Mailchimp Popup Integrations: Tools, Prices & Field Mapping
Already use Mailchimp? Choose the popup around the audience, fields and follow-up you need — not just a Mailchimp logo in an integration directory.
A useful Mailchimp popup integration does more than move an email address. A newsletter signup should arrive in the right audience; a product-interest answer should remain usable for segmentation; a birthday should land in a date field your campaign can read. The design gets the submission. The connection decides what you can do with it.
Start with the job: a simple newsletter, a segmented lead magnet, a birthday club or an email-and-SMS offer. Then compare the destination settings below before paying for more popup features.
Do you need a separate popup app for Mailchimp?
Mailchimp has its own popup builder with email, name, phone, birthday and text inputs. Its documentation distinguishes a birthday month/day field from full date of birth for SMS age verification. Custom audience fields and their merge tags need to be configured for the information you collect.
Try that baseline first if you only need a straightforward signup. An external app becomes useful when you need a particular display format, targeting rule, experiment or multistep experience. Buy that improvement deliberately; adding another connector creates another place to check when a lead goes missing.
What should your Mailchimp popup send?
The native form is the baseline. To compare an alternative, define the receiving record and the action that should follow a submission. The requirements below identify what the connector must preserve; use them to read the tool descriptions, rather than treating every named connection as equivalent.
| Requirement | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Audience / list | Choose the destination for this campaign. Do not assume every popup should feed the same audience, or that a connector can create one for you. |
| Merge fields | Match names, interests and other answers to the correct field keys and types. A visible input label is not a mapping. |
| Groups versus tags | Decide whether the answer represents a subscriber preference or an internal campaign label. Ask for the exact group or tag operation; these are not interchangeable controls. |
| Birthday | Choose month/day for an annual birthday message or full date of birth when your workflow requires it. Verify the format at both ends; a generic text field is not proof of birthday support. |
| Phone and SMS | Check phone formatting and SMS subscription status separately. Passing a phone number does not by itself subscribe someone to SMS marketing. |
| Opt-in confirmation | Check what happens before and after confirmation. A popup conversion and a confirmed audience subscriber can be different counts. |
| Source and UTM values | Preserve the offer, landing page or campaign source in a field you can filter later. Distinguish a static source label from visitor-specific UTM values. |
20 popup tools with a recorded Mailchimp connection
Sorted by Popup Papa’s absolute capability score out of 100. This measures the overall toolkit, not the depth of this one integration. Prices are the directory’s Papa pick plans, not guaranteed minimum connector prices. Check the connector tier and capacity before buying; Mailchimp and any bridge subscription are separate.

Three starting points for different needs
The table orders tools by overall capability, so its first row is not automatically the best connection for your setup. These three examples narrow the choice by the job the destination needs to perform.
Getsitecontrol
Getsitecontrol documents audience selection and mapping radio or checkbox answers into Mailchimp groups. That makes it a concrete starting point when a signup must preserve subscriber preferences.
OptiMonk
OptiMonk is a candidate when you need its popup targeting and campaign controls alongside a Mailchimp connection. Its broader toolkit is the reason to investigate it; confirm the required audience fields in the connector before choosing it for segmentation.
Elfsight Popup
Consider a straightforward website-widget route. Its documented Popup connection is simple; confirm advanced audience operations before choosing it for segmentation.
Use the detailed entries below to check each candidate against your required fields and destination action. The connection description and plan conditions explain which parts of the proposed workflow are recorded and which still need confirmation.
How each connection works
Open a tool for its recorded connection details, pricing caveats and form controls. The form controls describe the popup editor; only the connection description establishes what transfers to Mailchimp. Unlisted field behavior remains unconfirmed.
Getsitecontrol
Connection to Mailchimp
Choose an audience, map form and system fields, and optionally require opt-in confirmation. Mailchimp groups accept mapped radio-button or checkbox option values. Email integrations and field mapping are included in Free.
