ConvertFlow vs Poper.
Which newsletter should this reader get?

Compare ConvertFlow and Poper for publication-specific signup forms, quiz results, mapped reader preferences and the cost of a multi-step campaign.

What do you need your website to do next?

A publisher runs a weekly markets briefing and a daily funding digest. One landing page asks readers about their interests and recommends an edition. A popup on the digest itself has a simpler job: collect an address for a publication the reader has already chosen.

Both products offer scored quizzes and can send a signup to a particular beehiiv publication. ConvertFlow lets the team build a landing-page journey around the result and examine completion at each step. Poper lets the editor configure fields and a publication ID for an individual popup. If one quiz promotes two editions, check the signup destination on each result path.

How the comparison works

15 rounds compare both platforms against the same 196 capability criteria, with 100 points distributed across the sections. Each round explains the practical differences and adds to the running score. The table beneath each round shows how the points are awarded. The conclusions bring those results together for different uses of the platforms.

Forms

ConvertFlow forms can collect consent and custom properties across several screens. A qualifying answer can determine the recommendation the visitor sees. Poper forms support choice, text, phone, hidden inputs and consent. A conditional path can require a higher plan.

Surveys

A reader who chooses both subjects needs a useful result screen. In ConvertFlow, design the tie or overlap case before assigning scores. For a Poper form dedicated to one edition, a mapped preference may be all the editorial team needs.

ConvertFlow can score quiz answers and use the total to choose a result screen. A finder can therefore recommend different products to visitors who started with the same question. Poper’s survey suite includes NPS and other rating formats. Business lists surveys and branching.

Integrations

A successful submission to the finance publication says nothing about the technology edition. Check both publication IDs after copying a campaign, then subscribe the same address to each. ConvertFlow lists newsletter connections on Personal. CRM, SMS and validation can make Prime the relevant starting plan. Poper connects individual popups to email services and CRMs. Available fields depend on the connector, and webhook access can require an upgrade.

Kit, Omnisend, ActiveCampaign, Drip, Brevo, Ortto, Cordial: Send captured contacts to the connected email platform from your forms and funnels. Newsletter connections start on Personal; CRM-oriented connections, including Omnisend, require Prime. Sending and fetching contacts consume the action allowance. beehiiv: Connect the API key and v2 publication ID from beehiiv settings. ConvertFlow lets the editor select beehiiv custom fields when building the signup, so a reader’s answer can accompany the subscription. A shared account key can serve multiple publications; check the ID on each form. Sendlane: Connect the Sendlane account, then add automation actions to a form or funnel step. ConvertFlow can subscribe or unsubscribe a person, add or remove a tag, and set a fixed field value. Map a form input or survey answer separately when the value varies by person. AWeber: After connecting AWeber, choose an AWeber custom field for a ConvertFlow form input or survey question. Configure a list or tag action for the submission. A field can preserve a reader’s answer while a tag identifies which download or sequence the reader requested. Campaign Monitor: Connect the Campaign Monitor API key and client ID. ConvertFlow retrieves lists and custom fields for that client. Set the submission action and field mapping so a campaign answer reaches the subscriber on the intended list. GetResponse: Paste a GetResponse API key into ConvertFlow. The connection retrieves campaigns and tags for form actions. ConvertFlow also documents selecting GetResponse custom fields for its form or survey answers, so a preference can be stored alongside the contact. Mailchimp: Send newsletter signups to Mailchimp from the Personal plan. Sending and fetching contacts consume ConvertFlow’s action allowance, so budget for integration volume as well as popup traffic. Klaviyo: The Klaviyo connector is listed on Prime. Sending and fetching contacts consume ConvertFlow’s action allowance, so include integration volume when sizing the plan.

ActiveCampaign, Acumbamail, Benchmark, Bento, BirdSend, Brevo, Drip, Elastic Email, Encharge, Enginemailer, Flodesk, Keila, Kit, Mailercloud, MailerLite, Mailmodo, Mailvio, Mautic, Omnisend, Remarkety, Rule, Selzy, Sender, Sendloop, Sendy, Simplero, Systeme.io, VBOUT, Zagomail: Send subscribers collected by Poper forms to the connected email platform. beehiiv: Enter the API key and publication ID in the popup’s beehiiv integration. Map the form values before saving. Test the address in the intended publication, especially after duplicating a popup to promote a second newsletter from the same account. Customer.io: Connect the Customer.io Site ID and API key in Poper, then match the form inputs to Customer.io attributes. Use an existing attribute key if a journey or segment already reads it. Verify the identity of a returning person before sending another offer. EmailOctopus: Add the API key in the popup’s EmailOctopus integration and select a target list. Map the captured values to fields that exist on that list. A personalization field can then hold an individual answer instead of assigning every subscriber the same label. iContact: Enter the client folder details and authorize iContact from the popup. Select the receiving lists and map inputs to their corresponding subscriber fields. Test a fresh address in the chosen folder before copying the setup to another publication. Mailjet: Connect the Mailjet API key and secret from the popup editor. Choose the destination list and map the signup fields. For a multilingual newsletter, check the stored language property against the value the Mailjet segment expects. Moosend: Enter the Moosend API key in Poper, retrieve the account’s lists and select one. Map form inputs to Moosend fields before saving. Open a subscriber on that list to check the value used by the next segment or personalized mailing. SendFox: Create the SendFox key, connect the popup, select its destination and review the input mappings in Poper. Start with the subscriber email. Check which additional values are accepted by SendFox before including them in a personalization rule. Sendlane: Connect Sendlane in the popup editor using an API key. Select a list and any offer tags, then map the inputs to Sendlane fields. This gives a signup both a destination and a way to distinguish the promotion that collected it. SendPulse: Connect the SendPulse account from the popup editor with its API credentials. Choose the list and map the popup fields to the subscriber attributes needed for follow-up. A separate field for the offer source lets several popups share an address book. AWeber: Sign in to AWeber from the popup’s Integrations tab and select a subscriber list. Map the Poper inputs to existing AWeber field keys. For a preference beyond the standard fields, add an attribute in the mapping and make sure its key exists in AWeber. Campaign Monitor: Supply a Campaign Monitor API key and client ID in the Poper integration. Select the destination list and review field mapping before saving the popup. The guide says lists from multiple brands can appear, making the list choice especially important for agencies. Constant Contact: Name the connection in the popup editor and sign in to Constant Contact. Selecting a list is optional. Poper fetches the account’s custom fields for mapping, so an answer can travel with the address. Choose the list explicitly if membership starts your follow-up. GetResponse: Enter the GetResponse API key in the popup editor, select a list and map the submitted fields, including custom fields. The guide describes a subscriber arriving on the selected list. Check the autoresponder day independently if this signup starts a timed course. Klaviyo: Connect Klaviyo, choose a list and map popup inputs to its fields. Configure reward delivery and the subsequent email sequence in Klaviyo.

