Alternatives to Omnisend

Compare Omnisend alternatives for replacing forms alone or moving the whole email program. Check Shopify workflows, consent, A/B tests and monthly sending costs.

Why are you switching from Omnisend?

If Omnisend already sends the right email when a shopper abandons a cart, a disappointing signup popup need not put that flow at risk. Start with two columns. The first contains everything that appears on the website. The second contains the lists, permissions, store events and messages that still have to work after the popup closes.

Try Poptin or Claspo for the first column while retaining Omnisend as the sender. Start with Klaviyo if both columns must move. For a smaller Shopify program combining a display, a discount and later marketing, price Privy alongside Klaviyo using the same audience and send volume.

Replace only the forms

What Omnisend gets right and where it falls short

Omnisend owns the subscriber relationship from form to message. A merchant can collect a preference over several steps and reach the same customer through a welcome or cart-recovery flow. A Wheel of Fortune offers an incentive; tests cover popup, flyout and fullscreen forms. An embedded form has a different testing scope.

This continuity is most valuable when someone acts after signup. A first order should affect later messages, an unsubscribe must survive an import and a phone number needs the appropriate permission before an SMS campaign. Replacing the editor is a small part of moving those responsibilities.

A contact-based sending plan may be a good buy for a store sending regularly and an expensive basis for an occasional announcement. Free, Standard and Pro represent different audience and sending capacities. Price SMS separately and consider what other forms still feed the account before assuming its entire subscription can be removed.

Omnisend alternatives by reason for switching

Each group uses the directory score out of 100 for that particular job. The first row gives you Omnisend as a reference. A lower-scoring tool can still be the best choice when it solves the particular problem behind the move.

Replace the popup and keep Omnisend sending

Find the exact signup source for the existing welcome message. It might depend on list status, a property or an event. Have the replacement supply that requirement, then let Omnisend continue handling the store’s messages. That pilot avoids changing a working cart program just to gain a better form.

Poptin is useful for validating the incoming address, Claspo for a larger incentive calendar, and OptiMonk for store promotions the merchant wants to experiment with. Verify the delivery route and plan in the Omnisend integration guide. A popup that says thank you has only proved the browser step.

Move the welcome and recovery program as well as collection

List the customer events that start and stop a sequence. A checkout reminder prepared yesterday should not go out after a customer buys today. Recreating an email design is comparatively easy; preserving the purchase exclusion and outstanding messages is the migration work.

Klaviyo is the strongest first comparison for profile-led segmentation and store-triggered flows. Privy is useful for a Shopify merchant coupling displays with email and SMS. Poptin Growth can suit a smaller confirmed-subscriber welcome series. A checkout-recovery requirement needs its own test regardless of a candidate’s overall email score.

Keep the store offer and customer context together

A store coupon can be visible in a popup, stored on a customer profile and redeemed at checkout. These events can happen hours apart. Moving the form alone leaves the store responsible for redemption and the sending platform responsible for the message.

Privy deserves a trial for cart-targeted displays and native follow-up. Getsitecontrol suits an action the shopper needs to complete inside the widget. Klaviyo is compelling where purchase history determines later messages. Test an existing customer as well as a new signup before comparing sales totals.

Collect preferences and the right permission on each step

A form can capture an email address on the first screen and ask for a telephone number later. The customer who leaves in between has made one choice. Requiring them to complete every step before handing off the address could discard a valid email signup.

Klaviyo is a good trial when profile fields and channel permissions must remain close to messaging. Alia documents sending the reward to Klaviyo when a shopper submits an email. If Omnisend will keep sending, check that the actual reward reaches its welcome message before switching forms. Poptin is relevant where invalid or unsuitable addresses waste the marketer’s time.

Test a storefront change against the result that matters

Omnisend can test several display form formats. Identify the surface causing the problem. A marketer may want a test on an embedded form, a holdout with no discount, or an experiment tied to later order margin. A new email platform is only one possible response.

OptiMonk can include unexposed visitors. Claspo is a practical trial for variations of a reward or signup. Getsitecontrol fits tests involving a form with different question paths. Compare the same confirmed contact or redeemed order across versions rather than choosing a design from raw submits alone.