Papa’s take
All features and branding removal are included in Pro. Email sends are billed separately; the subscription and widget-view allowance are per site.
| Editor capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Field mapping | Map form fields, system values and static values to an external service. |
| Multiple choice | Let visitors select several answers using checkboxes. |
| Phone field | Collect a phone number with a dedicated form field. |
| Free text | Collect written feedback in a text field, including a comment after a rating. |
| Single choice | Let visitors choose one answer using radio buttons or a dropdown list. |
| Consent checkbox | Add a consent checkbox to a signup form. |
| Hidden fields | Attach hidden values such as UTM parameters to form submissions. |
| Email double opt-in | Send a confirmation email and add only confirmed respondents to the contact list. |
| Email capture | Collect email addresses through signup forms and pass new contacts to the connected mailing list. |
Privy
Connection to Mailchimp
Send the email addresses and phone numbers collected by Privy to Mailchimp. Use this connection when Mailchimp remains your sending platform and Privy supplies the onsite signup forms. Privy also offers its own email follow-up, so choose which platform should send the welcome message.
Papa’s take
A small step up from popup-only pricing adds email follow-up in the same product.
| Editor capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Phone field | Collect a phone number in a separate signup step. Phone capture alone does not make the contact textable. |
| SMS capture | The editor includes SMS opt-in. Native texting requires an eligible plan and a verified toll-free number. |
| Free text | The classic field library offers text and date fields for additional shopper information. |
| Single choice | Collect one answer with radio buttons or a dropdown. The mini-quiz maps answers to a named contact property. |
| Multiple choice | The classic field library includes multiple-select checkboxes and subscription multi-select fields. |
| Consent checkbox | Email Opt-In and Text Opt-In fields are available in the classic form library.Email marketing consent · SMS marketing consent |
| Hidden fields | Add hidden profile attributes such as UTM values, signup date or a custom value. |
| Email double opt-in | Display settings offer single or double email opt-in. |
| Email capture | Email is a default form field in displays; an email or a phone field is required to create a contact. |
| Field mapping | Sign-up fields sync to linked email and SMS platforms; custom properties map by matching internal names rather than a visual mapper. |
OptiMonk
Connection to Mailchimp
Connect the Mailchimp account, choose the destination list and map signup fields in the integration setup. The mapping determines which collected answers accompany the contact, so it is part of configuring the campaign rather than simply enabling the provider. Follow-up messages and segmentation are handled in Mailchimp.
Papa’s take
A modest paid traffic tier for an active store; annual billing is cheaper.
| Editor capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Field mapping | Choose destination lists and map signup fields to email or CRM providers. |
| Phone field | The visual editor exposes a Phone field with a country selector. This establishes collection controls, not SMS consent or delivery. |
| Single choice | Radio options expose editable labels and recorded values. The connected field determines the choice type; switching type requires a new element. |
| Multiple choice | The native choice-group panel supports multiple checkbox options, with an optional required flag. |
| Consent checkbox | The test form rendered an unchecked, optional email-marketing checkbox. It is a recorded choice field.Email marketing consent · Privacy terms consent |
| Free text | The generated form includes an optional comment textarea. An AI revision removed an unwanted duplicate from the first page. |
| Email capture | The inspected email field exposes required-field and error-message settings. A separate Shopify test form rejected empty and malformed email and stored a valid synthetic response in OptiMonk. The earlier multi-step editor preview did not enforce validation. |
Poptin
Connection to Mailchimp
Connect from Email and Integration using Mailchimp authorization or an API key. Send signups with tags and groups; the Update Existing Contacts option also updates returning subscribers while retaining their existing tags and groups. Message and consent values use text merge fields named MESSAGE and CONSENT.