Keap: Connect the account using ConvertFlow’s Keap/Infusionsoft integration, then assign form or survey answers to contact custom fields. Use a submission action for the intended follow-up. The recorded account placed this CRM connection on Prime. Ontraport: Connect the Ontraport App ID and API key in ConvertFlow, then select campaigns, tags or existing contact fields in the form actions. Survey answers can populate the matching field instead of remaining only in funnel reporting. Check plan access to this CRM route. Customer.io: Enter the Customer.io site ID, tracking key and App API key in ConvertFlow’s integrations area. The connection loads account data for segmenting contacts and configuring submission actions. The recorded account placed this CRM route on Prime; check access before building the funnel. Salesforce: Connect Salesforce to ConvertFlow and configure the field mappings using the CRM fields’ data names. Map a quiz answer to a field on the receiving record so the sales team can use it after submission. Check the setup against the record model used by your own organization. HubSpot: Available on Prime. Map form and survey answers to HubSpot custom fields, including contact and company details; additional fields use their destination data names.

GoHighLevel, Intercom, Crisp, Gist, Zendesk, Zixflow, Nutshell, Close, Capsule, Clio, Nimble, Apptivo, EngageBay, Agile CRM, Oracle Eloqua: Map contact fields into sales and communication tools. Pipedrive: Sign in to Pipedrive through Poper, select a workspace label and map the form inputs to Pipedrive fields. The label helps the sales team find records from this form. Check deal creation separately when a report counts opportunities rather than people. Zoho CRM: Authorize Zoho CRM from Poper and map popup inputs to corresponding CRM fields. A qualifying question needs a matching destination key. Inspect the resulting record and its module before promising that a form will put a deal in a salesperson’s pipeline. HubSpot: Authorize HubSpot in the popup’s Integrations settings and map inputs to contact properties. Additional attributes carry custom data; the account must allow contact creation.

What matters most to you?

Let’s put your priorities first

First, check that each tool can do the task. An absent or unconfirmed required capability means a dash with an explanation instead of a scenario score, and no winner highlight. Only qualifying tools share the points; a sole qualifier earns the full weight of each criterion it meets. 70 points go to the criteria directly related to it, and 30 to everything else. For “Popups without email marketing”, all 100 points go to the included capabilities and relevant popup pricing scenarios; unwanted features and email sending have zero weight. Both tools earn points for confirmed capabilities; unconfirmed ones earn zero. The first row keeps the original overall score.

How the comparison works

These scores are relative to ConvertFlow and Poper in this comparison. They cannot be carried over to comparisons with other products: each tool’s points depend on what the other participant offers.

  1. Relative scores, not universal ratings

The same capability earns half the points when both tools have it, and all the points when only one does. Changing the opponent can therefore change a product’s score without changing the product itself. The review pages separately show absolute capability ratings without price.

  2. One shared pool of 100 points

The 15 rounds cover 196 criteria. Each round has a set weight, divided equally among its criteria. These weights are our editorial choices.

  3. How features earn points

If both products meet a criterion, they split its points equally. If only one does, it earns all of them. An unconfirmed capability earns zero. If neither qualifies, those points are not awarded, so the two totals can add up to less than 100.

  4. How prices earn points

Ten scenarios carry 1 point each. We use the cheapest confirmed plan meeting each scenario’s traffic and feature requirements, billed monthly in USD. Equal prices split the point; a plan costing half as much earns twice the share. A free qualifying plan beats a paid one. If only one suitable plan and price are confirmed, it earns the full point.

  5. Which plans count

Feature rounds cover capabilities across the products’ plans. The total does not describe a single subscription; the pricing scenarios identify the plan needed for each stated use case.

  6. How your priorities change the score

A tool must first meet the task’s required capabilities. If a requirement is absent or unconfirmed, its scenario score is shown as a dash and it cannot be the winner; the status explains why. Only qualifying tools participate in point allocation and price comparisons. A sole qualifying tool earns the full weight of each criterion it meets; criteria it does not meet remain unearned. Standard priorities assign 70 points to their relevant criteria and 30 to the rest, preserving relative weights within each group. “Popups without email marketing” instead distributes all 100 points among its included criteria, preserving their relative weights and giving everything else zero. It includes lead capture, testing, reporting and external handoff. Its pricing criteria exclude email sending and feedback workloads. Included email features carry no penalty: only the required plan price counts. The evidence and scoring rules stay the same. The overall-feature row keeps the original weights.
