Wisepops vs Claspo.
What happens after a shopper closes the popup?

Compare Wisepops and Claspo for persistent onsite offers, competing popups, experiments, email delivery and managed campaign work.

What do you need your website to do next?

A shopper dismisses an early-access announcement on Monday and comes back on Friday looking for the code. Showing the same interrupting popup on both visits is one solution. Keeping the offer in an onsite feed, or giving its widget a small teaser that reopens it, creates different experiences.

Wisepops brings an onsite feed and a managed campaign offering. Claspo puts teasers, games and a display queue in the hands of the team operating the site. The choice depends partly on who will run next week’s campaign and partly on how a returning shopper is meant to find it.

How the comparison works

15 rounds compare both platforms against the same 196 capability criteria, with 100 points distributed across the sections. Each round explains the practical differences and adds to the running score. The table beneath each round shows how the points are awarded. The conclusions bring those results together for different uses of the platforms.

Round 019 points

Formats & content

A feed can hold several past messages. A teaser reopens a particular widget. Ask a returning shopper to find one specific offer after a second campaign has gone live. Wisepops combines onsite campaigns with controls for message content and display. The table distinguishes the individual formats and content features available for a campaign. Claspo offers bars, popups and teasers that can reopen a widget after dismissal.

Forms

Wisepops includes email, phone, short and long text, radios, dropdowns, checkboxes and hidden fields. Branch blocks send different answers to different next steps. An email field can block previously collected addresses, and NPS collection is documented. Claspo forms can span several screens, collect consent, accept choice and text answers, and carry hidden values.

Gamification

Wisepops documents wheels, scratch cards, pick-a-box games and seasonal calendars. These broaden the types of promotion beyond a single spin-to-win interaction. Format availability does not establish the same probability and losing-outcome controls for every game. Claspo’s games include seasonal reveals, slots and memory cards. In its slot template, prize probabilities and the signup step have separate controls.

Targeting

Wisepops exposes landing, delay, exit, scroll, click, hover and custom-event triggers. Audience controls include regions, traffic source, UTM values, visit history and language. Repeat rules can stop a campaign after signup, click, closure or a display count. Claspo can queue eligible widgets or suppress an invitation for the session when another campaign takes precedence.

Experiments

Wisepops lets an experiment allocate traffic, select a success metric and automatically roll out a winning variant. A no-campaign control is documented for specified newer plans, and detailed results have plan restrictions. Confirm those controls in the service proposal. Claspo includes widget A/B testing on its free Shopify tier. The traffic allowance and branding terms still apply to the live experiment.

Email & SMS

Claspo can send signup data to a connected email service, where the mailing team configures the welcome message.

Wisepops offers Admin access to websites, users and billing, and Editor access limited to selected sites. This distinguishes account administration from work on individual websites. The number of sites and the service responsibilities still belong in the proposal. Claspo documents Admin, Marketer, Analyst and Viewer roles for its web app. Shopify installations have separate access guidance.

Developer

Wisepops’ API reads campaign identifiers, activation state and performance counts, and exports contacts. JavaScript callbacks connect popup events to site logic. Webhooks deliver email, phone and survey responses with retries. Claspo’s browser API can open an existing widget from a page button. Data & reporting

A reopened offer can influence an order well after the first popup view. Agree on the attribution window before comparing Wisepops order metrics with widget conversions and store redemptions. Wisepops’ API returns campaign counts and exports contacts. Experiments support order rate and revenue per visitor, with plan-dependent detailed results. Onsite recommendations and campaign service work should be evaluated against agreed outcomes. Claspo reports widget test performance. For a promotion, match that result to the store’s redemption records to see how many collected offers buyers used.

Integrations

Wisepops’ Iterable setup distinguishes US and EU endpoints and selects a list. Claspo maps submitted values and fixed context. Give the email team an example subscriber record and confirm that its journey reads the same fields. Wisepops connects to Klaviyo and other email providers, including Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign and Brevo, as well as CRMs and SMS platforms. Analytics, Zapier and webhooks support additional routes. Google Sheets is a Zapier workflow here, not a native spreadsheet connector. Claspo can combine a visitor’s answers with static campaign values on connectors that expose both kinds of field. Webhooks provide a configurable delivery route.