Separate stores, collaborators and reporting

An Owner or Admin in Omnisend can access every store in the account. That can fit an internal operator and conflict with an agency contract promising client isolation. Determine who really needs account-wide authority before rebuilding the sending stack.

Klaviyo offers Portfolio oversight of independent accounts. Poptin can give clients scoped subaccounts for onsite campaigns. Getsitecontrol can divide site editing from activation. Ask what each option can show the client about contacts, billing and performance as well as what it permits the designer to change.

Give a promotion its own goal outside subscriber growth

A returning customer following a shipping notice needs information, not another newsletter invitation. The same store might want a later cart offer to add a product or apply a discount. Count the completion of the promised action, then decide whether it should produce any contact record at all.

Getsitecontrol is relevant for a store action in the widget. Privy is useful when the merchant also runs messages around that offer. OptiMonk suits a promotion whose effect needs to be measured against a group without it. The database can remain untouched for visitors just reading a notice.

Omnisend alternatives ranked by overall rating

These overall scores cover the whole toolkit. Read the profile of any contender you would consider moving to.

Getsitecontrol · 72.87

Papa’s take

I’d choose Getsitecontrol for a merchant rebuilding an enquiry or cart promotion. If Omnisend must stay in place, confirm a delivery route on the proposed plan before doing any design work. Poptin and Claspo have named Omnisend connections in our directory.

Getsitecontrol makes sense where the hard part is a targeted form, a conditional enquiry or an in-widget Shopify action. Its widget pricing follows displays per site. Retaining Omnisend means its contact and sending costs still belong in the total.

Native email is a separate option. If the merchant considers moving follow-up as well, account for sending credits and rebuild the exclusions that prevent customers from receiving inappropriate messages after purchase.

Klaviyo · 68.56

Papa’s take

I’d test a buyer who orders between the first and second recovery messages. The right result is silence on that second reminder. If the new account cannot explain why it suppressed the send, postpone moving the rest of the flows.

Klaviyo is the closest whole-program comparison when the merchant relies on store events, persistent profiles and several messaging channels. Match the audience and sending month in the price estimate. A promotion for new accounts can obscure the cost after the migration window ends.

For a form-only problem this may be more disruption than the store needs. One new form feeding Omnisend is an easier experiment than moving every historical subscription state. Follow the existing sender route before taking on a full account move.

Privy · 65.93

Papa’s take

I’d take a discount issued yesterday and try it after the new form launches tomorrow. A successful fresh signup tells you nothing about yesterday’s customer. The store should be able to honour both without restarting the same welcome series.

Privy combines displays with Shopify-aware marketing. It is attractive for a merchant who wants cart conditions, offers and later messages managed by the same small team. An Omnisend customer with elaborate segmentation should compare the most demanding live audience before choosing.

Check the reachable contact count, email volume and SMS use separately. A small store sending a daily email can have a different best plan from a store with a larger, infrequently contacted audience.

OptiMonk · 60.42

Papa’s take

I’d start with a margin question. If shoppers who never see the offer buy just as often, the merchant may need fewer popups, not a different welcome email. Keeping Omnisend in place helps isolate that experiment.

OptiMonk is a specialist alternative for audience-level promotion tests. A holdout can reveal whether the offer changes purchases. Compare the same time window and avoid exposing the control audience to an identical discount through another channel.

The strongest case is often a complementary purchase. The popup platform handles the test while Omnisend continues handling customer communications. Budget for those two responsibilities explicitly.

Poptin · 58.03

Papa’s take

I’d ask the marketer to rebuild the smallest sequence that still matters. Confirm an address, wait through a delay and check the next message. If the difficult recovery branches remain in Omnisend, price Poptin first as an onsite purchase.

Poptin has a popup family and a Growth offer with a contact allowance and email automation. Its validation and agency controls can address lead quality or client access without a larger messaging migration.

Count the visitors on pages running the snippet as well as the contacts the sender must retain. A cheaper entry price based on one of those figures should not be compared with an Omnisend bill covering the other.

