Adoric vs POWR.
Choosing the right Shopify popup edition

Compare Adoric Classic, its separate Shopify Popups edition and POWR Popup. See how targeting, customer sync and three billing units affect the decision.

What do you need your website to do next?

“Works with Shopify” leaves an important question open: which subscription is the merchant comparing? Adoric Classic prices site pageviews. Adoric’s Shopify Popups edition prices monthly orders. POWR’s reviewed Shopify listing prices form submissions. A busy catalogue, a high-converting checkout and a successful email form can push three different plans over their limits.

The score table compares the canonical Adoric Classic and POWR dossiers. For a Shopify-only launch, the store-specific evidence below separates the actual app features from the Classic plan used in the general comparison.

How the comparison works

15 rounds compare both platforms against the same 196 capability criteria, with 100 points distributed across the sections. Each round explains the practical differences and adds to the running score. The table beneath each round shows how the points are awarded. The conclusions bring those results together for different uses of the platforms.

Formats & content

Adoric Classic supports promotional popups, notification bars, teasers and carousels. Dynamic text can insert a visitor’s name or city into an offer. POWR Popup focuses on signup and discount campaigns, with a floating tab or button to reopen the widget. Its standalone editor and Shopify offer have different packaging, so match a display control to the subscription you will use.

Forms

Classic supports multi-step campaigns and form handoff to connected providers. In the separate Shopify editor the field picker includes phone, email, hidden values and choice fields. The Shopify editor can require marketing consent. Starter adds checks for disposable addresses and domains that cannot receive mail. The standalone form also offers a terms checkbox.

Surveys

A campaign can collect preferences during signup. The Shopify editor offers radio buttons, checkboxes and dropdowns. A choice between product interests alone does not produce a satisfaction score. POWR’s confirmed Popup workflow centres on contact capture and consent. A wider catalogue of form apps should not be read as a promise that every survey operation is included in the Popup product or its selected plan.

Gamification

The Shopify Popups edition documents spin-to-win offers. Classic uses a different subscription and feature record, so a merchant buying the wheel should compare the Shopify offer directly. If the brief needs chance-based interaction, compare a tool with the relevant game controls rather than purchasing a broad widget bundle on the assumption that its Popup app includes them.

Targeting

Classic supports browser and traffic conditions across ordinary sites. In the current POWR Shopify editor, URL and new-versus-returning rules require Pro. A store launching only on selected product pages needs that entitlement. Classic combines URLs and queries with country, device, visit history and cookies. Delay, exit, scroll and element clicks can trigger the popup. Frequency rules control when the same person becomes eligible again. In the Shopify editor, device rules, delay and scroll are marked Starter. Pro adds selected URLs, new or returning visitors, exit intent, manual triggers and frequency limits. Standalone plans label some controls differently.

Experiments

Classic lists A/B testing, but its Basic feature matrix and Essentials summary disagree about the minimum plan. The separate Shopify product describes an even split with a manually chosen winner. The Popup editor can save distinct designs. A native traffic split between those designs remains unconfirmed for the Popup product.

Email & SMS

Classic hands collected contacts to an email provider. Selecting the destination list and fields determines what the provider can use in a welcome campaign. An autoresponder serves a different job from a newsletter platform with broadcasts and multi-step journeys. Choose the response you need, then budget the sending system that actually performs it.

Team & sites

Classic Basic includes three domains and Essentials includes four. A domain allowance helps plan traffic across properties but does not specify which colleagues can publish to a client site. The POWR dashboard lets an owner share one app with a collaborator using an individual login. That access applies to the selected app.

Developer

A named JavaScript event can trigger an existing campaign. Classic forms also support outbound requests to a configured endpoint with field mapping and an optional authorization header. POWR uses documented response integrations and Zapier to connect campaigns to other services. A response trigger can start an external workflow without establishing an API for changing the popup itself.

Support

Classic lists email support on Basic and Essentials. Its Klaviyo setup guide directs customers to the support team for help connecting that provider. Shopify Starter lists live chat and Free lists email support. Starter retains the entry submission allowance, so a support upgrade alone may leave a busy campaign short of capacity.

Editor & workflow

Classic provides a campaign editor with separate mobile and tablet variations. Adoric’s published prompt-based builder guide is for Bundles, a separate product from the popup editor. POWR’s standalone Free editor saves changes automatically while keeping Publish as a separate action. Advanced display controls and welcome email are upgrade features in that offer; editor access does not include every visible control.

