Hello Bar
33.61Small marketing teams that need signup forms, announcement bars, and promotional overlays, with targeting and split tests for everyday campaigns.
- Who is this app for?
- Small marketing teams running announcement bars, signup forms and promotional overlays with regular A/B tests.
- Main advantage
- Paid plans count popup views and include unlimited popups and A/B tests. Growth supports three seats.
- Main limitation
- The pricing cards and comparison table show different annual prices. The final charge needs confirmation before buying.
Pricing and plans
Growth is the first paid tier with A/B testing. Premium and Elite expand view capacity and team access. Starter has a lifetime allowance rather than a renewing monthly quota. For recurring campaigns, compare the paid view allowance after resolving the contradictory annual prices.
Ranges show conflicting annual prices on the same page, not selectable price bands. The paid view allowance applies per site; Starter’s allowance is lifetime, not monthly.

Features and plan access
Build announcements, signup forms and reward games using bars, overlays, sliders or floating alerts. Forms accept custom text, phone, dropdown, checkbox and multi-select fields, with required-field controls.
The game editor includes a wheel, scratch card and mystery boxes with configurable rewards. Use targeting and repeat-display controls to choose when campaigns appear; paid plans add A/B testing and larger view allowances.

Forms
Hello Bar’s form controls include email capture, phone field, single choice, multiple choice, and free text. Mark individual form fields as required. Collect email addresses in signup and game campaigns. The useful distinction is between collecting a contact and qualifying it: extra questions, consent and the next step after submission shape the signup flow. Phone-number collection and permission to send marketing messages are separate requirements.

Surveys
Hello Bar has no confirmed capabilities in this section in the current review. Choose the response format around the question you want to answer. A recommendation score, a satisfaction rating and a quiz outcome serve different purposes; support for one does not imply the others or an automatic report.

Experiments
Hello Bar’s testing tools include A/B testing. Run split tests on paid plans. Popup testing, email testing and automation experiments are separate capabilities. A useful comparison also considers traffic allocation, how a winner is selected and whether a no-popup control is available to measure the effect of showing a campaign at all.

Email & SMS
Hello Bar has no confirmed capabilities in this section in the current review. Capturing an address in a popup and sending a marketing campaign are separate jobs. Compare native sending channels, automation and their allowances independently from the popup subscription; an integration with a mailing platform does not include that platform’s sending service.

Team & sites
Growth includes three users; Premium and Elite offer unlimited seats in the published comparison. Starter has one seat, so a team requiring separate logins should compare paid options rather than assume the free campaign allowance includes collaboration.
A seat count does not establish client subaccounts or granular publishing permissions. Those controls have not been confirmed in this review. For agency work, clarify site access and the scope of the quoted agency offer in addition to the number of people who can log in.

Developer
Hello Bar has no confirmed capabilities in this section in the current review. The scope of each interface matters more than the API label. Opening an existing popup, sending a submitted form to an endpoint and creating or publishing campaigns are different operations. Agent access depends on those operations and the permissions exposed.

Support
Hello Bar lists basic technical support on Starter and Growth, with priority support on Premium and Elite. The reviewed comparison does not establish specific support hours or a response-time guarantee. We have not tested response speed. Choose a higher tier for a defined service requirement only after confirming what priority support changes for your account.

Editor & workflow
Hello Bar’s editing tools include free editor and campaign drafts. Save a campaign paused and return to edit it before activating it. Create and configure campaigns in the Free Forever account. Editing, saving a draft and activating a campaign are separate stages of the workflow. Consider how changes are prepared and reviewed before visitors see them. An AI writing assistant also has a narrower role than an assistant that can change layout or targeting.

Data & reporting
Hello Bar has no confirmed capabilities in this section in the current review. Use the reporting workflow to connect captured responses with the decisions you need to make. Downloading leads, scheduling reports and attributing revenue are different capabilities; a contact export alone does not establish an analytics dashboard or revenue measurement.

Integrations
Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign and Kit are among the documented email destinations. Zapier routes a selected site’s contact list into another workflow, while webhooks send captured contact data to an endpoint. These routes affect where new signups go; they do not establish a built-in CRM or a complete email sending subscription.
The pricing FAQ includes email integrations on all plans and lists webhooks for Premium and Elite. The Zapier guide says lists already attached to an external provider are not available for selection; exact Zapier plan access is not confirmed. Our integration guide explains the connection types and workflows.

Shopify
Shopify-specific capabilities for Hello Bar are not confirmed in this review. Installation, customer data, discounts and cart actions are separate capabilities. A Shopify listing alone does not establish support for all of them, and features supplied by a separate app need to be considered with that app’s access and pricing.

Capability score
The capability score brings together the confirmed features in the sections above, excluding pricing. Each metric belongs to one section, and a feature’s score includes its subfeatures. The breakdown shows how much each area contributes and where points remain unearned. It measures feature coverage, rather than conversion performance or value for money.

What one display or signup could cost
Conflicting public billing terms. We have not published a per-display or per-signup estimate for Hello Bar. Its advertised subscription and the conditions attached to it need to be resolved before those figures can support a buying decision.
Once the fee and allowance are clear, divide the subscription by actual campaign outcomes. Our comparison scenario uses 1,000 popup displays and 20 valid email signups, an assumed 2% signup rate. A quota of visitors, pageviews or leads is not automatically equivalent to 1,000 visible popups.
No reliable estimate
Conflicting public billing terms.Hello Bar alternatives: which should you choose?
Small marketing teams running announcement bars, signup forms and promotional overlays with regular A/B tests. The pricing cards and comparison table show different annual prices. The final charge needs confirmation before buying.
Compare Getsitecontrol and Elfsight Popup against that requirement. The cards below explain where each is a better fit. Match the billing unit, required features and site or account limits before comparing headline prices; the cheapest subscription does not always cover the same work.
Hello Bar vs Getsitecontrol
Hello Bar Growth includes 50,000 popup views, but its annual price is inconsistent on the pricing page. Getsitecontrol Pro publishes $19/month per site for 100,000 widget views.
- Choose Getsitecontrol
- For a clearer published monthly budget and display allowance.
- Choose Hello Bar
- If its editor and campaign formats fit an existing workflow, after confirming the actual billing terms.
Hello Bar vs Elfsight Popup
Elfsight Basic costs $6/month for three widgets and 5,000 loads. Hello Bar Growth supports unlimited popups and A/B tests, with a larger display allowance.
- Choose Elfsight Popup
- For a few simple widgets without an ongoing testing program.
- Choose Hello Bar
- For regular campaign experiments; confirm Growth’s conflicting advertised prices first.
About this review
Popup Papa compares published pricing, product documentation and help articles. This is a documentation-based review, not a hands-on performance test. Dates beside sources indicate when the corresponding evidence was checked; publication does not imply that every source was rechecked that day.
“Documented” means the provider describes the capability. A named plan is shown only where we recorded tier evidence. “Not confirmed” means the evidence is insufficient, not that the feature is absent. Paid add-ons and higher-tier restrictions are stated separately. Conflicting billing information prevents a unit-cost estimate.
Recommendations are editorial judgments about fit and cost. Sources are linked next to the claims they support, and every calculation uses the assumptions above.
