Keap Popup Integrations: Contact Fields, Offer Tags and Follow-Up

Compare popup tools for Keap and Infusionsoft. See which create contacts, apply campaign tags and retain answers for sales follow-up.

A consultant offers both a planning worksheet and a paid discovery call. Either form can create a contact called Alex. The meaningful difference is what happens next: one person needs a file, the other needs a call from a real person.

Start with the Keap automation or sales process that already works. Identify its entry tag or field, match the form to that action and leave one controlled contact in the account for repeat tests. Older integration menus may use the Infusionsoft name.

Decide what a tag should do

A tag can describe an interest, identify the source of a contact or start an automation. If a single tag does all three, a second form can accidentally start a sales sequence for someone who only asked for another worksheet.

For simple contacts, Poptin documents three fields. Wisepops explicitly applies tags to synced contacts. OptiMonk adds fixed and mapped values, while ConvertFlow can collect answers across a funnel. Choose the route whose output matches the action your team intends to take.

What should your Keap popup send?

RequirementWhat to look for
Keap accountSelect the live account for the correct business and inspect a new contact there.
Entry tagChoose a tag that belongs to this offer. Check what already listens for it before applying it to a real audience.
Qualifying answerUse a contact custom field for details such as project size that vary by enquiry.
Follow-up ownerWhen the offer promises a callback, find the task or assignment in the rep’s normal view after the contact arrives.

4 popup tools with a recorded Keap connection

Sorted by Popup Papa’s absolute capability score out of 100. This measures the overall toolkit, not the depth of this one integration. Prices are the directory’s Papa pick plans, not guaranteed minimum connector prices. Check the connector tier and capacity before buying; Keap and any bridge subscription are separate.

Starting points for different needs

Wisepops

For an offer driven by one Keap tag, its instructions show account approval and where the form applies the tag.

OptiMonk

For several offers, use mapped fields for answers and a fixed source or existing Keap tag for the campaign.

ConvertFlow

Consider it when a longer qualifying form has to populate existing contact fields before a rep acts on the enquiry.

How each connection works

Connection details and plan conditions are shown below. The field tables describe the popup editor; supported transfer depends on the connector.

OptiMonk

Connection to Keap

Connect Keap to the OptiMonk campaign, choose tags that already exist in Keap and map form inputs to contact fields. You can send fixed fields too. Configure the follow-up in Keap using the tag or value the form actually supplies.

Keap connection
Editor capabilityWhat it does
Field mappingChoose destination lists and map signup fields to email or CRM providers.
Phone fieldThe visual editor exposes a Phone field with a country selector. This establishes collection controls, not SMS consent or delivery.
Single choiceRadio options expose editable labels and recorded values. The connected field determines the choice type; switching type requires a new element.
Multiple choiceThe native choice-group panel supports multiple checkbox options, with an optional required flag.
Consent checkboxThe test form rendered an unchecked, optional email-marketing checkbox. It is a recorded choice field.Email marketing consent · Privacy terms consent
Free textThe generated form includes an optional comment textarea. An AI revision removed an unwanted duplicate from the first page.
Email captureThe inspected email field exposes required-field and error-message settings. A separate Shopify test form rejected empty and malformed email and stored a valid synthetic response in OptiMonk. The earlier multi-step editor preview did not enforce validation.

Papa’s take

A modest paid traffic tier for an active store; annual billing is cheaper.

Poptin

Connection to Keap

Authenticate Keap in the poptin’s integration settings and publish the changes. Poptin lists name, email and phone and sends an API test lead to the contact database. A contact arriving in Keap is the starting point for checking any sales or messaging automation.

Keap connection
Editor capabilityWhat it does
Single choiceThe inspected field offers Radio and Single-select display modes, with editable option labels and values. This confirms one selected answer; it does not establish a scored quiz or rating scale.
Email double opt-inChoose a double opt-in setting for the popup or inherit the account setting.
Phone fieldCollect a phone number in a dedicated contact field.
Free textCollect a written response with the Message field.
Consent checkboxAdd an Email Consent checkbox alongside the signup fields.
Hidden fieldsSet an input field to Hidden instead of displaying it to visitors.
Email captureCollect email addresses through signup forms and pass new contacts to the connected mailing list.

Papa’s take

Unbranded popup campaigns with a practical visitor allowance. Email bundles are separate.