Papa’s take
Unbranded popup campaigns with a practical visitor allowance. Email bundles are separate.
| Editor capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Single choice | The inspected field offers Radio and Single-select display modes, with editable option labels and values. This confirms one selected answer; it does not establish a scored quiz or rating scale. |
| Email double opt-in | Choose a double opt-in setting for the popup or inherit the account setting. |
| Phone field | Collect a phone number in a dedicated contact field. |
| Free text | Collect a written response with the Message field. |
| Consent checkbox | Add an Email Consent checkbox alongside the signup fields. |
| Hidden fields | Set an input field to Hidden instead of displaying it to visitors. |
| Email capture | Collect email addresses through signup forms and pass new contacts to the connected mailing list. |
Sleeknote
Connection to Mailchimp
Connect captured leads to the listed destination.
Papa’s take
Core covers campaigns and testing; buy the Games package only if you need it. Pricing says monthly visitors, but the cookie documentation ties billing to sessions separated by 30 minutes. Confirm the counting rule before choosing a traffic tier.
| Editor capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Field mapping | Map quiz answer values and question names to destination fields. |
| Phone field | The editor provides a Phone Input element separately from its SMS element. |
| SMS capture | A dedicated SMS element is available in the form editor. |
| Free text | Input and Textarea elements collect short or longer written answers. |
| Single choice | Radios, Dropdown and Answer Buttons provide choice-based responses. |
| Email capture | Collect email addresses through signup forms and pass new contacts to the connected mailing list. |
| Consent checkbox | Add a checkbox for consent alongside contact fields. |
Pop Convert
Connection to Mailchimp
Send subscribers collected by Shopify popups to Mailchimp through the app’s integration catalog. This connects onsite signup to your existing email marketing setup. Pop Convert also has its own welcome flows and email campaigns, so decide which system will deliver the signup reward and subsequent messages.
Papa’s take
The app price follows the Shopify plan. The account shows Free with 2,000 sessions, 100 subscribers and 250 emails monthly; the public listing gives lower Free limits.
| Editor capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Email capture | Collect email addresses into the customer list. |
| Phone field | Add a phone-number field with a country code. |
| Free text | Add short text inputs or a multi-line text area for feedback. |
| Single choice | Add a dropdown or radio group for a single answer. |
| Multiple choice | Add a checkbox group so visitors can select several answers. |
| Consent checkbox | Add a checkbox for terms, consent or an opt-in toggle. |
ConvertFlow
Connection to Mailchimp
Use the Mailchimp connection to send newsletter signups from ConvertFlow into your email platform. Newsletter connections are listed on Personal. ConvertFlow counts integration operations such as sending and fetching contacts against its action allowance, so the campaign’s volume matters alongside popup traffic.
Papa’s take
For teams that need funnel A/B testing and conditional recommendations; simple lead capture can use a lower tier. Free is for building and previewing; going live requires a paid website plan. Integrations, validation and AI also consume a separate action allowance.
| Editor capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| SMS capture | Forms expose a Phone field and separate SMS Consent control; confirmation can use an SMS subscription code. Delivery depends on the connected service. |
| Phone field | Collect phone numbers with the built-in Phone field. SMS consent is a separate form control. |
| Single choice | Dropdown and radio fields collect one answer; survey answers can use text, images, icons, letters, emoji or colours. |
| Multiple choice | Radio/Checkbox Select fields and the survey Multi-Select setting allow multiple answers. |
| Free text | Text and Paragraph fields collect short or long written responses. Number, Date and Range fields are also available. |
| Consent checkbox | Separate Email Consent, SMS Consent and Privacy Consent controls are available in forms.Email marketing consent · SMS marketing consent · Privacy terms consent |
| Hidden fields | Hidden fields can carry extra values; field settings include prefilled values and URL-parameter mapping. |
| Email capture | The editor provides an Email field, prefilling and submission actions. Contacts can pass to a connected newsletter service or CRM. |
Popupsmart
Connection to Mailchimp
Save a Mailchimp API key, choose an audience for the campaign and match popup inputs to Mailchimp fields. Mapping can include form answers, system information, static values and data supplied through the JavaScript API. The saved connection can be reused for another campaign or paused independently.
