Privy vs Sleeknote.
Store follow-up or a dedicated capture layer?

Compare Privy vs Sleeknote: popup forms, targeting, games, integrations, pricing and task-based ratings. See the differences that affect your campaign.

What do you need your website to do next?

Privy and Sleeknote both serve ecommerce signup campaigns, but their product boundaries differ. Privy combines onsite displays with an optional Email + SMS subscription. Sleeknote focuses on capture and engagement, handing subscriber details to an external sending platform.

For a store already committed to its email stack, Sleeknote’s quizzes, calendars and other games can extend the onsite experience. Privy is more directly integrated with its own store flows and Shopify operations. These are different routes from an offer to a later sale.

The commercial comparison depends on that division of work. Privy prices Displays and Email + SMS separately, while Sleeknote separates Core from Gamification and includes unlimited domains. The tables show features and workloads without treating those packages as interchangeable.

How the comparison works

15 rounds compare both platforms against the same 196 capability criteria, with 100 points distributed across the sections. Each round explains the practical differences and adds to the running score. The table beneath each round shows how the points are awarded. The conclusions bring those results together for different uses of the platforms.

Formats & content

Privy uses onsite displays to capture subscribers and present offers. The table separates individual display formats and content controls from the email workflows that follow a signup. Sleeknote separates desktop and mobile campaign designs and display settings. Teasers provide another entry point; on mobile, enabling a teaser replaces the usual opening triggers.

Forms

Privy collects email, phone, text, date, radio, dropdown and checkbox fields, with separate email and text opt-in fields. Hidden attributes record UTM values or custom data, and Mini Quiz steps store a preference answer on the contact. Double opt-in, one-signup-per-contact rules and invisible reCAPTCHA protect the list. Sleeknote has phone and SMS elements, short and long text fields, radios, dropdowns, answer buttons and consent checkboxes. Campaigns can span several steps. Its paid Quiz format maps combinations of answers to personalised outcomes and sends the answer values to an email platform or CSV. Phone fields support format checks and accepted-country restrictions.

Surveys

Privy’s mini-quiz templates collect preference answers into contact properties before signup. Those templates do not establish support for every rating format. Sleeknote’s quizzes map combinations of answers to personalised outcomes and can send those answers to an email platform or CSV. Gamification

Sleeknote’s paid package offers several distinct promotional formats, including calendars and Learn to Earn. Privy’s wheel is a more focused signup incentive. Privy’s Spin to Win sets a label, coupon, win ratio and result text for each slice, and slices can be winning or losing. The wheel can sit behind an email step, with desktop and mobile tabs to reopen it.

Sleeknote’s Gamification package includes wheels, scratch cards, seasonal calendars, quizzes and Learn to Earn. Wheel prizes have relative probabilities and configurable losing outcomes. Calendar doors have their own dates and content. Learn to Earn combines lessons, questions and staged rewards, with coupon lists for individual lessons.

Targeting

Privy opens displays on page load, after a delay, at a scroll depth or on exit intent. Audience rules combine current, initial and referring URLs, country, region or postal code, device, sessions and pageviews with AND/OR logic. Frequency settings, signup limits, schedules by date, weekday and time, and rules based on other displays keep campaigns apart. Sleeknote combines page and device filters with location, referral, UTM, cookies and new-visitor rules. Triggers include time, scroll, exit intent, click and SiteData. Per-campaign limits, a domain-level impression limit and Campaign order coordinate several campaigns.

Experiments

Privy runs display experiments with a set traffic allocation, stopped after a number of days or participants, and marks the variation with the highest conversion rate. Sleeknote includes popup split testing in Core. A test compares two campaigns with traffic allocation starting at 50/50. Saving a test and activating it are separate actions, so the setup can be reviewed before it starts.

Email & SMS

Privy can run the follow-up inside the same product. Sleeknote routes leads and answers to the email platform already handling those messages. Privy’s Email + SMS plan adds campaigns, segments and flows for welcome, cart, checkout, browse, purchase, winback and back-in-stock journeys, with Yes/No splits, delays and contact updates. Sends are unlimited; the price follows mailable contacts, with 250 SMS credits a month included. Sleeknote’s documented workflow sends captured leads and their answers to a connected email platform. That platform handles the welcome email, subsequent messages and its own sending bill. Native email sending is unconfirmed in this comparison.

Team & sites

Privy subaccounts share a parent billing arrangement. Sleeknote includes unlimited domains with site profiles, a different model for a multi-brand operation. Privy accounts have Owner and Member roles, and an event history records who did what. Subaccounts let one login manage several stores or brands under one bill, sharing the parent account’s traffic allowance. Sleeknote supports additional users and super users, with billing restricted to the main owner. Core includes unlimited domains and account settings provide site profiles. The subscription scales with traffic rather than adding a base fee for every domain.

