Official website

Teams building signup forms, feedback campaigns, games and announcements in one editor. A built-in AI assistant helps edit drafts; A/B testing starts on Advanced.

Who is this app for?
Teams that want one editor for signup forms, feedback, prize games and announcements, with an AI assistant to speed up draft changes.
Main advantage
The editor combines varied form fields, rating inputs, extra steps and three games. Its built-in AI edited content and configured device, URL and delay settings in our draft test.
Main limitation
Pageviews count even without a popup display. A/B testing starts above Basic, so the lowest paid price is not the testing price.

Pricing and plans

Popupsmart combines pageview capacity, site limits and feature tiers. Advanced is the first tier with A/B testing. Pageviews and site limits affect capacity, while A/B testing changes feature access. Basic can suit one operator; Advanced is the starting point for experiments and two team members.

Monthly prices; larger traffic volumes need a quote. Email allowances and paid extensions can affect the total.

Features and plan access

The inspected editor includes contact fields, free text, single and multiple choice, consent and hidden inputs. Surveys can use ratings or numeric scales; games include Spin to Win, Lottery Ball and Surprise Box. Additional steps and a teaser let a campaign grow beyond a single screen.

The built-in AI changed copy, removed the form and submit button, and configured desktop targeting, an exact URL and a ten-second delay in our inactive draft. A/B testing starts on Advanced. One important distinction: the element called Opinion Scale / NPS offers 1–3, 1–5 and 1–10; we did not find a standard 0–10 NPS range.

Formats & content

Create a text-only announcement with a close icon and no form or call-to-action button. We built and saved this layout in the editor. Floating bars offer another notice format; forms and buttons are optional additions.

Opening animations can draw attention, while scheduling and frequency controls help manage recurring notices. URL, device and location rules narrow the audience. Billing still counts site pageviews when no announcement appears.

Surveys

Popupsmart’s feedback formats include numeric rating, star rating, and emoji rating. The Rating element offers star and emoji presentations, with required-answer and action settings. Use emoji icons in the Rating element to collect a quick reaction. Choose the response format around the question you want to answer. A recommendation score, a satisfaction rating and a quiz outcome serve different purposes; support for one does not imply the others or an automatic report.

Experiments

Popupsmart’s testing tools include A/B testing. A/B testing starts on Advanced, the plan selected here. Popup testing, email testing and automation experiments are separate capabilities. A useful comparison also considers traffic allocation, how a winner is selected and whether a no-popup control is available to measure the effect of showing a campaign at all.

Email & SMS

Popupsmart has no confirmed capabilities in this section in the current review. Capturing an address in a popup and sending a marketing campaign are separate jobs. Compare native sending channels, automation and their allowances independently from the popup subscription; an integration with a mailing platform does not include that platform’s sending service.

Team & sites

Advanced includes two members and five sites. This is a useful starting point for two people maintaining campaigns across several domains. The separately arranged Agency offer advertises client roles and permissions, which are not established for Advanced.

If client access must be restricted, compare the Agency arrangement instead of assuming that a second member provides role-based isolation. For a single operator, Basic may be enough when A/B testing is unnecessary. Seats, site limits and permission controls should be evaluated separately.

Developer

Popupsmart’s developer interfaces include HTTP API and webhooks. Retrieve campaign leads through the documented REST API. Send form submissions to a configured webhook endpoint. The scope of each interface matters more than the API label. Opening an existing popup, sending a submitted form to an endpoint and creating or publishing campaigns are different operations. Agent access depends on those operations and the permissions exposed.

Support

Popupsmart documents chat support. Response-time claims have not been independently tested, and this review does not establish round-the-clock hours or a contractual guarantee. For a team connecting CRM or analytics services, confirm whether support covers the required setup. The existence of a chat channel does not establish that someone will resolve a campaign issue immediately.

Editor & workflow

Popupsmart’s editing tools include AI popup assistant. The editor assistant rewrites text, changes the popup layout and sets device, page and delay rules. Editing, saving a draft and activating a campaign are separate stages of the workflow. Consider how changes are prepared and reviewed before visitors see them. An AI writing assistant also has a narrower role than an assistant that can change layout or targeting.

Data & reporting

Popupsmart has no confirmed capabilities in this section in the current review. Use the reporting workflow to connect captured responses with the decisions you need to make. Integrations

Email connectors sit alongside HubSpot and Salesforce, with Zapier, Make and webhooks covering other destinations. Salesforce can create Leads or Contacts using mapped form and system fields. Google Analytics 4 and Meta Pixel serve event tracking rather than contact storage, so choose a connection according to the data’s destination and purpose.