Data & reporting

Classic can track purchases following popup exposure as conversion goals. A merchant can compare the visitors who claimed an offer with the visitors who eventually bought. POWR’s submission allowance counts a different event again. Keep traffic, displayed messages and completed forms separate when assessing campaign performance and the next required upgrade.

Integrations

Classic documents direct email and CRM connections, including list and field selection. A custom webhook can route a submission to a service outside the named catalogue. Shopify Customers sync is enabled by default in the current Shopify editor. Klaviyo, Mailchimp and Google Sheets are marked Pro. Standalone and usage-based subscriptions have their own entitlements.

Shopify

Adoric’s Shopify offer includes store-oriented wheel and coupon templates. In POWR’s Shopify editor, the signup already feeds Shopify Customers by default. One is a reason to choose the offer visitors see, the other a reason to choose where their data goes.

Adoric Popup & Email Popups is a separate Shopify edition with order-based billing. Its store templates include coupon, exit and spin-to-win campaigns. Classic bills by site pageviews. Installation is only the start: customer sync is different from reading cart contents, generating discounts or adding products. Choose POWR for the documented contact route, without treating that route as a complete ecommerce toolkit.

Pricing

A small shop can fall within Adoric Shopify’s 20-order free allowance while still exceeding POWR’s 25-submission entry allowance. Those figures cannot be applied to Adoric Classic or to POWR standalone. Classic Basic lists $100 per month for 300,000 pageviews across three domains. Essentials lists $250 for one million pageviews across four. The Shopify edition has a separate free allowance of up to 20 orders per month. The reviewed Shopify Pro plan costs $15.29 monthly for 1,000 submissions. Standalone Pro lists $15.84 monthly and uses a separate offer.

What matters most to you?

Let’s put your priorities first

First, check that each tool can do the task. An absent or unconfirmed required capability means a dash with an explanation instead of a scenario score, and no winner highlight. Only qualifying tools share the points; a sole qualifier earns the full weight of each criterion it meets. 70 points go to the criteria directly related to it, and 30 to everything else. For “Popups without email marketing”, all 100 points go to the included capabilities and relevant popup pricing scenarios; unwanted features and email sending have zero weight. Both tools earn points for confirmed capabilities; unconfirmed ones earn zero. The first row keeps the original overall score.

How the comparison works

These scores are relative to Adoric and POWR in this comparison. They cannot be carried over to comparisons with other products: each tool’s points depend on what the other participant offers.

  1. Relative scores, not universal ratings

The same capability earns half the points when both tools have it, and all the points when only one does. Changing the opponent can therefore change a product’s score without changing the product itself. The review pages separately show absolute capability ratings without price.

  2. One shared pool of 100 points

The 15 rounds cover 196 criteria. Each round has a set weight, divided equally among its criteria. These weights are our editorial choices.

  3. How features earn points

If both products meet a criterion, they split its points equally. If only one does, it earns all of them. An unconfirmed capability earns zero. If neither qualifies, those points are not awarded, so the two totals can add up to less than 100.

  4. How prices earn points

Ten scenarios carry 1 point each. We use the cheapest confirmed plan meeting each scenario’s traffic and feature requirements, billed monthly in USD. Equal prices split the point; a plan costing half as much earns twice the share. A free qualifying plan beats a paid one. If only one suitable plan and price are confirmed, it earns the full point.

  5. Which plans count

Feature rounds cover capabilities across the products’ plans. The total does not describe a single subscription; the pricing scenarios identify the plan needed for each stated use case.

  6. How your priorities change the score

A tool must first meet the task’s required capabilities. If a requirement is absent or unconfirmed, its scenario score is shown as a dash and it cannot be the winner; the status explains why. Only qualifying tools participate in point allocation and price comparisons. A sole qualifying tool earns the full weight of each criterion it meets; criteria it does not meet remain unearned. Standard priorities assign 70 points to their relevant criteria and 30 to the rest, preserving relative weights within each group. “Popups without email marketing” instead distributes all 100 points among its included criteria, preserving their relative weights and giving everything else zero. It includes lead capture, testing, reporting and external handoff. Its pricing criteria exclude email sending and feedback workloads. Included email features carry no penalty: only the required plan price counts. The evidence and scoring rules stay the same. The overall-feature row keeps the original weights.
