Omnisend Popup Integrations: Tools, Tags & Subscriber Data
Compare popup tools that connect to Omnisend: prices, tags, profile fields, email and SMS subscription settings, and welcome-message delivery.
An Omnisend connection can create a contact, attach information and subscribe that person to a channel. Those are not the same result. A popup collecting an email address, a phone number and a product preference needs a clear route for each value, especially when email and SMS are offered at different steps.
The tools below have recorded Omnisend connections. Some are general website popup builders; others are designed around Shopify. Their ranking reflects overall capabilities. The more useful comparison for an existing Omnisend account is the detail beneath it: how campaign data arrives and which part of the welcome experience the connector can activate.
The contact is only the beginning of the connection
A form submission has several pieces of meaning: who the visitor is, what they requested and how they agreed to hear from the store. Keeping those pieces separate makes the resulting contact useful. A campaign tag can identify the signup offer, a property can hold an answer, and the subscription settings can describe the selected channel.
OptinMonster’s documented Omnisend route illustrates this distinction. It provides tags, field mapping and separate channel-subscription settings, with an option to request the Omnisend welcome email. That is more specific than simply forwarding an address. Other connectors should not inherit those capabilities merely because they connect to the same platform.
What should your Omnisend popup send?
| Requirement | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Contact identity | An email address and phone number identify contact channels. A phone field in the popup does not by itself establish SMS subscription. |
| Campaign tags | Tags can identify the offer or entry source. They are useful for campaign grouping without turning every label into an answer collected from the visitor. |
| Custom properties | Preferences belong in named properties with consistent values. Mapping needs to preserve what the answer means for later segmentation. |
| Channel subscription | Email and SMS choices need their own supported transfer. Adding a contact and subscribing that contact should not be treated as synonyms. |
| Coupon data | A displayed discount is different from a coupon value delivered to Omnisend. Game support and coupon-property transfer require separate confirmation. |
| Welcome message | A successful signup can be followed by a platform welcome email or an automation. The connector must support the intended entry route. |

Starting points for different needs
OptiMonk
A strong option when the surrounding campaign uses store context and product offers. Its recorded Omnisend connection includes destination selection and field mapping.
OptinMonster
The dedicated setup guide is unusually explicit about tags, custom properties, channel subscription and coupon fields. Its connector-tier documentation has a conflict to resolve before purchase.
Pop Convert
A Shopify-focused route for sending captured subscribers to an external email platform. Its own email features are a separate part of the product from the Omnisend handoff.
How each connection works
Connection details and plan conditions are shown below. The field tables describe the popup editor; supported transfer depends on the connector.
OptiMonk
Connection to Omnisend
Connect the provider account, select a list and map signup fields to the destination. Some connectors retain older service names in the picker, including Sendinblue for Brevo.
Papa’s take
A modest paid traffic tier for an active store; annual billing is cheaper.
| Editor capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Field mapping | Choose destination lists and map signup fields to email or CRM providers. |
| Phone field | The visual editor exposes a Phone field with a country selector. This establishes collection controls, not SMS consent or delivery. |
| Single choice | Radio options expose editable labels and recorded values. The connected field determines the choice type; switching type requires a new element. |
| Multiple choice | The native choice-group panel supports multiple checkbox options, with an optional required flag. |
| Consent checkbox | The test form rendered an unchecked, optional email-marketing checkbox. It is a recorded choice field.Email marketing consent · Privacy terms consent |
| Free text | The generated form includes an optional comment textarea. An AI revision removed an unwanted duplicate from the first page. |
| Email capture | The inspected email field exposes required-field and error-message settings. A separate Shopify test form rejected empty and malformed email and stored a valid synthetic response in OptiMonk. The earlier multi-step editor preview did not enforce validation. |
Poptin
Connection to Omnisend
Send new popup contacts to the connected email platform for follow-up. The integration selector is included in Growth Free; custom-field transfer depends on the selected connector.
Papa’s take
Unbranded popup campaigns with a practical visitor allowance. Email bundles are separate.
| Editor capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Single choice | The inspected field offers Radio and Single-select display modes, with editable option labels and values. This confirms one selected answer; it does not establish a scored quiz or rating scale. |

| Phone field | Collect a phone number in a dedicated contact field. |
| Free text | Collect a written response with the Message field. |

| Hidden fields | Set an input field to Hidden instead of displaying it to visitors. |
| Email capture | Collect email addresses through signup forms and pass new contacts to the connected mailing list. |
Pop Convert
Connection to Omnisend
Send subscribers collected by Shopify popups to an external email service. Pop Convert also has native email flows, so external delivery and the app’s own follow-up are separate parts of the setup.