Papa’s take
The first tier with A/B testing, plus two team members.
| Editor capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Phone field | Collect a phone number with a dedicated Phone input. This field alone does not establish consent for SMS marketing. |
| Free text | Use Short Text or Long Input for written answers. The editor also provides name, address and date fields. |
| Single choice | Let visitors choose one answer through Single Choice or Dropdown. |
| Multiple choice | Let visitors select several answers with the Multiple Choice field. |
| Consent checkbox | Add the Notice and Consent element alongside form fields. |
| Hidden fields | Attach a Hidden Input to the submission without displaying another question. |
| Email capture | Collect email addresses through signup forms and pass new contacts to the connected mailing list. |
Claspo
Connection to Mailchimp
Authorize Mailchimp in the widget’s Integration step, choose an audience and map the form fields; email is required. Existing Mailchimp groups can be selected, and static values can accompany the submission. Enable opt-in confirmation if needed, then use the integration’s Test button to check the setup.
Papa’s take
Removes branding and leaves room for a growing store. Shopify pricing is used here. Team invitations are documented for the web app, but its help center excludes Shopify accounts.
| Editor capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Phone field | The editor provides a Phone field. This establishes phone collection, not SMS marketing consent or delivery. |
| Free text | Text input and Text area collect short and long written answers; Calendar and Date fields are also available. |
| Single choice | Dropdown and Radio components collect a single selected answer. |
| Consent checkbox | The component library includes Checkbox and Data processing and terms of use controls. |
| Hidden fields | Attach hidden fields to the widget submission through the editor’s hidden-field settings. |
| Email capture | The editor provides an Email field and a separate signup page in the inspected game template. |
Justuno
Connection to Mailchimp
Connect Mailchimp from the Apps section of Justuno’s account settings using the requested credentials. Then use the connected app in the workflow builder to push subscriber information to the chosen list or group. Account authorization makes the app available; the workflow determines where the captured data goes.
Papa’s take
The self-service tier includes experiments without the managed-service fee.
| Editor capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Phone field | The editor provides a Phone Number property and the inspected wheel template includes a country-aware mobile-number screen. |
| SMS capture | The wheel template separates mobile capture from email capture and includes SMS marketing consent copy, Terms and Privacy links. |
| Free text | Short Text and Long Text fields are available in the editor, alongside Date and profile properties. |
| Single choice | Radio Button and Single Select controls are available for collecting one answer. |
| Multiple choice | The field library includes Checkbox controls for selectable answers. |
| Consent checkbox | The editor exposes a Consent Checkbox and a separate SMS Opt-In Button. |
| Email capture | An Email Address field was added to an unpublished form. Required input, validation, duplicate handling and prefilling are available. |
Wisepops
Connection to Mailchimp
Open the popup form’s Sync settings, authorize Mailchimp and select an audience. Enter tag names exactly; use Merge with to map groups through a hidden field or visitor choices. Required audience fields need matching popup fields. Submissions sync from the live website, not the editor preview.
Papa’s take
For teams buying a managed onsite program, rather than just a popup editor. Final scope needs a quote.
| Editor capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Phone field | The form field menu includes Phone, separately from Email. |
| Free text | The question menu offers single-line Text and Multi-line text fields. |
| Single choice | Radio buttons and a Drop-down list are available in the question menu. |
| Multiple choice | The question menu includes Checkboxes for selecting multiple answers. |
| Hidden fields | Hidden field is available in the question menu for values that visitors do not enter visibly. |
| Email capture | Add an Email field to a form step. The inspected field can block addresses already collected. |
BDOW!
Connection to Mailchimp
Set a site-wide destination, then override it for individual campaigns where needed. The plan guide places email integrations in paid Pro / Plus features.
