Klaviyo vs Wisepops.
Run it yourself or bring a team?
Klaviyo puts forms, profiles and email in one account. Wisepops combines an onsite platform with strategy and campaign production. We compare the software capabilities and explain where the service proposal changes the decision.
What do you need your website to do next?
Klaviyo and Wisepops can compete for the signup popup, but the purchase is different. Klaviyo supplies a messaging platform you operate; Wisepops sells an onsite programme with campaign work included.
They can also work together. Wisepops connects to Klaviyo, so replacing Klaviyo’s form does not mean moving the email list or rebuilding every flow. The added expense buys onsite capabilities and service, not another confirmed native email product.
This comparison follows the same fifteen rounds as the rest of the site. It scores confirmed capabilities; it does not assign points for the hours of strategy or campaign production in a Wisepops proposal. Workload-specific Wisepops prices remain unconfirmed.
How the comparison works
15 rounds compare both platforms against the same 194 capability criteria, with 100 points distributed across the sections. Each round explains the practical differences and adds to the running score. The table beneath each round shows how the points are awarded. The conclusions bring those results together for different uses of the platforms.
Formats & content
Klaviyo focuses its onsite editor on signup forms, including popup, flyout and embedded layouts. Mobile settings adapt the signup experience to smaller screens. Wisepops combines onsite campaigns with controls for message content and display. The table distinguishes the individual formats and content features available for a campaign.

Forms
Klaviyo covers consent, confirmation and profile-based signup workflows. Wisepops adds answer-dependent branching and NPS. The forms total is close because these are different advantages, not interchangeable versions of the same field. Klaviyo collects email, phone, text, radio, dropdown and checkbox answers across multiple steps. Consent and hidden properties attach to the profile. Phone-format checks, CAPTCHA and double opt-in help protect the list; mobile tap-to-text provides another SMS signup route. Wisepops includes email, phone, short and long text, radios, dropdowns, checkboxes and hidden fields. Branch blocks send different answers to different next steps. An email field can block previously collected addresses, and NPS collection is documented.

Gamification
Choose Klaviyo when a configurable wheel is enough and the signup should enter a flow directly. Wisepops has more game formats. Klaviyo’s documented probability controls and Wisepops’ variety earn different parts of this round. Klaviyo offers a spin-to-win block with two to six slices. Each slice has a probability, success step and coupon. The signup can sit before or alongside the spin. This establishes a configurable wheel, not a library of scratch cards, calendars or outcome quizzes. Wisepops documents wheels, scratch cards, pick-a-box games and seasonal calendars. These broaden the types of promotion beyond a single spin-to-win interaction. Format availability does not establish the same probability and losing-outcome controls for every game.

Targeting
Klaviyo’s explicit form priorities help coordinate campaigns around known profiles. Wisepops offers a varied trigger set, including hover and custom events. The score credits the documented shared criteria rather than counting every trigger as a separate point. Klaviyo combines URL, UTM, device and location rules with lists and customer segments. Delay, scroll, exit and click triggers control the opening moment. Frequency settings limit repeat appearances, and form priorities decide which queued campaign appears first. Wisepops exposes landing, delay, exit, scroll, click, hover and custom-event triggers. Audience controls include regions, traffic source, UTM values, visit history and language. Repeat rules can stop a campaign after signup, click, closure or a display count.

Experiments
Both support traffic allocation and automatic winners. Wisepops additionally documents a control group, useful for measuring the effect of showing the campaign at all. Do not infer that every legacy or quoted plan includes it. Klaviyo tests up to seven form variations, divides traffic evenly or by configured weights, and supports automatic winner selection. Results include revenue per variation. A test between form designs does not itself establish a no-form control group. Wisepops lets an experiment allocate traffic, select a success metric and automatically roll out a winning variant. A no-campaign control is documented for specified newer plans, and detailed results have plan restrictions. Confirm those controls in the service proposal.

Email & SMS
Klaviyo is the confirmed choice for email campaigns and automated follow-up in the same service. Wisepops can feed Klaviyo, but the combined setup is not a single-product email plan. A Klaviyo signup can enter a welcome flow from a list. Flows also respond to segments, events and dates, with delays and conditional paths for later messages. Broadcasts, segmentation, email and SMS belong to the same platform; profiles and sending allowances determine the bill. Wisepops’ confirmed email workflow sends captured contacts to an email platform. Its onsite feeds and web push are separate channels and do not establish native email broadcasts or welcome sequences.

Team & sites
Klaviyo’s roles and activity history provide more confirmed granularity in this comparison. Wisepops’ site-limited editors are useful for collaboration, but do not assume a particular approval process from the role name alone. Klaviyo provides predefined and custom roles, with separate responsibilities for content, analysis and account management. Owners and Admins can edit billing. An activity log records changes, and Portfolio groups accounts; that grouping is not a promise of one subscription for every website. Wisepops offers Admin access to websites, users and billing, and Editor access limited to selected sites. This distinguishes account administration from work on individual websites. The number of sites and the service responsibilities still belong in the proposal.

Developer
Klaviyo’s REST API can create, update and publish forms, with reporting endpoints for performance. Browser events connect forms to site code. Its MCP server exposes campaigns, flows, profiles and reporting with scope restrictions; flow webhooks send custom payloads to an endpoint. Wisepops’ API reads campaign identifiers, activation state and performance counts, and exports contacts. JavaScript callbacks connect popup events to site logic. Webhooks deliver email, phone and survey responses with retries.

