.

Compare Poptin and Getsitecontrol against that requirement. The cards below explain where each is a better fit. Match the billing unit, required features and site or account limits before comparing headline prices; the cheapest subscription does not always cover the same work.

Elfsight Popup vs Poptin

Elfsight Basic is $6/month for three widgets and 5,000 loads. Poptin Basic is $25/month for unlimited popups on one site with 10,000 visitors.

Choose Poptin
For an expanding capture program with many popup campaigns.
Choose Elfsight Popup
For a small, fixed set of promotional widgets and a lower starting subscription.

Elfsight Popup vs Getsitecontrol

Elfsight charges widget loads. Getsitecontrol Pro is $19/month per site for 100,000 actual displays, and Pro Max is $29 for unlimited views.

Choose Getsitecontrol
When widgets load often but only a small portion of visitors should see a notice.
Choose Elfsight Popup
When three widgets and 5,000 loads are enough for the $6 Basic plan.

About this review

Popup Papa compares published pricing, product documentation and help articles. This is a documentation-based review, not a hands-on performance test. Dates beside sources indicate when the corresponding evidence was checked; publication does not imply that every source was rechecked that day.

“Documented” means the provider describes the capability. A named plan is shown only where we recorded tier evidence. “Not confirmed” means the evidence is insufficient, not that the feature is absent. Paid add-ons and higher-tier restrictions are stated separately. Conflicting billing information prevents a unit-cost estimate.

Recommendations are editorial judgments about fit and cost. Sources are linked next to the claims they support, and every calculation uses the assumptions above.