Papa’s take
New subscriptions use Pro. The legacy free plan ends November 9, 2026.
| Editor capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Email capture | Collect email addresses through signup forms and pass new contacts to the connected mailing list. |
| Free text | Add text inputs to collect visitor information beyond email. |
| Single choice | Add a dropdown or radio group for a single answer. |
| Multiple choice | Add a checkbox group with editable options, labels and stored variable names. |
| Consent checkbox | Add consent checkboxes, including a dedicated GDPR opt-in element. |
| Hidden fields | Add hidden fields to carry extra values with the submission. |
Alia
Connection to Mailchimp
Send new subscribers to the connected platform. Supported profile fields differ by provider.
Papa’s take
The entry tier already includes the core popup experiments. Shopify listing and the site calculator show different tiers; these are Shopify listing prices.
| Editor capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| SMS capture | The setup offers SMS collection, a country selector and single/double opt-in screens. Double opt-in reward delivery requires a flow with the SMS provider. |
| Single choice | Mini quiz records the selected answer under an editable question property and passes it to integrations. |
| Email capture | The inspected multi-step popup includes an Email field. Contacts and answer properties can pass to connected marketing platforms. |
Hello Bar
Connection to Mailchimp
Send new subscribers and collected fields to the connected Mailchimp list. Email integrations are available across Hello Bar’s plans, so this connection does not depend on a higher popup tier. A list already connected to an external provider is not available for a separate Zapier connection.
Papa’s take
Growth adds A/B testing and a recurring view allowance beyond Free. The pricing page conflicts: its card lists $39 with annual billing, while its comparison table lists $29 annually. Confirm the billing period before buying.
| Editor capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Email capture | Collect email addresses in signup and game campaigns. |
| Phone field | Include a phone field alongside email and name. |
| Free text | Add named custom text fields with editable visitor-facing labels. |
| Single choice | Add a dropdown field to collect a single selected answer. |
| Multiple choice | Add a Multi-select field with configurable options and option columns. |
| Consent checkbox | Add a checkbox field to a form. |
Picreel
Connection to Mailchimp
Enter the Mailchimp API key and list ID in Integrations, then assign the Picreel campaign to that destination. The connection sends both previously collected leads and future submissions from the assigned campaign, so the chosen audience receives more than just new signups after setup.
Papa’s take
Enough capacity for straightforward lead capture. Business adds games; A/B testing access needs confirmation.
| Editor capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Email capture | Collect email addresses through signup forms and pass new contacts to the connected mailing list. |
| Phone field | Add a dedicated phone-number input to a popup form. |
| Free text | Add an Input Box for a visitor's written answer. |
| Single choice | Add radio buttons or a dropdown to collect one choice. |
| Consent checkbox | Add a dedicated Consent field to the form. |
| Hidden fields | Add a Hidden Field to pass a value without a visible input. |
Elfsight Popup
Connection to Mailchimp
Authorize Mailchimp from the Popup widget’s form block. Submitted contacts are sent to Audience → All contacts, giving the widget a direct destination for collected signups. Audience management and subsequent email campaigns remain in Mailchimp.
Papa’s take

| Editor capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Free text | Collect written feedback with text fields in a native Popup form. |
| Email capture | Collect email addresses through signup forms and pass new contacts to the connected mailing list. |

POWR Popup
Connection to Mailchimp
The Popup guides document sending collected contacts to these providers. Standalone Popup places integrations in Pro; the separate usage-based offer enables them from the 5,000-pageview tier. Check the offer in your account.
Papa’s take
A meaningful increase over the 25-submission entry tier, with advanced integrations.
| Editor capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Email capture | Collect email addresses through signup forms and pass new contacts to the connected mailing list. |
| Consent checkbox | The popup form includes a Terms & Conditions consent checkbox. |
OptinMonster
Connection to Mailchimp

Adds countdowns and advanced targeting. Renews at $870/year ($72.50/month).
| Editor capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Email capture | Collect email addresses through signup forms and pass new contacts to the connected mailing list. |
Adoric
Connection to Mailchimp
Choose the destination Mailchimp list and the form fields to transfer in Adoric’s form integration settings. This is a direct connection for the Classic / Popups product. Configure it for the signup form you are using; Adoric’s separate Shopify apps have their own product scope.
