What do you need your website to do next?
Getsitecontrol and Wisepops address different levels of campaign ownership. Getsitecontrol combines a self-service widget editor with contacts and email. Wisepops puts onsite campaigns inside a managed offer that includes strategy and production, so the comparison involves who will do the work as well as which controls exist.
Their experiment workflows are especially different. Getsitecontrol provides manually ended widget tests. Wisepops documents traffic allocation, automatic rollout and a no-campaign control on specified plans. A team measuring incremental store revenue may value those controls more than a team comparing two newsletter invitations.
Getsitecontrol also offers several feedback ratings and native email delivery. Wisepops broadens promotional formats with seasonal calendars and keeps captured leads connected to an external sending platform. The tables separate these capabilities from the service scope and billing model.
How the comparison works
15 rounds compare both platforms against the same 196 capability criteria, with 100 points distributed across the sections. Each round explains the practical differences and adds to the running score. The table beneath each round shows how the points are awarded. The conclusions bring those results together for different uses of the platforms.
Formats & content
Getsitecontrol builds standalone notices, slide-ins and bars, with teasers, countdowns and dynamic text. Desktop and mobile styles can be adjusted separately. Wisepops combines onsite campaigns with controls for message content and display. The table distinguishes the individual formats and content features available for a campaign.

Forms
Getsitecontrol adds several dedicated rating inputs; Wisepops combines branching steps with NPS. For a signup, both can collect useful context, but a feedback program should compare the actual answer formats. Getsitecontrol collects email, phone, text, single-choice and multiple-choice answers. It adds star, NPS, emoji and binary ratings, hidden values and consent checkboxes. Conditional fields and page branching tailor the next question to an earlier answer. Double opt-in verifies email ownership, while reCAPTCHA screens suspicious submissions. Wisepops includes email, phone, short and long text, radios, dropdowns, checkboxes and hidden fields. Branch blocks send different answers to different next steps. An email field can block previously collected addresses, and NPS collection is documented.

Gamification
Getsitecontrol offers a prize wheel, a scratch card and a tap-to-reveal card. Prize settings include codes and relative weights, with replay controls. The wheel adds spin duration and a pause after spinning; the scratch card sets how much of the cover must be removed. Wisepops documents wheels, scratch cards, pick-a-box games and seasonal calendars. These broaden the types of promotion beyond a single spin-to-win interaction. Format availability does not establish the same probability and losing-outcome controls for every game.

Targeting
Getsitecontrol combines page, device, location, referral and visitor conditions, including Shopify cart data. Widgets can open after a delay, on scroll or on exit intent. Repeat-display settings respond to a view, closure or action; schedules use dates, hours and weekdays. Wisepops exposes landing, delay, exit, scroll, click, hover and custom-event triggers. Audience controls include regions, traffic source, UTM values, visit history and language. Repeat rules can stop a campaign after signup, click, closure or a display count.

Experiments
Wisepops is the more specialized option for automatic rollout and plan-dependent holdouts. Getsitecontrol provides a simpler manually managed widget test; automatic winners in its email product are a separate feature. Getsitecontrol Pro runs widget A/B tests with random visitor assignment and reports views, actions and click-through rate for each variant. Tests end manually. Its separate email-broadcast testing can select a winning email, which does not establish an automatic winner for popup tests. Wisepops lets an experiment allocate traffic, select a success metric and automatically roll out a winning variant. A no-campaign control is documented for specified newer plans, and detailed results have plan restrictions. Confirm those controls in the service proposal.

Email & SMS
Getsitecontrol can own the welcome sequence and newsletter. Wisepops fits an existing email stack, with onsite feeds and push remaining distinct channels. Getsitecontrol has its own email editor, broadcasts, contact segments and automations. A form submission can start a welcome sequence; workflows can add delays, apply conditions and respond to contact or store events. Email sends are billed as credits separately from widget views. Wisepops’ confirmed email workflow sends captured contacts to an email platform. Its onsite feeds and web push are separate channels and do not establish native email broadcasts or welcome sequences.

Team & sites
Getsitecontrol separates drafting, activation and data access by site. Wisepops combines site-scoped editor access with a managed service, making the division of work with its team part of the decision. Getsitecontrol assigns None, View, Edit or Full access separately to widgets, emails and contacts on each site. Edit allows drafting; Full adds actions such as activation, sending or exports. Account admins can manage billing, sites and users, while only the owner can delete the account. Sites have separate subscriptions. Wisepops offers Admin access to websites, users and billing, and Editor access limited to selected sites. This distinguishes account administration from work on individual websites. The number of sites and the service responsibilities still belong in the proposal.

Developer
Getsitecontrol provides browser hooks for widget actions and webhooks for captured data. These connections are separate from the assistant inside the editor. Wisepops’ API reads campaign identifiers, activation state and performance counts, and exports contacts. JavaScript callbacks connect popup events to site logic. Webhooks deliver email, phone and survey responses with retries.