The Salesforce setup requires administrative permissions and package authorization. Exact Popupsmart tier requirements are not confirmed by these guides. Our integration guide explains the connection types and workflows.

Works with Shopify

Popupsmart’s Shopify coverage includes products and variants. Add a Shopify Product content element. Installation, customer data, discounts and cart actions are separate capabilities. A Shopify listing alone does not establish support for all of them, and features supplied by a separate app need to be considered with that app’s access and pricing.

Capability score

The capability score brings together the confirmed features in the sections above, excluding pricing. Each metric belongs to one section, and a feature’s score includes its subfeatures. The breakdown shows how much each area contributes and where points remain unearned. It measures feature coverage, rather than conversion performance or value for money.

AI agent readiness

Agent readiness looks at a complete working process: understanding a campaign, creating or changing it, operating it, reading results and controlling access. This assessment adds context to the Developer section without awarding extra points. In-editor AI assistance and an external agent’s ability to operate the account are considered separately.

Edits drafts with built-in AI

The built-in assistant changed copy, removed a form and edited audience rules in our draft test. External workflows can retrieve leads through the REST API or receive submissions by webhook; an interface for external agents to build and publish campaigns is not confirmed.

Agent taskWhat the agent can do
UnderstandPartialThe built-in assistant worked with the current draft’s elements. The documented external API reads leads; account-wide discovery and saved campaign configuration access are unconfirmed.
CreatePartialThe in-app assistant changed a headline and description, then removed the form and submit button while keeping the close icon. External-agent design editing and creation from scratch were not verified.
OperatePartialThe in-app assistant set desktop-only targeting, an exact page path and a 10-second delay. Those values appeared in the editor. External-agent control and live trigger behavior remain unverified.
MeasurePartialThe REST API provides dated lead records. A documented interface for campaign views, conversion rates and A/B results was not established.
Work safelyPartialDraft changes and a separate publishing step were visible. The assistant respected the test instruction not to publish; one removal action failed before the requested preview was achieved. Scoped agent permissions and rollback were not verified.

The editor tests used a Free account. API retrieval and webhook delivery were not executed; their scope comes from the published reference and connection settings.

What one display or signup could cost

At $69.00 per month, the selected plan allocates $0.069 per display and $3.45 per signup across 1,000 displays and 20 valid email signups. The table rounds to cents. The 2% signup rate is an assumption, not measured performance or a vendor charge per event.

The capacity check assumes one site and 2,000 pageviews and 500 email sends. Billing is based on site pageviews, which is distinct from the actual outcomes used here. For form-free announcements, compare displays rather than signups. Taxes, separately billed services and customer discounts are excluded.

OutcomeCalculationEstimated cost
One display$69.00 ÷ 1,000$0.07
1,000 displays$69.00 ÷ 1,000 × 1,000$69.00
One signup$69.00 ÷ 20$3.45

Popupsmart alternatives: which should you choose?

Teams that want one editor for signup forms, feedback, prize games and announcements, with an AI assistant to speed up draft changes. Pageviews count even without a popup display. A/B testing starts above Basic, so the lowest paid price is not the testing price.

Compare Poptin and Personizely against that requirement. The cards below explain where each is a better fit. Match the billing unit, required features and site or account limits before comparing headline prices; the cheapest subscription does not always cover the same work.

Popupsmart vs Poptin

Popupsmart Advanced costs $69/month for five sites, two members and A/B testing. Poptin Basic costs $25/month for one unbranded site and 10,000 visitors, with agency access on a higher tier.

Choose Poptin
For a single unbranded site that does not need the larger site bundle.
Choose Popupsmart
For a small team testing campaigns across several sites within the 100,000-pageview allowance.

Popupsmart vs Personizely

Popupsmart Advanced is a popup-focused $69/month offer. Personizely Premium starts at $59/month for 10,000 visitors and extends experiments into site content and personalization.

Choose Personizely
When testing page content or other site experiences matters alongside popups.
Choose Popupsmart
When the project is a straightforward popup rollout and the pageview-based site bundle fits.

About this review

We inspected Popupsmart’s Free account, editor, integration picker, targeting controls and billing screen on October 8, 2026. We tested AI edits and saved an inactive draft. Live display, integration delivery and authenticated API requests were not tested. Dates beside sources indicate when the corresponding evidence was checked; publication does not imply that every source was rechecked that day.

“Documented” means the provider describes the capability. A named plan is shown only where we recorded tier evidence. “Not confirmed” means the evidence is insufficient, not that the feature is absent. Paid add-ons and higher-tier restrictions are stated separately. Conflicting billing information prevents a unit-cost estimate.

Recommendations are editorial judgments about fit and cost. Sources are linked next to the claims they support, and every calculation uses the assumptions above.
