ConvertFlow vs Personizely.
Guide the product choice or test the product page?
Compare ConvertFlow and Personizely for Shopify quizzes, product recommendations, widget and website experiments, account access and monthly workload costs.
What do you need your website to do next?
A shopper knows the kind of shoes they want but needs help choosing a model. Another knows the model and wants to select their size. The first journey needs a recommendation from answers. The second needs the correct variant in the basket and a way to measure whether the page helped. Those two shoppers give this comparison its starting point.
ConvertFlow is worth pricing when the difficult part is the guided path and its branches. Personizely is a stronger trial when merchandising and website experiments belong together. In each account, build the path for one available and one unavailable product before deciding how much the editor matters.
How the comparison works
15 rounds compare both platforms against the same 196 capability criteria, with 100 points distributed across the sections. Each round explains the practical differences and adds to the running score. The table beneath each round shows how the points are awarded. The conclusions bring those results together for different uses of the platforms.
Formats & content
ConvertFlow can connect a sticky bar or popup to a longer landing-page journey. If the offer ends at a selected variant, count the steps the shopper actually needs in each tool. Personizely offers popups, compact callouts, bars and embedded widgets. A coupon can be copied with a click, and text can use a visitor property with a fallback for anonymous traffic.

Forms
ConvertFlow supports consent, custom properties and multi-step input. A merchandising team should identify which answers affect the immediate product result and which the CRM must retain. A widget can collect a phone number, free text, single or multiple selections and separate consent choices. Responses are stored on visitor profiles, where a later submission may update a previous answer.

Surveys
ConvertFlow includes scored answers and conditional results. A question that determines a recommendation needs more than a field that simply records a preference. Personizely supports NPS survey popups and preference questions. The widget contact export includes respondents who supplied an email or phone. It can therefore contain fewer rows than an anonymous survey received.

Gamification
Product discovery quizzes are ConvertFlow’s relevant incentive here. Native chance-based prize games were unconfirmed in our editor review. Decide whether the visitor expects an answer or a chance to win. The prize wheel has weighted segments, retry and no-prize outcomes. Each segment can open a different reward step or start an automation.

Targeting
ConvertFlow can use a page, visitor context and contact data to determine the funnel shown. The product quiz can begin from a click or other eligible trigger. Compare a returning buyer with an anonymous visitor. Rules cover URLs, subdomains, time windows and repeat exposure. A widget can open after inactivity or a hover, and stop appearing after a conversion.

Experiments
For a question about the product page, include the landing experience in the experiment. For a question about the quiz, look at where each version loses shoppers before the recommendation. The reviewed Pro tier includes A/B testing and conditional funnel paths. Compare the cost of testing the full quiz with the cost of a Personizely widget test and a separate website experiment. Premium includes A/B testing of widgets. Essential includes other kinds of website tests, so access to a theme or URL test alone does not establish that a popup can be split-tested on that tier.

Email & SMS
Connected destinations receive leads and customer information from ConvertFlow. Include the sender that delivers follow-up when evaluating a funnel purchase. A form can write contact and consent fields to a visitor profile and send the contact to a connected email platform. The welcome sequence depends on how that destination uses the fields.

Team & sites
Collaborators and client brands can be managed in ConvertFlow, with a separate subscription per site. Personizely’s reviewed multi-site allowance changes the economics for a portfolio. The reviewed Premium offer includes ten websites. Each site has its own widgets, goals and campaigns, an important boundary when a team manages several storefronts.

Developer
Ask an analyst for a read-only report and an operator for a reversible campaign action. Personizely documents start and stop for existing widgets, with permissions depending on the credential. ConvertFlow’s MCP can report where shoppers leave a quiz, create another campaign from a template and change a variant’s trigger. Trigger edits can remain in draft until publication. Changing traffic allocation, however, queues a republish. REST and MCP can read experiment results and start or stop an existing widget. OAuth permits read-only access. An account API key also permits start and stop across websites, so the credential type matters for a reporting integration.