Claspo · 42.39

Papa’s take

I’d run a losing game and a winning game through the destination list. Make sure both customers get exactly what the invitation promised. The exporter should retain the outcome the welcome email needs even if the visitor never plays again.

Claspo fits a merchant who likes Omnisend’s sender but has outgrown a single reward mechanic. Live experiments and seasonal designs can be tested on a small allowance. Count site pageviews and branding requirements when the pilot becomes a store-wide promotion.

Keep game participation and marketing consent distinct. A successful play may teach the store about an offer without entitling it to send a newsletter or text message.

Alia · 41.61

Papa’s take

I’d choose the shopper who gives an email but refuses a phone number. Ask what reward that person earned and inspect what the connected email platform received. Abandonment between steps is part of the expected experience.

Alia is a Shopify acquisition alternative when the store wants quizzes, rewards and optimisation. The sender still has an important job. Check the supported destination, offer field and confirmation behaviour for the actual connected stack before assuming a precise Klaviyo example applies to Omnisend.

For a store whose best-performing automation is the cart reminder, buying a more elaborate acquisition program changes only the top of that journey. Assess the additional qualified audience at the real monthly visitor tier.

Five switching decisions in practice

1. A customer buys while the old recovery email is queued

Create a test checkout, start recovery and then place the order on the other side of the cutover. Check the queue in both systems. A correct purchase event matters only if the waiting message evaluates the correct exclusion before sending.

In Klaviyo, follow one buyer from the checkout event through to the placed-order event on their profile. If each sender cancels only its own new reminders, pause the old queue before handing over recovery.

2. A shopper redeems an old coupon after the new form launches

Keep a real test code from the old journey and a fresh code from the replacement. Redeem each under the original expiry and eligibility terms. Trace the field each email template reads so an imported customer never receives a blank offer.

Privy can handle Shopify displays and subsequent messages in the same account. Bring one shopper who already has an Omnisend code into the handover test; the store still needs to honour that shopper’s original terms.

3. Someone already unsubscribed asks for a return

Submit a service enquiry from a suppressed address. The service team should receive the message and enough context to help. Check subscription status afterwards. A useful support reply should not silently reactivate promotional sending.

A Getsitecontrol enquiry can branch to a service question and trigger follow-up. Keep the route into the support inbox separate from any action that subscribes the address to a marketing list.

4. A seasonal game creates far more plays than new subscribers

Separate repeat attempts, winning claims, unique addresses and confirmed subscriptions. Pick the correct number for prize fulfilment and a different number for the retention report. Reconciling the two is much easier when the outcome travels with the submission.

Try the winning and losing paths in Claspo, then inspect what Omnisend received for each. A new list member is enough for a general welcome, but fulfilment also needs the actual prize if different winners receive different offers.

5. Two clients share an agency operator and no customer data

Create two fictional projects. Retrieve the first client’s results using its own login and reporting credential, then try the second test report with that credential. The expected refusal is as important as the working export for the correct client.

Poptin has subaccount-scoped reporting keys. Use those credentials for each client’s lead report; keep access to Omnisend’s own sending account under a separate invitation.

What would switching from Omnisend cost?

Use an ordinary month with a known contact count, newsletter calendar and automation volume. Include messages already queued and any SMS spend. A free form builder cannot replace this workload without a separate sending subscription.

Price the month after the migration discount expires

Next price a welcome-only brief. A program may need one automated message rather than a full marketing suite. Conversely, retiring a sender also means replacing cart suppression, segmentation and reporting. List the systems still required before subtracting Omnisend from the budget.

Signup plus an automated welcome email

Both examples use 500 active contacts. The welcome-only example drops monthly sends from 5,000 to 1,000 and site visitors from 5,000 to 1,000. A store keeping Omnisend for cart recovery should include that subscription when comparing the combined bill.

When I’d keep Omnisend

Keep Omnisend when signup, consent, customer events and follow-up already work together and the active audience fits the sending plan. One unconvincing popup or a desire for a seasonal game seldom justifies rebuilding a functioning recovery program.

Move the whole account when the missing capability is genuinely downstream, such as a segment or workflow the team cannot operate as required. Let a completed customer journey, including a purchase and an unsubscribe, decide when migration is finished.