Privy’s API manages contacts and ingests order and custom events, but has no display or campaign endpoints. Browser events identify shoppers and update carts. Webhooks deliver signup and order events, while MCP provides account and performance data. Data & reporting

Privy reports display views, signups, orders and revenue attributed to signups, and emails a summary each morning or each Monday. Contacts and a display’s signups export to CSV. Sleeknote reports views, leads and conversion rates with device, source and location breakdowns. Its Shopify connection adds purchase and revenue tracking. Shopify

Privy supplies specific cart actions, discount creation and store-triggered flows. Sleeknote’s subscriber delivery and store reporting are useful but do not imply every equivalent cart operation. Privy’s Shopify app syncs products, collections and customers in both directions, tagging new signups. Displays target cart value, products and order count, and store events start flows. Coupons are created as master or unique Shopify codes and can be applied to the cart after signup. Cross Sell displays add a product to the cart from a button. Sleeknote has a native Shopify app that sends subscribers to Shopify and supplies purchase and revenue tracking. Shopify also appears among its product-recommendation connections. Coupon lists distribute codes to visitors, including as game rewards.

Pricing

Compare the whole workflow: Privy Displays plus an external sender, Privy Email + SMS, or Sleeknote Core/Gamification plus the existing sender. Each pays for a different bundle. Privy Displays starts at $24 a month for 10,000 pageviews and reaches $168 for 100,000. Email + SMS starts at $30 for 1,500 mailable contacts with unlimited sends, popups included. There is no free plan.

Sleeknote’s current pricing page lists Core at €62 per month for up to 25,000 visitors, or €85 with Gamification. The 50,000-visitor bracket is €74 for Core. Annual billing has a lower monthly equivalent and requires an annual commitment. All these plans include unlimited domains.

What matters most to you?

Let’s put your priorities first

First, check that each tool can do the task. An absent or unconfirmed required capability means a dash with an explanation instead of a scenario score, and no winner highlight. Only qualifying tools share the points; a sole qualifier earns the full weight of each criterion it meets. 70 points go to the criteria directly related to it, and 30 to everything else. For “Popups without email marketing”, all 100 points go to the included capabilities and relevant popup pricing scenarios; unwanted features and email sending have zero weight. Both tools earn points for confirmed capabilities; unconfirmed ones earn zero. The first row keeps the original overall score.

How the comparison works

These scores are relative to Privy and Sleeknote in this comparison. They cannot be carried over to comparisons with other products: each tool’s points depend on what the other participant offers.

  1. Relative scores, not universal ratings

The same capability earns half the points when both tools have it, and all the points when only one does. Changing the opponent can therefore change a product’s score without changing the product itself. The review pages separately show absolute capability ratings without price.

  2. One shared pool of 100 points

The 15 rounds cover 196 criteria. Each round has a set weight, divided equally among its criteria. These weights are our editorial choices.

  3. How features earn points

If both products meet a criterion, they split its points equally. If only one does, it earns all of them. An unconfirmed capability earns zero. If neither qualifies, those points are not awarded, so the two totals can add up to less than 100.

  4. How prices earn points

Ten scenarios carry 1 point each. We use the cheapest confirmed plan meeting each scenario’s traffic and feature requirements, billed monthly in USD. Equal prices split the point; a plan costing half as much earns twice the share. A free qualifying plan beats a paid one. If only one suitable plan and price are confirmed, it earns the full point.

  5. Which plans count

Feature rounds cover capabilities across the products’ plans. The total does not describe a single subscription; the pricing scenarios identify the plan needed for each stated use case.

  6. How your priorities change the score

A tool must first meet the task’s required capabilities. If a requirement is absent or unconfirmed, its scenario score is shown as a dash and it cannot be the winner; the status explains why. Only qualifying tools participate in point allocation and price comparisons. A sole qualifying tool earns the full weight of each criterion it meets; criteria it does not meet remain unearned. Standard priorities assign 70 points to their relevant criteria and 30 to the rest, preserving relative weights within each group. “Popups without email marketing” instead distributes all 100 points among its included criteria, preserving their relative weights and giving everything else zero. It includes lead capture, testing, reporting and external handoff. Its pricing criteria exclude email sending and feedback workloads. Included email features carry no penalty: only the required plan price counts. The evidence and scoring rules stay the same. The overall-feature row keeps the original weights.