Support
ConvertFlow offers chat and email support. A store needing someone to reconstruct a catalogue quiz should price implementation separately from getting a product question answered. Editor & workflow
ConvertFlow AI produced headline alternatives in our draft. Integrations, validation and AI can consume billable actions. The number of submitted forms alone cannot explain that usage. The editor lets a team compose a widget from steps and elements, then attach conditional actions to visitor interactions. Existing widgets can be operated externally, while their design is edited in the dashboard.

Data & reporting
Step-level results can help a team find where a shopper leaves ConvertFlow’s product journey. For an order outcome, reconcile the actual transaction with the session that received the recommendation. A widget report can distinguish views, submissions, contacts and revenue. A returning contact who submits an updated answer is a submission but does not become a new contact a second time.

Integrations
ConvertFlow lists newsletter integrations on Personal, with CRM and SMS options and validation on Prime. Price the plan and actions for the exact destination, including updates to existing records. Form and survey answers can update profile fields. Widget automations can send a webhook or act on a connected marketing list when a particular visitor interaction occurs.
| Integrations | ConvertFlow | Personizely |
|---|---|---|
| +0.13 Kit, Omnisend, ActiveCampaign, Drip, Brevo, Ortto, Cordial: Send captured contacts to the connected email platform from your forms and funnels. Newsletter connections start on Personal; CRM-oriented connections, including Omnisend, require Prime. Sending and fetching contacts consume the action allowance. beehiiv: Connect the API key and v2 publication ID from beehiiv settings. ConvertFlow lets the editor select beehiiv custom fields when building the signup, so a reader’s answer can accompany the subscription. A shared account key can serve multiple publications; check the ID on each form. Sendlane: Connect the Sendlane account, then add automation actions to a form or funnel step. ConvertFlow can subscribe or unsubscribe a person, add or remove a tag, and set a fixed field value. Map a form input or survey answer separately when the value varies by person. AWeber: After connecting AWeber, choose an AWeber custom field for a ConvertFlow form input or survey question. Configure a list or tag action for the submission. A field can preserve a reader’s answer while a tag identifies which download or sequence the reader requested. Campaign Monitor: Connect the Campaign Monitor API key and client ID. ConvertFlow retrieves lists and custom fields for that client. Set the submission action and field mapping so a campaign answer reaches the subscriber on the intended list. GetResponse: Paste a GetResponse API key into ConvertFlow. The connection retrieves campaigns and tags for form actions. ConvertFlow also documents selecting GetResponse custom fields for its form or survey answers, so a preference can be stored alongside the contact. Mailchimp: Send newsletter signups to Mailchimp from the Personal plan. Sending and fetching contacts consume ConvertFlow’s action allowance, so budget for integration volume as well as popup traffic. Klaviyo: The Klaviyo connector is listed on Prime. Sending and fetching contacts consume ConvertFlow’s action allowance, so include integration volume when sizing the plan. | +0.13 Kit, Brevo, Omnisend, MailerLite, ActiveCampaign, Sender, Ometria, Zoho Marketing Automation: Use a form automation to send widget subscribers to the connected email platform. Ontraport: Personizely lists Ontraport for subscribers acquired through its list-building widgets. Connect the destination and inspect the receiving contact after a form submission. Its public listing does not establish a campaign-enrolment action or a mapping for a particular custom field. CM Commerce: Personizely lists CM Commerce separately as a destination for email subscribers from its popups. Check the actual subscriber list in the commerce account. The vendor listing confirms list growth; supported custom fields and the authentication steps are unspecified. CleverReach: Authorize CleverReach under Settings → Integrations and add the list action to the widget’s subscription form. For recognizing a subscriber who clicks back to the site, Personizely also documents adding a subscriber identifier to mailing links. Check the form action and returning-visitor setup separately. Dotdigital: Connect Dotdigital in Personizely and map the contact fields used by the widget. For recognition on a later visit, Personizely documents adding the Dotdigital contact ID parameter to links in outbound email. A new signup and a click back from a mailing are separate exchanges. Moosend: Connect Moosend in Personizely, then assign the list to the widget’s subscription form. Personizely also documents identifying a returning subscriber from an email link. Sending a new address to a list and recognizing