Personizely vs Elfsight.
Survey answers or service enquiries?

Compare Personizely and Elfsight Popup for survey profiles, conditional enquiries, exports, collaboration and email delivery.

What do you need your website to do next?

A service business can use the same website to ask two very different questions. “How was your visit?” can be answered anonymously. “Would you like a quote?” needs contact details and a route to someone who can reply. Which question matters more changes the value of these two products.

Personizely can attach survey answers to a visitor profile and invite an identified customer back into a later campaign. Elfsight Popup can reveal different fields within an enquiry and send the submission directly to Google Sheets. These differences continue after someone presses Submit.

How the comparison works

15 rounds compare both platforms against the same 196 capability criteria, with 100 points distributed across the sections. Each round explains the practical differences and adds to the running score. The table beneath each round shows how the points are awarded. The conclusions bring those results together for different uses of the platforms.

Round 019 points

Formats & content

Personizely offers popups, compact callouts, bars and embedded widgets. A coupon can be copied with a click, and text can use a visitor property with a fallback for anonymous traffic. Elfsight can show information with text, an image and a close control, without a form or action button. It also includes a timer and element-level device visibility. Announcement Bar is a separate Elfsight app.

Forms

A widget can collect a phone number, free text, single or multiple selections and separate consent choices. Responses are stored on visitor profiles, where a later submission may update a previous answer. Elfsight supports phone, text, hidden, choice and dropdown fields, multiple selections, consent and required inputs. Conditional visibility can show a field based on another answer.

Surveys

Personizely supports NPS survey popups and preference questions. The widget contact export includes respondents who supplied an email or phone. It can therefore contain fewer rows than an anonymous survey received. Elfsight forms offer text, choice and dropdown fields, multiple selection and conditional field visibility. This supports questions that depend on earlier answers, while result scoring and product recommendations are separate requirements.

Targeting

Rules cover URLs, subdomains, time windows and repeat exposure. A widget can open after inactivity or a hover, and stop appearing after a conversion. Elfsight combines page and device rules with scheduling, frequency, page-load, delay, scroll, exit and element-click triggers. Elements can have separate desktop and mobile visibility.

Experiments

Personizely Premium supports A/B testing a widget. Buying more Elfsight widget slots lets a team maintain more forms, but does not establish a traffic split for measuring which invitation works better. Premium includes A/B testing of widgets. Essential includes other kinds of website tests, so access to a theme or URL test alone does not establish that a popup can be split-tested on that tier. If the job is maintaining a few factual notices, the lack of a confirmed experiment workflow may be less important than the widget count and required display controls.

Email & SMS

A form can write contact and consent fields to a visitor profile and send the contact to a connected email platform. The welcome sequence depends on how that destination uses the fields. A Popup form can send an autoresponder email and forward the signup to Mailchimp. A newsletter series runs in the connected mailing service.

Team & sites

The reviewed Premium offer includes ten websites. Each site has its own widgets, goals and campaigns, an important boundary when a team manages several storefronts. Elfsight Pro includes one collaborator and three projects; Premium includes three collaborators and nine projects with project-only sharing. Project members cannot create or delete widgets or manage billing, and custom project roles are not supported.

Developer

REST and MCP can read experiment results and start or stop an existing widget. OAuth permits read-only access. An account API key also permits start and stop across websites, so the credential type matters for a reporting integration. Elfsight forwards form responses to a supplied endpoint and supports automation connections. These submission routes move visitor data; they do not establish external control over widget configuration or publication.

Editor & workflow

Elfsight’s generator can draft the form. In our test it wrote “Required” in the consent label but left the setting off. For a quote request, check the actual switch before treating a generated form as ready. The editor lets a team compose a widget from steps and elements, then attach conditional actions to visitor interactions. Existing widgets can be operated externally, while their design is edited in the dashboard. The AI assistant generates editable text and form blocks. In our draft it labelled consent as required while leaving the actual required-field control off. Layout and style have separate editor settings.

Data & reporting

Personizely’s widget contact CSV includes people who supplied an email or phone. Anonymous survey participants can therefore be missing from that file. Elfsight offers a Popup submission export, a closer fit for a team handling each enquiry as a separate item.

A widget report can distinguish views, submissions, contacts and revenue. A returning contact who submits an updated answer is a submission but does not become a new contact a second time. For a notice with no action button, use delivery and audience context rather than treating a missing click as failure. For a signup, keep submissions and downstream contact delivery distinct from the load count.

Integrations

Form and survey answers can update profile fields. Widget automations can send a webhook or act on a connected marketing list when a particular visitor interaction occurs. Elfsight Popup can send form entries directly to Mailchimp or post them to a webhook. A site using another mailing platform can route the submission through an automation service.

Pricing

Premium costs $59 per month at the reviewed 10,000-visitor allowance and includes ten sites. Essential is $39 at that traffic level. Widget experiments are one reason to budget for Premium. Elfsight Basic costs $6 monthly for three widgets, 5,000 monthly loads and branding removal. Free includes one widget and 200 monthly loads. A load can be billed even when the visitor never sees the popup.

What matters most to you?

Let’s put your priorities first

First, check that each tool can do the task. An absent or unconfirmed required capability means a dash with an explanation instead of a scenario score, and no winner highlight. Only qualifying tools share the points; a sole qualifier earns the full weight of each criterion it meets. 70 points go to the criteria directly related to it, and 30 to everything else. For “Popups without email marketing”, all 100 points go to the included capabilities and relevant popup pricing scenarios; unwanted features and email sending have zero weight. Both tools earn points for confirmed capabilities; unconfirmed ones earn zero. The first row keeps the original overall score.

How the comparison works

These scores are relative to Personizely and Elfsight in this comparison. They cannot be carried over to comparisons with other products: each tool’s points depend on what the other participant offers.

  1. Relative scores, not universal ratings

The same capability earns half the points when both tools have it, and all the points when only one does. Changing the opponent can therefore change a product’s score without changing the product itself. The review pages separately show absolute capability ratings without price.

  2. One shared pool of 100 points

The 15 rounds cover 196 criteria. Each round has a set weight, divided equally among its criteria. These weights are our editorial choices.

  3. How features earn points

If both products meet a criterion, they split its points equally. If only one does, it earns all of them. An unconfirmed capability earns zero. If neither qualifies, those points are not awarded, so the two totals can add up to less than 100.

  4. How prices earn points

Ten scenarios carry 1 point each. We use the cheapest confirmed plan meeting each scenario’s traffic and feature requirements, billed monthly in USD. Equal prices split the point; a plan costing half as much earns twice the share. A free qualifying plan beats a paid one. If only one suitable plan and price are confirmed, it earns the full point.

  5. Which plans count

Feature rounds cover capabilities across the products’ plans. The total does not describe a single subscription; the pricing scenarios identify the plan needed for each stated use case.

  6. How your priorities change the score

A tool must first meet the task’s required capabilities. If a requirement is absent or unconfirmed, its scenario score is shown as a dash and it cannot be the winner; the status explains why. Only qualifying tools participate in point allocation and price comparisons. A sole qualifying tool earns the full weight of each criterion it meets; criteria it does not meet remain unearned. Standard priorities assign 70 points to their relevant criteria and 30 to the rest, preserving relative weights within each group. “Popups without email marketing” instead distributes all 100 points among its included criteria, preserving their relative weights and giving everything else zero. It includes lead capture, testing, reporting and external handoff. Its pricing criteria exclude email sending and feedback workloads. Included email features carry no penalty: only the required plan price counts. The evidence and scoring rules stay the same. The overall-feature row keeps the original weights.