IntegrationsWisepopsClaspo
Email+0.13

Brevo: Connect with an API key and choose the receiving list. Optional double opt-in uses a Brevo email-template ID and confirmation redirect URL; category fields require their option IDs. ActiveCampaign: Connect with the API URL and key, select a list and map additional fields. Email, phone and names map automatically; entered tag names are reused or created in ActiveCampaign. Drip: Authorize the Drip account from the popup’s email-form settings, then select the receiving destination. The setup guide documents signup delivery, without detailing custom-event or tag controls. Omnisend, Braze, Emarsys, Ometria, Splio, Actito, Acoustic, Marigold Engage, Kit, Voyado: Connect signup forms to an external email platform and send new leads there for follow-up. The chosen provider determines the available destination settings and supported contact fields. Iterable: Create an Iterable key and choose the US or EU endpoint for the connected project in Wisepops. Select the destination list on the popup’s signup form. Use a contact from that project to verify membership; a list of the same name in another project is a different destination. Dotdigital: Authorize the form sync with Dotdigital and select the receiving list. Email, phone and names have default mappings; additional answers use the form’s field mapping. Wisepops says an email signup can resubscribe a past unsubscriber and offers an email double opt-in setting. Customer.io: Provide the workspace’s tracking credentials and App API key in the form’s Sync tab. Wisepops exposes an email identifier option for compatible workspaces and documents IP allowlisting for restricted keys. Check the resulting person and attributes in the intended workspace. Mailjet: Mailjet documents a direct Wisepops connection as well as a Zapier option. For the direct route, enter Mailjet credentials in the form sync, select the list and map any extra fields. Use the bridge only when its extra routing serves a specific purpose. SmartrMail: Start in SmartrMail on the subscriber list that should receive signups. Choose the Wisepops integration and enter the Wisepops API key and popup ID. A cloned popup has its own ID; check that the intended form is linked to the list. Sendlane: Connect Sendlane from the email form’s Sync tab and choose the list. Wisepops describes confirmation for contacts sent to Sendlane. Check the contact after clicking the confirmation link when reconciling popup conversions with active subscribers. GetResponse: Paste the GetResponse API key into the signup form’s sync settings and pick a list. Wisepops documents mapping a hidden form field to Day of Cycle. Populate it deliberately when the first lesson or welcome offer must arrive on a particular day. Constant Contact: Connect Constant Contact in the popup’s email form and choose the subscriber list in the sync settings. This sends new signups to that list. Wisepops explicitly excludes Constant Contact PRO accounts running on Retention Science. SendGrid: Paste a SendGrid key into the signup form’s sync settings, then choose the receiving list. Wisepops’ instructions request a full-access key. Check whether that permission fits your account policy before choosing this route for a straightforward email list. Klaviyo: Select a list and map standard or custom profile properties. List settings control double opt-in; leads carry WisePops as their source. Notification signup uses a separate API-key setup. Mailchimp: Authorize Mailchimp in Sync and select an audience. Map required fields and groups, and enter tag names exactly. Delivery runs from the live website, not the editor preview.

+0.13

Kit: Use Claspo’s webhook integration to send submissions to a Kit form or sequence. The destination ID and request body specify where the subscriber goes and which fields are included. ActiveCampaign, MailBluster, MailerLite, MailWizz, Mautic, Newsletter2Go, Omnisend, Brevo, Zoho Campaigns, Acumbamail, VBOUT, Act-On, Userlist: Send widget submissions to an email platform through its documented integration route. Field mapping can include form answers and submission context where the receiving connector supports those values. beehiiv: Connect a beehiiv API key in the widget integration and select the publication. Map the required subscriber data and use static fields for information shared by everyone submitting that widget. Create the receiving fields in the correct publication first. CleverReach: Connect CleverReach at the widget’s integration step and choose the receiving group. Map the required email field and any additional supported inputs; fixed values can identify the particular signup offer. Inspect both recipient activation and field values in CleverReach. Dotdigital: Connect the widget to Dotdigital, choose the address book and map the contact inputs. System values such as site language and fixed campaign labels can go into separate Dotdigital fields. An address book membership alone does not preserve a visitor’s answer. Iterable: Connect the widget to Iterable, choose the subscriber list and map email plus any supported contact fields. Fixed field values can identify the campaign or language. Check the type of each receiving field when extending an existing Iterable profile. SendPulse: Choose SendPulse in the widget’s integrations, authorize with the account credentials and select the mailing list. Map each input to a SendPulse field and add static values if needed. A fixed language value is useful for a form published on only one language version of a site. SendFox: Claspo documents a webhook setup for SendFox. Configure the contacts endpoint and authorize the request with the SendFox token; map the required email and supported optional parameters in the request. If the signup belongs to one list, verify that membership after submitting. Constant Contact: Authorize Constant Contact on the widget’s Integrations step and select a list. Email is required. Map contact inputs such as name or phone, optionally add browser or language data, and use a static value when every signup should carry the same offer name. GetResponse: Connect the API key, choose the mailing list and map the required email address. Claspo can also transfer widget answers, system fields and fixed values. Its guide points to the list’s API subscription settings for signups that require a confirmation message. SendGrid: Create a restricted SendGrid key with Marketing access as specified in Claspo’s guide, then choose the list in the widget. Map email and any other supported form fields; static values can label the source. This lets a team identify the popup offer on the marketing contact. Klaviyo: Select a list and map each widget’s fields, including custom properties. Email and SMS subscription requests run separately and follow the list’s opt-in settings. Mailchimp: Authorize Mailchimp, choose an audience and map fields; email is required. Select existing groups, add fixed values and enable opt-in confirmation as needed. A Test button checks the setup.