the same reader later require separate setup. SendPulse: Use the SendPulse API ID and secret in Personizely’s integration settings. Edit the widget form and choose the destination list for the subscription action. Authorizing the account and assigning that action to a form are separate steps. SmartrMail: Connect a SmartrMail API token and select the destination list in the widget’s subscription action. Personizely recommends a manually created list for popup signups, separate from the customer list populated by the ecommerce integration. Mailjet: Enter the API key and secret for the correct Mailjet account in Personizely. Assign the selected list to the widget form. Personizely notes that the list label it shows can come from the first part of the email associated with the list. Sendlane: Connect a Sendlane API token, map Personizely custom fields and assign an action to the widget form. The available actions include adding a contact to a list and unsubscribing from a list. Inspect the action on a copied form before publishing it. iContact: Personizely lists iContact as a destination for its list-building widgets. Assign the receiving integration to the signup form and verify the address on the intended iContact list. The provider’s listing does not spell out a mapping for additional fields. GetResponse: Authorize GetResponse from Personizely’s integration settings, then add the GetResponse list action to the subscription form in the widget. That action determines where the new email address lands. The guide confirms list delivery but leaves autoresponder cycle-day handling open. AWeber: Connect the AWeber account in Settings → Integrations, authorize access, then select the AWeber action and list on the widget’s subscription form. The documented outcome is a subscriber on that list. Verify tags separately if the first message depends on one. SendGrid: Connect SendGrid using an API key in Personizely settings, then configure the SendGrid action on the widget’s subscription form and choose the list. This sends signup addresses to Marketing Contacts. Check any additional profile attributes on the receiving contact. Constant Contact: Authorize Constant Contact in Settings → Integrations, then edit the subscription form in the widget and select its action and destination list. Authorization alone does not assign the list. The guide demonstrates adding new contacts and leaves extra field mapping unspecified. Campaign Monitor: Authorize Campaign Monitor in the account integration settings, then select the list in the widget’s subscription form action. New subscribers are added to that list. Confirm the selected client and list for each widget when an agency manages several accounts. Mailchimp: Add a Mailchimp form automation, select a list and map fields explicitly. Choose Add to list for single opt-in or Add with confirmation for double opt-in. Unmapped values are not sent. Klaviyo: Form automation sends standard fields and custom properties. Subscribe to list records consent; Add to list does not. Confirmation follows list settings, and SMS needs form consent. | |
| SMS | +0.13 Attentive, Postscript, Tatango: Prime connections for SMS workflows. Form consent and the destination subscription need separate setup. | +0.13 Postscript, Attentive, Yotpo: Route contacts and supported SMS subscriber information. |
| CRM | +0.13 Intercom, Attio, GoHighLevel: Map contacts and use supported lists, tags or fields. The account marks the listed CRM routes Prime, except Salesforce on Plus. Keap: Connect the account using ConvertFlow’s Keap/Infusionsoft integration, then assign form or survey answers to contact custom fields. Use a submission action for the intended follow-up. The recorded account placed this CRM connection on Prime. Ontraport: Connect the Ontraport App ID and API key in ConvertFlow, then select campaigns, tags or existing contact fields in the form actions. Survey answers can populate the matching field instead of remaining only in funnel reporting. Check plan access to this CRM route. Customer.io: Enter the Customer.io site ID, tracking key and App API key in ConvertFlow’s integrations area. The connection loads account data for segmenting contacts and configuring submission actions. The recorded account placed this CRM route on Prime; check access before building the funnel. Salesforce: Connect Salesforce to ConvertFlow and configure the field mappings using the CRM fields’ data names. Map a quiz answer to a field on the receiving record so the sales team can use it after submission. Check the setup against the record model used by your own organization. HubSpot: Available on Prime. Map form and survey answers to HubSpot custom fields, including contact and company details; additional fields use their destination data names. | +0.13 Postscript, Attentive, Yotpo: Route contacts and supported SMS subscriber information. HubSpot: Use the form’s Add/update contact automation, map properties and add a list action if needed. Unmapped fields are not sent; editor previews do not run automations. |