ConvertFlow

Connection to Keap

Connect the account using ConvertFlow’s Keap/Infusionsoft integration, then assign form or survey answers to contact custom fields. Use a submission action for the intended follow-up. The recorded account placed this CRM connection on Prime.

Keap connection
Editor capabilityWhat it does
SMS captureForms expose a Phone field and separate SMS Consent control; confirmation can use an SMS subscription code. Delivery depends on the connected service.
Phone fieldCollect phone numbers with the built-in Phone field. SMS consent is a separate form control.
Single choiceDropdown and radio fields collect one answer; survey answers can use text, images, icons, letters, emoji or colours.
Multiple choiceRadio/Checkbox Select fields and the survey Multi-Select setting allow multiple answers.
Free textText and Paragraph fields collect short or long written responses. Number, Date and Range fields are also available.
Consent checkboxSeparate Email Consent, SMS Consent and Privacy Consent controls are available in forms.Email marketing consent · SMS marketing consent · Privacy terms consent
Hidden fieldsHidden fields can carry extra values; field settings include prefilled values and URL-parameter mapping.
Email captureThe editor provides an Email field, prefilling and submission actions. Contacts can pass to a connected newsletter service or CRM.

Papa’s take

For teams that need funnel A/B testing and conditional recommendations; simple lead capture can use a lower tier. Free is for building and previewing; going live requires a paid website plan. Integrations, validation and AI also consume a separate action allowance.

Wisepops

Connection to Keap

In the signup form’s Sync tab, choose Keap, sign in and grant access. Back in Wisepops, select the tags to apply to synced contacts. If adding a tag starts a sequence, test both first-time and existing contacts that already carry it.

Keap connection
Editor capabilityWhat it does
Phone fieldThe form field menu includes Phone, separately from Email.
Free textThe question menu offers single-line Text and Multi-line text fields.
Single choiceRadio buttons and a Drop-down list are available in the question menu.
Multiple choiceThe question menu includes Checkboxes for selecting multiple answers.
Hidden fieldsHidden field is available in the question menu for values that visitors do not enter visibly.
Email captureAdd an Email field to a form step. The inspected field can block addresses already collected.

Papa’s take

For teams buying a managed onsite program, rather than just a popup editor. Final scope needs a quote.

How the connection changes the workflow

Example setups using the connections described above.

Deliver another worksheet to a known contact

An existing contact requests a second asset. Inspect their tags before submission. If the delivery rule depends on the first application of a tag they already carry, simply saving the contact again may not deliver the new file.

Test with the same email and inspect the automation history. Use offer-specific entry rules where the two assets should be delivered independently, even though they belong to the same person.

Send a useful callback request to a rep

For a phone call, name and number might be enough. Poptin identifies those fields explicitly. If the consultant needs project scope and budget first, use a form that can map each answer into its own Keap field.

Open the contact as the assigned rep and find the number, answers and next action. A filled phone field is contact information; any text-marketing opt-in belongs to a separate channel decision.

Head-to-head comparisons for Keap users

These comparisons cover the popup tools as a whole. Use them to compare forms, targeting and costs alongside the connection details above.

OptiMonk vs Wisepops

Both document tags for synced contacts. Compare the audience and testing controls once you know which Keap automation should receive the signal.

Poptin vs OptiMonk

Compare a callback form collecting basic contact details with a campaign that also assigns tags and fixed values for routing.

Poptin vs Wisepops

For a consultancy running several offers, compare form design and site allowances before choosing how each offer enters Keap.

Check the whole journey before launch

Use a small test campaign with addresses you control. Check the receiving record and the follow-up, not only the popup’s success message.

  1. Check a fresh contact and an existing contact separately.
  2. Verify both the field value and the precise tag applied.
  3. Inspect automation history for one delivery of the requested asset.
  4. Open the rep’s task or appointment view for a callback request.

Common questions

Why do some setup screens say Infusionsoft?

Some providers still use that name for their Keap connector. Match the account and available operations in your own setup.

Does a new contact always start an automation?

Only if the configured entry condition is met. A contact-only sync and a sync that applies a specific trigger tag can produce different results.

Can I collect a phone number for a callback?

Poptin documents phone transfer. For SMS marketing, verify the separate consent and sending requirements in Keap.
