Poptin vs Sleeknote.
Contact workflows or deeper game campaigns?

Compare Poptin and Sleeknote for lead capture, input checks, games, A/B tests, native email, multi-site work and visitor-based pricing.

What do you need your website to do next?

Poptin and Sleeknote overlap on targeted forms, multi-step campaigns and reward games. The distinction becomes clearer when the campaign needs either a richer contact workflow or a longer interactive experience.

Poptin offers detailed contact properties and email rules, with a separate Growth product for native email automation. Sleeknote’s Gamification package adds outcomes, calendars and learning journeys to its onsite builder, while connected email platforms handle the follow-up.

Both are also relevant to multi-site teams, but their commercial arrangements differ. Poptin has plan-specific domain allowances and agency subaccounts. Sleeknote includes unlimited domains in Core and sells games separately. The comparison follows those differences through the campaign and into the bill.

How the comparison works

15 rounds compare both platforms against the same 196 capability criteria, with 100 points distributed across the sections. Each round explains the practical differences and adds to the running score. The table beneath each round shows how the points are awarded. The conclusions bring those results together for different uses of the platforms.

Formats & content

Poptin provides popups and embedded forms, with desktop and mobile layouts. Campaign elements can be arranged directly in the visual editor. Sleeknote separates desktop and mobile campaign designs and display settings. Teasers provide another entry point; on mobile, enabling a teaser replaces the usual opening triggers.

Forms

Poptin emphasises email quality and contact-property types. Sleeknote’s quiz outcomes and answer mapping are useful when capture is part of guided discovery. Poptin offers name, email, phone, message, location, birthday and email-consent fields. Properties can use radio buttons, single-select controls and hidden values, with custom text, number, date, boolean and multiple-value properties. Email checks include format, typos and business-address rules. Double opt-in can inherit the account setting or be configured for the form.

Sleeknote has phone and SMS elements, short and long text fields, radios, dropdowns, answer buttons and consent checkboxes. Campaigns can span several steps. Its paid Quiz format maps combinations of answers to personalised outcomes and sends the answer values to an email platform or CSV. Phone fields support format checks and accepted-country restrictions.

Surveys

Poptin can collect customer answers through form fields. Dedicated feedback ratings and quiz formats are evaluated separately from ordinary signup questions. Sleeknote’s quizzes map combinations of answers to personalised outcomes and can send those answers to an email platform or CSV. Quizzes belong to the Gamification package; individual rating formats are checked separately.

Gamification

Sleeknote has the broader extended-campaign library, including calendars and learning journeys. Poptin’s three reward formats suit shorter capture interactions with configurable result screens. Poptin provides wheel, gift and scratch formats. Wheel and gift settings include prize labels, coupon codes, relative weights, losing outcomes and redirects. Weights of 2:1:1 displayed as 50%, 25% and 25%. Separate teaser, play, post-play, winning and losing screens give you control over the journey. The scratch setup we used revealed a fixed offer.

Sleeknote’s Gamification package includes wheels, scratch cards, seasonal calendars, quizzes and Learn to Earn. Wheel prizes have relative probabilities and configurable losing outcomes. Calendar doors have their own dates and content. Learn to Earn combines lessons, questions and staged rewards, with coupon lists for individual lessons.

Targeting

Both cover common visitor and timing rules. Sleeknote adds campaign order and domain-level impression coordination; Poptin gates some advanced conditions by plan. Poptin includes delay, exit intent, scroll, page count, click count and inactivity triggers. Manual triggers fire when the first selected condition is met. Device, URL, country, frequency and schedules provide the basic audience controls. JavaScript, Autopilot, previous-page, cookie and other advanced conditions can require a paid plan. Sleeknote combines page and device filters with location, referral, UTM, cookies and new-visitor rules. Triggers include time, scroll, exit intent, click and SiteData. Per-campaign limits, a domain-level impression limit and Campaign order coordinate several campaigns.

Experiments

Both compare popup variants. Sleeknote exposes traffic allocation between two campaigns; Poptin groups designs from a completed campaign in its dashboard. Poptin creates an A/B variant from a completed campaign and groups the designs in one dashboard test. This is useful for comparing a headline, incentive or layout without managing two unrelated campaigns. The A/B command becomes available after the initial campaign setup. Sleeknote includes popup split testing in Core. A test compares two campaigns with traffic allocation starting at 50/50. Saving a test and activating it are separate actions, so the setup can be reviewed before it starts.

Email & SMS

Poptin Growth can own the welcome sequence. Sleeknote sends the signup into another email platform, whose subscription remains part of the full setup. Poptin Growth combines captured contacts with email campaigns and automations. Its canvas supports a confirmed-subscription trigger, source filters, Yes/No conditions, delays, email actions and contact operations. Retrigger controls help manage repeat entry. The email editor includes columns, text, images, buttons, HTML, coupons and reusable blocks. Sleeknote’s documented workflow sends captured leads and their answers to a connected email platform. That platform handles the welcome email, subsequent messages and its own sending bill. Native email sending is unconfirmed in this comparison.

Team & sites

Poptin’s agency subaccounts and Sleeknote’s unlimited domains solve different multi-client requirements. Billing boundaries do not establish identical campaign permissions. Poptin exposes users, subaccounts and account- or subaccount-scoped API keys. Its Users screen describes broad editing, deletion and billing access, while seat availability depends on the offer. On Agency, sub-account users cannot open Billing and Plans. Treat the user allowance and the popup-domain allowance as separate plan details. Sleeknote supports additional users and super users, with billing restricted to the main owner. Core includes unlimited domains and account settings provide site profiles. The subscription scales with traffic rather than adding a base fee for every domain.