Shopify
ConvertFlow can use store context, feeds and conditional recommendations in a guided journey. For the final step, verify the selected product, stock and cart state separately from a displayed result. Widgets can add a selected product to the cart, apply a discount and create a Shopify customer. Product pickers read variants and collections. Pricing
Forecast the number of sites and the integrations performed per completion. A store sending several updates per lead may reach an action limit before a view limit. In the reviewed monthly offers, ConvertFlow Pro starts at $299 for 100,000 funnel views and 10,000 actions. Personizely Premium starts at $59 for 10,000 visitors and ten sites. These amounts cover different traffic units and experiments. Premium costs $59 per month at the reviewed 10,000-visitor allowance and includes ten sites. Essential is $39 at that traffic level. Widget experiments are one reason to budget for Premium.

What matters most to you?
Let’s put your priorities first
First, check that each tool can do the task. An absent or unconfirmed required capability means a dash with an explanation instead of a scenario score, and no winner highlight. Only qualifying tools share the points; a sole qualifier earns the full weight of each criterion it meets. 70 points go to the criteria directly related to it, and 30 to everything else. For “Popups without email marketing”, all 100 points go to the included capabilities and relevant popup pricing scenarios; unwanted features and email sending have zero weight. Both tools earn points for confirmed capabilities; unconfirmed ones earn zero. The first row keeps the original overall score.

How the comparison works
These scores are relative to ConvertFlow and Personizely in this comparison. They cannot be carried over to comparisons with other products: each tool’s points depend on what the other participant offers.
Relative scores, not universal ratings
The same capability earns half the points when both tools have it, and all the points when only one does. Changing the opponent can therefore change a product’s score without changing the product itself. The review pages separately show absolute capability ratings without price.
One shared pool of 100 points
The 15 rounds cover 196 criteria. Each round has a set weight, divided equally among its criteria. These weights are our editorial choices.

If both products meet a criterion, they split its points equally. If only one does, it earns all of them. An unconfirmed capability earns zero. If neither qualifies, those points are not awarded, so the two totals can add up to less than 100.
How prices earn points
Ten scenarios carry 1 point each. We use the cheapest confirmed plan meeting each scenario’s traffic and feature requirements, billed monthly in USD. Equal prices split the point; a plan costing half as much earns twice the share. A free qualifying plan beats a paid one. If only one suitable plan and price are confirmed, it earns the full point.
Which plans count
Feature rounds cover capabilities across the products’ plans. The total does not describe a single subscription; the pricing scenarios identify the plan needed for each stated use case.
How your priorities change the score
A tool must first meet the task’s required capabilities. If a requirement is absent or unconfirmed, its scenario score is shown as a dash and it cannot be the winner; the status explains why. Only qualifying tools participate in point allocation and price comparisons. A sole qualifying tool earns the full weight of each criterion it meets; criteria it does not meet remain unearned. Standard priorities assign 70 points to their relevant criteria and 30 to the rest, preserving relative weights within each group. “Popups without email marketing” instead distributes all 100 points among its included criteria, preserving their relative weights and giving everything else zero. It includes lead capture, testing, reporting and external handoff. Its pricing criteria exclude email sending and feedback workloads. Included email features carry no penalty: only the required plan price counts. The evidence and scoring rules stay the same. The overall-feature row keeps the original weights.