Keap: In the signup form’s Sync tab, choose Keap, sign in and grant access. Back in Wisepops, select the tags to apply to synced contacts. If adding a tag starts a sequence, test both first-time and existing contacts that already carry it. Pipedrive: Open the signup form’s Sync settings, choose Pipedrive and approve installation in the CRM account. The published instructions establish account authorization for signup delivery. They do not specify a deal stage or a mapping for custom qualification fields. Salesforce: Connect an API-enabled Salesforce CRM account, then configure the sync on the form. Email, phone and names have default mappings, and you can map custom fields. If a visitor omits their last name, Wisepops documents sending a hyphen; its CSV export includes the Salesforce response for troubleshooting. HubSpot: Authorize HubSpot in Sync and choose a static list. Leads arrive as contacts without a lifecycle stage; set one through a hidden field mapped to Lifecycle Stage.

SalesDrive, FluentCRM: Route form submissions into your CRM. Pipedrive: Connect the Pipedrive API token, include Name in the widget and map the supported inputs. You can also create a deal linked to the contact and use a selected component as the deal title. Claspo’s guide excludes transfer to custom Pipedrive fields. Zoho CRM: Authorize Claspo, choose the Zoho CRM module in the widget integration and map the inputs. The guide names Leads and Contacts and requires last_name. It also supports mapping system values and supplying a fixed field such as the enquiry source. Salesforce: Authorize Salesforce from the widget’s integrations and configure the destination and mapped fields. Claspo requires last name in its setup. Map a real surname field for a sales enquiry, then check that the remaining contact and campaign values reach the expected CRM fields. HubSpot: Select a static list and map widget, system or fixed values to contact fields. Email is required; contacts use single opt-in. Active lists are not supported.

What matters most to you?

Let’s put your priorities first

First, check that each tool can do the task. An absent or unconfirmed required capability means a dash with an explanation instead of a scenario score, and no winner highlight. Only qualifying tools share the points; a sole qualifier earns the full weight of each criterion it meets. 70 points go to the criteria directly related to it, and 30 to everything else. For “Popups without email marketing”, all 100 points go to the included capabilities and relevant popup pricing scenarios; unwanted features and email sending have zero weight. Both tools earn points for confirmed capabilities; unconfirmed ones earn zero. The first row keeps the original overall score.

How the comparison works

These scores are relative to Wisepops and Claspo in this comparison. They cannot be carried over to comparisons with other products: each tool’s points depend on what the other participant offers.

  1. Relative scores, not universal ratings

The same capability earns half the points when both tools have it, and all the points when only one does. Changing the opponent can therefore change a product’s score without changing the product itself. The review pages separately show absolute capability ratings without price.

  2. One shared pool of 100 points

The 15 rounds cover 196 criteria. Each round has a set weight, divided equally among its criteria. These weights are our editorial choices.

  3. How features earn points

If both products meet a criterion, they split its points equally. If only one does, it earns all of them. An unconfirmed capability earns zero. If neither qualifies, those points are not awarded, so the two totals can add up to less than 100.

  4. How prices earn points

Ten scenarios carry 1 point each. We use the cheapest confirmed plan meeting each scenario’s traffic and feature requirements, billed monthly in USD. Equal prices split the point; a plan costing half as much earns twice the share. A free qualifying plan beats a paid one. If only one suitable plan and price are confirmed, it earns the full point.

  5. Which plans count

Feature rounds cover capabilities across the products’ plans. The total does not describe a single subscription; the pricing scenarios identify the plan needed for each stated use case.

  6. How your priorities change the score

A tool must first meet the task’s required capabilities. If a requirement is absent or unconfirmed, its scenario score is shown as a dash and it cannot be the winner; the status explains why. Only qualifying tools participate in point allocation and price comparisons. A sole qualifying tool earns the full weight of each criterion it meets; criteria it does not meet remain unearned. Standard priorities assign 70 points to their relevant criteria and 30 to the rest, preserving relative weights within each group. “Popups without email marketing” instead distributes all 100 points among its included criteria, preserving their relative weights and giving everything else zero. It includes lead capture, testing, reporting and external handoff. Its pricing criteria exclude email sending and feedback workloads. Included email features carry no penalty: only the required plan price counts. The evidence and scoring rules stay the same. The overall-feature row keeps the original weights.