Poptin’s public API manages contacts and email operations, reads popup analytics, and pauses or resumes existing popups. Keys belong to an account or subaccount and can be revoked. Webhooks forward form submissions to an external endpoint. Sleeknote’s browser trigger opens an existing campaign, and Custom Integration sends submissions to an endpoint. Data & reporting

Poptin is useful for scheduled reports and external reporting through its API. Sleeknote adds Shopify purchase measurement and read-only MCP analysis of campaign results. Poptin reports visitors, views and conversions, with email reporting in the email product. Scheduled lead and statistics reports include recipient, subaccount, interval and timezone settings. Its reporting API is useful when you want to bring results into an external dashboard or an agent workflow.

Sleeknote reports views, leads and conversion rates with device, source and location breakdowns. Its Shopify connection adds purchase and revenue tracking. Lead and quiz data can be downloaded, and the read-only MCP makes campaign and split-test results available to an external assistant.

Integrations

Both can pass leads to an existing email or CRM platform. Sleeknote’s mapped quiz answers and Poptin’s contact and reporting API serve different follow-up workflows. Poptin connects to email and CRM platforms, with Make and Zapier for additional workflows. Slack supports team notifications, and a webhook route can forward submissions. Its REST API offers another route to contacts and reporting. A store can therefore keep its existing email platform rather than moving to Poptin Growth.

Sleeknote connects to email platforms including Klaviyo, Mailchimp and ActiveCampaign, plus HubSpot and Salesforce, Google Analytics, Segment and Zapier. Custom Integration sends submissions through POST, JSON POST or GET, with Basic Authentication available. Quiz fields can carry destination names and answer values.

Shopify

Poptin offers direct cart actions and customer rules. Sleeknote combines subscriber delivery, recommendations and purchase tracking; those should be compared as separate store operations. Poptin has a native Shopify app. Cart item count, cart value, specific products, customer tags and login status can shape the audience. Order-history targeting requires an upgrade. Shopify cart triggers and post-purchase automations can start the next interaction. Popup buttons offer Add to cart. Coupon setup supports fixed codes and imported unique-code lists, including CSV and fallback codes. These controls suit targeted capture and straightforward cart offers. Sleeknote has a native Shopify app that sends subscribers to Shopify and supplies purchase and revenue tracking. Shopify also appears among its product-recommendation connections. Coupon lists distribute codes to visitors, including as game rewards.

Pricing

Poptin has free and monthly entry routes with domain limits. Sleeknote includes unlimited domains but charges separately for games; its documented counting terms deserve attention for repeat visits. Poptin’s monthly popup plans are Basic at $25 for 10,000 visitors and one domain, Pro at $59 for 50,000 visitors and four domains, and Agency at $119 for 150,000 visitors and unlimited domains. Growth uses a separate contact-and-email model: the $19 bracket covers 500 contacts and 5,000 visitors, with unlimited emails and domains. Visitor allowances count visitors to installed pages, not just popup viewers.

Sleeknote’s current pricing page lists Core at €62 per month for up to 25,000 visitors, or €85 with Gamification. The 50,000-visitor bracket is €74 for Core. Annual billing has a lower monthly equivalent and requires an annual commitment. All these plans include unlimited domains.

The final score

Poptin is a good fit for contact validation, configurable properties, agency subaccounts and the option of native email. Sleeknote is more compelling for quizzes, calendars and lesson-based reward journeys across multiple domains. Keep its Gamification package and external sender in the budget; compare the actual visitor-counting terms rather than only the headline allowance.

What matters most to you?

Let’s put your priorities first

First, check that each tool can do the task. An absent or unconfirmed required capability means a dash with an explanation instead of a scenario score, and no winner highlight. Only qualifying tools share the points; a sole qualifier earns the full weight of each criterion it meets. 70 points go to the criteria directly related to it, and 30 to everything else. For “Popups without email marketing”, all 100 points go to the included capabilities and relevant popup pricing scenarios; unwanted features and email sending have zero weight. Both tools earn points for confirmed capabilities; unconfirmed ones earn zero. The first row keeps the original overall score.

The same capability earns half the points when both tools have it, and all the points when only one does. Changing the opponent can therefore change a product’s score without changing the product itself. The review pages separately show absolute capability ratings without price.

  2. One shared pool of 100 points

The 15 rounds cover 196 criteria. Each round has a set weight, divided equally among its criteria. These weights are our editorial choices.

  3. How features earn points

If both products meet a criterion, they split its points equally. If only one does, it earns all of them. An unconfirmed capability earns zero. If neither qualifies, those points are not awarded, so the two totals can add up to less than 100.

  4. How prices earn points

Ten scenarios carry 1 point each. We use the cheapest confirmed plan meeting each scenario’s traffic and feature requirements, billed monthly in USD. Equal prices split the point; a plan costing half as much earns twice the share. A free qualifying plan beats a paid one. If only one suitable plan and price are confirmed, it earns the full point.

  5. Which plans count

Feature rounds cover capabilities across the products’ plans. The total does not describe a single subscription; the pricing scenarios identify the plan needed for each stated use case.

  6. How your priorities change the score

A tool must first meet the task’s required capabilities. If a requirement is absent or unconfirmed, its scenario score is shown as a dash and it cannot be the winner; the status explains why. Only qualifying tools participate in point allocation and price comparisons. A sole qualifying tool earns the full weight of each criterion it meets; criteria it does not meet remain unearned. Standard priorities assign 70 points to their relevant criteria and 30 to the rest, preserving relative weights within each group. “Popups without email marketing” instead distributes all 100 points among its included criteria, preserving their relative weights and giving everything else zero. It includes lead capture, testing, reporting and external handoff. Its pricing criteria exclude email sending and feedback workloads. Included email features carry no penalty: only the required plan price counts. The evidence and scoring rules stay the same. The overall-feature row keeps the original weights.