Support
Getsitecontrol includes live chat on all plans, including Free. Product support covers the widget and email platform; the subscription remains a self-service product rather than a campaign-production retainer. Wisepops includes strategy and campaign production in its managed offering. Agree deliverables, turnaround and who handles urgent changes with that team. The service offer alone does not confirm a particular live-chat entitlement for the shared support criterion.

Data & reporting
Getsitecontrol reports widget views, actions and click-through rates, with breakdowns by page, traffic source, country and device. Responses and contacts can be exported. Email campaigns have their own delivery and engagement reporting. Wisepops’ API returns campaign counts and exports contacts. Experiments support order rate and revenue per visitor, with plan-dependent detailed results. Onsite recommendations and campaign service work should be evaluated against agreed outcomes.

Integrations
Getsitecontrol connects forms to email services, CRM destinations, Google Sheets, Zapier and analytics. Field mapping passes form, system and static values to the destination. Webhooks provide another route for submissions, and its own contact list can power native email campaigns. Wisepops connects to Klaviyo and other email providers, including Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign and Brevo, as well as CRMs and SMS platforms. Analytics, Zapier and webhooks support additional routes. Google Sheets is a Zapier workflow here, not a native spreadsheet connector.

Shopify
Getsitecontrol uses Shopify cart and customer parameters in targeting, and widget buttons can add a product to the cart or apply a discount. The main GSC Email Marketing + Popups app also connects store events to email workflows. The separate GSC Popup, Email Pop Up app carries the Built for Shopify badge and supports Shopify Flow; neither earns points for Getsitecontrol. Wisepops has a native Shopify app and markets onsite product recommendations. Its experiment documentation includes Shopify revenue metrics. Installation and recommendations do not by themselves establish every cart action, coupon operation or customer-targeting control in the table.

Pricing
The subscription totals pay for different things: self-service widgets and separately billed email on one side, a managed campaign offer on the other. The starting prices alone do not measure the cost of equivalent work. Getsitecontrol Free includes 10,000 widget views per month. Pro costs $19 per month per site for 100,000 views; Pro Max costs $29 for unlimited views. Email credits are separate, so a popup-only bill and a popup-plus-email bill are different calculations. Wisepops advertises a managed offer from $599 a month. The final scope and fee need a proposal. That starting figure is not a confirmed price for each traffic, domain and email requirement in our scenario table.

The final score
Getsitecontrol suits teams that want to build their own forms, collect feedback and optionally send email in the same product. Wisepops is more relevant when campaign production and advanced experiments are part of the requirement. Its managed scope should be evaluated alongside the software controls, rather than treated as an expensive version of a basic popup subscription.

What matters most to you?
Let’s put your priorities first
First, check that each tool can do the task. An absent or unconfirmed required capability means a dash with an explanation instead of a scenario score, and no winner highlight. Only qualifying tools share the points; a sole qualifier earns the full weight of each criterion it meets. 70 points go to the criteria directly related to it, and 30 to everything else. For “Popups without email marketing”, all 100 points go to the included capabilities and relevant popup pricing scenarios; unwanted features and email sending have zero weight. Both tools earn points for confirmed capabilities; unconfirmed ones earn zero. The first row keeps the original overall score.

How the comparison works
These scores are relative to Getsitecontrol and Wisepops in this comparison. They cannot be carried over to comparisons with other products: each tool’s points depend on what the other participant offers.
Relative scores, not universal ratings
The same capability earns half the points when both tools have it, and all the points when only one does. Changing the opponent can therefore change a product’s score without changing the product itself. The review pages separately show absolute capability ratings without price.
One shared pool of 100 points
The 15 rounds cover 196 criteria. Each round has a set weight, divided equally among its criteria. These weights are our editorial choices.
How features earn points
If both products meet a criterion, they split its points equally. If only one does, it earns all of them. An unconfirmed capability earns zero. If neither qualifies, those points are not awarded, so the two totals can add up to less than 100.
How prices earn points
Ten scenarios carry 1 point each. We use the cheapest confirmed plan meeting each scenario’s traffic and feature requirements, billed monthly in USD. Equal prices split the point; a plan costing half as much earns twice the share. A free qualifying plan beats a paid one. If only one suitable plan and price are confirmed, it earns the full point.
Which plans count
Feature rounds cover capabilities across the products’ plans. The total does not describe a single subscription; the pricing scenarios identify the plan needed for each stated use case.
How your priorities change the score
A tool must first meet the task’s required capabilities. If a requirement is absent or unconfirmed, its scenario score is shown as a dash and it cannot be the winner; the status explains why. Only qualifying tools participate in point allocation and price comparisons. A sole qualifying tool earns the full weight of each criterion it meets; criteria it does not meet remain unearned. Standard priorities assign 70 points to their relevant criteria and 30 to the rest, preserving relative weights within each group. “Popups without email marketing” instead distributes all 100 points among its included criteria, preserving their relative weights and giving everything else zero. It includes lead capture, testing, reporting and external handoff. Its pricing criteria exclude email sending and feedback workloads. Included email features carry no penalty: only the required plan price counts. The evidence and scoring rules stay the same. The overall-feature row keeps the original weights.