Papa’s take
Classic plan summaries and the in-account feature matrix disagree on tier access. Shopify app pricing is a different offer.
| Editor capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Email capture | Collect email addresses through signup forms and pass new contacts to the connected mailing list. |
Personizely
Connection to Mailchimp
Connect Mailchimp in Settings, then add a Mailchimp automation action to the widget form. Select a list and explicitly map the fields: unmapped values are not sent. Choose Add to list for single opt-in or Add with confirmation to list for double opt-in; tags can be applied as part of the automation.
Papa’s take
Adds widget A/B testing and personalization; Essential has a different testing scope.
| Editor capability | What it does |
|---|---|
| Phone field | The form editor offers a Phone field. This alone does not establish SMS subscription or delivery. |
| Free text | Custom fields include text and textarea for free-text answers. |
| Single choice | Custom fields include select and radio controls for one answer. |
| Multiple choice | A multiple-choice custom field type is available. |
| Consent checkbox | Separate email marketing, SMS marketing and privacy consent fields are available.Email marketing consent · SMS marketing consent · Privacy terms consent |

How the connection changes the workflow
The entries above describe individual capabilities. These scenarios put them together: what the visitor submits, what reaches Mailchimpand what should happen next. They are proposed setups using the recorded capabilities, not claims that every route was tested end to end.
A lead magnet with a useful preference
Offer a buying guide, then ask one question such as ‘Which room are you furnishing?’ Keep the email and answer in the same submission. Route the person to the intended audience and map the answer into the preference structure you already use.
Getsitecontrol documents mapping radio and checkbox options into Mailchimp groups. That makes it a concrete candidate for this workflow. Do not replace a group with a tag merely because another app has a tag setting: decide how your later campaign will select these subscribers first.
A birthday club without an oversized form
Ask for an email and birthday only if the birthday offer is clear. Collecting a full birth date for a yearly greeting adds friction you may not need. Confirm the destination field type and preview the date on a test contact before enabling the birthday automation.
The tool breakdown separates confirmed form capabilities from connector details. If birthday mapping is not specified, treat it as a question for the provider, not a hidden feature implied by ‘custom fields’. Mailchimp’s own form is a useful baseline for this particular job.
A seasonal offer with accountable follow-up
Name the campaign, preserve a source value, and decide which system sends the welcome message. Avoid two competing welcome emails from the popup tool and Mailchimp. Test both a new address and an existing subscriber so you know whether answers update and whether the welcome automation repeats.
For an email-and-SMS offer, make the channels separate decisions. Check the Mailchimp subscriber state as well as the phone field. A successful contact sync alone does not establish a working SMS signup.
Check the whole journey before launch
Use a small test campaign with addresses you control. Check the receiving record and the follow-up, not only the popup’s success message.
Test the route and plan you intend to use. A trial that exposes a connector does not establish access on a cheaper subscription. The checks below confirm the receiving result, including repeat submissions and any confirmation steps relevant to these workflows.
- Submit a new address and find it in the intended audience.
- Inspect every mapped answer, group and source value on that contact.
- Check the pending and confirmed states when opt-in confirmation is enabled.
- Submit an existing address with a changed answer; check update and automation behavior.
- Confirm that only the intended system sends the welcome message or reward.
Common questions
Which popup tools integrate with Mailchimp?
The table earlier in this guide includes the named Mailchimp email connectors in our directory. Open each tool for its setup details and form capabilities. Compatibility-only mentions, such as CWILL’s marketing-tool listing, are not included as direct lead-delivery evidence.
Can I collect leads for Mailchimp without Zapier?
Yes. The destination-specific examples include an account authorization route inside the popup tool. A Zapier or webhook workflow is an alternative when you need extra routing; budget for its tasks and maintenance separately.
Does a Mailchimp integration include tags and birthday fields?
Not automatically. Check the exact operation and field type. A provider may send email addresses while exposing fewer audience settings than another connector.