Support
Klaviyo supplies product support while your team runs campaigns. Wisepops sells ongoing help doing the work. The support score measures the shared contact-channel criterion, not the value of a strategist or a campaign-production retainer. Klaviyo’s paid plans include email and live chat support, with availability depending on the plan and day. Free accounts receive email support for the first 60 days, then rely on self-service and AI-assisted help. Wisepops includes strategy and campaign production in its managed offering. Agree deliverables, turnaround and who handles urgent changes with that team. The service offer alone does not confirm a particular live-chat entitlement for the shared support criterion.

Editor & workflow
Klaviyo includes the form editor on Free. Draft, Live and Editing statuses separate work in progress from the form visitors see. Wisepops lets you prepare an experiment as a draft before publishing it. Draft preparation and activation are separate steps.

Data & reporting
Both have ways to measure more than a signup. Klaviyo connects form results to its messaging and scheduled reports; Wisepops adds experiment impact within its onsite programme. Use the same conversion definition when comparing reports. Klaviyo reports submissions and revenue following form interactions, including revenue by test variation. Submitters can be grouped into a segment and exported. Custom reports can run on weekly or monthly schedules, and reporting APIs support external analysis. Wisepops’ API returns campaign counts and exports contacts. Experiments support order rate and revenue per visitor, with plan-dependent detailed results. Onsite recommendations and campaign service work should be evaluated against agreed outcomes.

Integrations
This does not have to be a replacement decision. Wisepops can run the onsite capture while Klaviyo owns the profile and follow-up. That setup adds a second service bill and a data handoff to maintain. Klaviyo stores signups in its own profiles and sends its own email and SMS. Its marketplace connects stores, CRMs, review and loyalty systems, advertising tools and automation services. A flow can POST a webhook payload; that route is different from a dedicated form-submission webhook. Wisepops connects to Klaviyo and other email providers, including Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign and Brevo, as well as CRMs and SMS platforms. Analytics, Zapier and webhooks support additional routes. Google Sheets is a Zapier workflow here, not a native spreadsheet connector.

Shopify
Klaviyo’s confirmed Shopify coverage is more detailed for customer data, coupons and lifecycle flows. Wisepops’ recommendations are relevant to onsite merchandising; agree the required store operations in the service scope. Klaviyo connects Shopify customers, products, orders and events to profiles and flows. Forms can target cart conditions and customer segments, including tags and order history. Unique Shopify coupons support signup incentives and automatic application at checkout; product data also powers follow-up emails. Wisepops has a native Shopify app and markets onsite product recommendations. Its experiment documentation includes Shopify revenue metrics. Installation and recommendations do not by themselves establish every cart action, coupon operation or customer-targeting control in the table.

Pricing
Klaviyo has confirmed self-service prices for most scenarios. Wisepops’ scenario prices remain unconfirmed, so its pricing score should not be read as a measured cost difference. Budget the quoted service work separately from any email platform used alongside it. Klaviyo charges for active profiles and email volume rather than pageviews. Free covers 250 profiles and 500 monthly emails. The first paid email tier costs $20 for up to 500 profiles and 5,000 emails; removing form branding requires paid access. SMS has separate pricing. Wisepops advertises a managed offer from $599 a month. The final scope and fee need a proposal. That starting figure is not a confirmed price for each traffic, domain and email requirement in our scenario table.

What matters most to you?
Let’s put your priorities first
First, check that each tool can do the task. An absent or unconfirmed required capability means a dash with an explanation instead of a scenario score, and no winner highlight. Only qualifying tools share the points; a sole qualifier earns the full weight of each criterion it meets. 70 points go to the criteria directly related to it, and 30 to everything else. For “Popups without email marketing”, all 100 points go to the included capabilities and relevant popup pricing scenarios; unwanted features and email sending have zero weight. Both tools earn points for confirmed capabilities; unconfirmed ones earn zero. The first row keeps the original overall score.

How the comparison works
These scores are relative to Klaviyo and Wisepops in this comparison. They cannot be carried over to comparisons with other products: each tool’s points depend on what the other participant offers.
Relative scores, not universal ratings
The same capability earns half the points when both tools have it, and all the points when only one does. Changing the opponent can therefore change a product’s score without changing the product itself. The review pages separately show absolute capability ratings without price.
One shared pool of 100 points
The 15 rounds cover 194 criteria. Each round has a set weight, divided equally among its criteria. These weights are our editorial choices.
How features earn points
If both products meet a criterion, they split its points equally. If only one does, it earns all of them. An unconfirmed capability earns zero. If neither qualifies, those points are not awarded, so the two totals can add up to less than 100.
How prices earn points
Ten scenarios carry 1 point each. We use the cheapest confirmed plan meeting each scenario’s traffic and feature requirements, billed monthly in USD. Equal prices split the point; a plan costing half as much earns twice the share. A free qualifying plan beats a paid one. If only one suitable plan and price are confirmed, it earns the full point.
Which plans count
Feature rounds cover capabilities across the products’ plans. The total does not describe a single subscription; the pricing scenarios identify the plan needed for each stated use case.
How your priorities change the score
A tool must first meet the task’s required capabilities. If a requirement is absent or unconfirmed, its scenario score is shown as a dash and it cannot be the winner; the status explains why. Only qualifying tools participate in point allocation and price comparisons. A sole qualifying tool earns the full weight of each criterion it meets; criteria it does not meet remain unearned. Standard priorities assign 70 points to their relevant criteria and 30 to the rest, preserving relative weights within each group. “Popups without email marketing” instead distributes all 100 points among its included criteria, preserving their relative weights and giving everything else zero. It includes lead capture, testing, reporting and external handoff. Its pricing criteria exclude email sending and feedback workloads. Included email features carry no penalty: only the required plan price counts. The evidence and scoring rules stay the same. The overall-feature row keeps the original weights.