The entry tier already includes the core popup experiments. Shopify listing and the site calculator show different tiers; these are Shopify listing prices.
| Editor capability | What it does |

How the connection changes the workflow
Example setups using the connections described above.
A store offer that preserves the visitor’s preference
An illustrative product-interest campaign could collect the address and ask which collection the visitor wants to follow. The preference is useful only if Omnisend receives it in a property the store can use. An ordinary campaign tag can identify the popup, while the property holds the visitor’s answer.
OptiMonk’s recorded integration provides mapping alongside its store-oriented campaign tools. This makes it relevant when the invitation depends on shopping context. The targeting information used to show a popup and the data passed to Omnisend remain separate: a store condition does not automatically become a contact property.
A game reward that continues in the welcome email
OptinMonster documents transfer of its wheel reward through coupon_code and coupon_label. This provides a concrete route from a game outcome to contact data, rather than assuming that every game integration delivers its prize to the email platform. The receiving message still has to use that data.
This setup has two outputs worth distinguishing: the onsite result and the email follow-up. A visitor can leave after seeing the reward, so the email should use the recorded prize instead of choosing a new one. Eligibility, expiry and whether the discount is valid in the store are separate from transferring the code.
Email capture inside a Shopify campaign
Pop Convert combines Shopify-based campaigns with external email destinations, including Omnisend. It can therefore be considered for a store that wants the capture experience in its Shopify workflow while retaining an existing email platform. Its native email product and the external connection should be compared as separate routes.
The external connection keeps Omnisend as the subscriber destination, while Pop Convert supplies the onsite campaign. This differs from using Pop Convert’s own sending features: the messages and audience remain in the existing Omnisend account. Provider-specific field coverage determines whether additional answers can accompany the address.
Check the whole journey before launch
Use a small test campaign with addresses you control. Check the receiving record and the follow-up, not only the popup’s success message.
- Inspect the new contact, campaign tags and custom properties after a completed signup.
- Compare email-only and email-plus-phone submissions, including each channel’s subscription state.
- Confirm which Omnisend message or workflow follows the campaign’s entry route.
- For a game, compare the displayed prize with the coupon value stored on the contact.
- Repeat with an existing contact and inspect changed fields, subscription settings and repeated welcome messages.
Common questions
Which popup apps integrate with Omnisend?
The ranked table includes explicitly recorded Omnisend connections from general popup builders and Shopify-focused tools. Connection details vary; the overall score is not an integration-depth score.
Will a collected phone number become an SMS subscriber?
Not necessarily. The field, its mapping and the channel-subscription operation are different parts of the setup. OptinMonster documents separate email and SMS subscription options for its Omnisend connection.
Can a popup attach tags to Omnisend contacts?
OptinMonster’s dedicated guide documents tags. Other tools need their own supported tag operation; a visible field labelled “tag” is not enough to establish that behavior.
Can a popup send custom properties?
Some connections support field mapping. OptiMonk records mapping support, and OptinMonster documents custom properties. The editor’s full list of fields should not be read as a guarantee that every field transfers through every provider connection.
Is the Omnisend connector included in the cheapest popup plan?
It depends on the tool. OptinMonster’s setup guide states Plus or higher, while its pricing documentation has listed a different entry tier. Confirm that discrepancy before buying; the table’s Papa pick is a selected plan, not a connector-minimum claim.
Does the Omnisend integration replace the Shopify integration?
No. Store data, native cart operations and product information are separate from delivering contacts to an email platform. A tool can support one route without offering all capabilities of the other.
